Chapter 50 - 49: Didn’t Expect That? Surprised? Unexpected?
BOOM!
A single swing of the hammer nearly smashed right through the ceiling.
He Xiaotian had held back. Slaying demons and exorcising ghosts for money was a good profession, but you couldn’t just go around damaging other citizens’ property.
The resident upstairs was, to put it mildly, completely dumbfounded.
He held his phone in his right hand, the three digits "110" glaring on the screen in the darkness.
’This ghost is way too smart, isn’t it?’
’I just wanted to call the cops, and you have the gall to warn me?’
’Can’t a guy just get some sleep?!’
Inside the bathroom, He Xiaotian looked up at the ceiling, which was steadily dripping blood, and noticed the gory figure was long gone.
Everything in Room 302 began to tremble, as if some kind of power was awakening.
WHOOSH!
A layer of cyan flames engulfed his entire body, spreading to the iron hammers in his hands and burning fiercely.
His mastery of the > had reached its peak, transforming the flames from crimson to cyan.
Its destructive power had risen to a whole new level.
A chilling aura flared from the master bedroom. Without a moment’s hesitation, He Xiaotian lifted the Big Hammer in his hand and hurled it.
BOOM!
The bedroom door instantly exploded into splinters, and the flame-wreathed iron hammer smashed into the room.
DUANG!
At that same moment, the downstairs resident put down his phone, wiped the dirt from his face, and shook the shattered concrete off his blanket.
Then, he quietly lay back down, pulled the covers over his head, and went back to sleep.
There wasn’t the slightest hint that he was angry or humiliated enough to start screaming curses at the floor above, despite the new cracks in his ceiling.
He Xiaotian activated Eight Steps Chasing Cicada and, in an instant, followed right behind, rushing into the bedroom.
He left a scorched black trail in his wake.
The exquisite floorboards were instantly ruined.
He glanced around and saw that the walls were covered in countless, densely packed characters for "Death," written in blood of all sizes.
It was clear just how much the evil spirit in this haunted house hated him!
"Pah! You coward! If you’ve got the guts, come out and face me head-on!"
He Xiaotian casually picked up the iron hammer, a fierce expression on his face.
Unfortunately for him, he was dealing with a cowardly ghost. Why would it come out to be slaughtered over a few taunts?
’Not coming out?’
’Fine!’
’Tonight, I’ll smash your den to smithereens and leave you with nowhere to hide.’
CLANG! CLANG!
He swung the two iron hammers with vigor, yet He Xiaotian still felt unsatisfied.
There was no helping it; he couldn’t go all out.
Otherwise, he would have smashed through the floors above and below by now!
The neighbor downstairs felt the rumbling from the haunted house above, trembling with fear.
He swore to himself that he would sell his apartment and move out tomorrow.
Everyone said Room 302 was haunted, but he’d always been skeptical.
Well, now he knew. Could a human being possibly be making this kind of racket?
He couldn’t think of anything it could be, other than a ghost.
He wasn’t the only one who wanted to move out; the guy upstairs felt the same way.
Poor unfortunate souls, both of them.
In that moment, He Xiaotian became like a husky maniacally tearing up a house. Other than the walls, whatever he saw, he smashed to pieces with his hammer.
When he came out of the bedroom, his vision was filled with nothing but the color of blood.
A gory figure that looked as if it had been skinned alive lunged at him.
BANG!
His three-hundred-plus-pound iron hammer struck the creature’s head with vicious force.
SPLAT!!
The tremendous impact directly shattered the figure.
The cyan flames spread to the fragments of flesh and blood, burning them intensely.
Two gusts of sinister wind rose behind him. Without even turning his head, He Xiaotian swung the iron hammer in his right hand backward.
BANG! BANG!
Two blood-colored figures were instantly sent flying by an irresistible, immense Divine Power, smashing into the wall.
You could even faintly see cracks spreading across the concrete wall.
"Is that all you’ve got?"
As the cyan flames burned them, the two blood-colored figures let out ear-piercing wails of agony.
The neighbors all around were scared out of their wits.
Every one of them was screaming internally, ’I’m moving out at dawn! I don’t even want the damn apartment anymore, is that so wrong?’
He Xiaotian walked toward the Blood Corpses, observing them closely.
These things were indeed corpses, not like the white wraith he had seen in Z County, whose body was ethereal and illusory.
’So the question is, how did they hide themselves?’
He really couldn’t figure it out, so he simply put it out of his mind.
’He wasn’t a scientist, so why bother researching it?’
’Just kill them all and be done with it!’
CLANG! CLANG!
With just two swings, he smashed the Blood Corpses’ heads.
The Qi Force in his Dantian surged, causing the cyan flames to burn even more intensely.
TSSSSS!!
In a short while, they were burned to ash.
He put down his iron hammers, immediately logged into his messaging app, and @’d the group owner, [A Real Man Never Looks Back at Explosions].
[Call Me Ancestor]: "Haunted house in 302 is taken care of. Get Huang Mao and Green Hair to come over and inspect."
His nickname had changed again in just one day.
After that, he turned off his phone, picked up his Big Hammers again, and left the apartment.
It seemed he was planning to wait for them outside the residential complex.
After He Xiaotian left the completely trashed room, a pool of blood surged out from the bathroom. The rich, pungent stench of blood filled the entire room in the blink of an eye, finally gathering together to form a humanoid object.
It stared at the devastated room, its whole body trembling, seemingly with rage.
Droplets of blood splashed and dripped onto the floor.
"Sigh..."
After a moment, it let out a sigh.
’When the situation is stronger than you are, you just have to admit defeat!’
’That brutal man with the two iron hammers... although he’s just an ordinary person, my gut instinct tells me he’s bad news!’
’That’s why last night, despite He Xiaotian’s repeated provocations, I didn’t get angry and come out to fight to the death.’
’But tonight, that guy had an ’I won’t rest until you’re dead’ look about him, which was a real headache.’
’After thinking it over and over, I decided to throw out the corpses of those three unlucky souls to be my scapegoats.’
’And it looks like everything went perfectly smoothly.’
’The hammer-swinging, muscle-bound brute is gone.’
’I can finally hide here quietly again, waiting for time to pass and for new tenants to arrive.’
’Or rather, new unlucky victims and those who refuse to believe in the supernatural.’
A sinister wind stirred. The broken furniture, cracked walls, and scorched door all returned to their original state, one by one.
The blood-red humanoid figure, however, seemed quite a bit smaller than before.
Like a two-meter-tall giant suddenly shrinking to an average height of one-point-seven meters.
Just as it turned to revert into liquid and flow back into the bathroom...
BOOM!
The security door exploded inward, and a brawny man who looked like a god or a demon, completely engulfed in furiously burning cyan flames, charged toward it at high speed, wielding two iron hammers.
A ferocious and brutal aura washed over it in a frenzy.
"Hahaha! I knew a rat like you hiding in the shadows wasn’t dead! Those three Blood Corpses earlier were just scapegoats you threw out. You son of a bitch, did you really think I’m just some muscle-bound idiot with a simple brain?
Everyone knows that three people have gone missing in this haunted house, Room 302, which corresponds exactly to three Blood Corpses. I’m a college student, for crying out loud! Do you have to look down on my intelligence this much?"
Along with his wild laughter came an iron hammer covered in cold, sharp spikes, smashing straight toward the blood-red figure’s face!!
