Ascension Of The Blood Supreme

Aiden looked at the beginner rank 2 thunderbirds flying a few distances above him. The thunderbirds had not noticed him yet. Thunder snaked across their figures as they moved swiftly through the clouds.

They seemed extremely peaceful. There were even a number of thunderbirds that were gathered together. One Thunderbird’s egg had hatched. It was obvious they were celebrating a new life in their own primal, instinctive way.

"It’s been a while I used a sword for combat"

As Aiden held the crimson sword, large blobs of blood appeared. They reinforced the crimson armor he wore.

His face was also covered.

The only part of his face that was not covered were his eyes. Instead of the transparent encasing of a battlesuit, he turned his blood into a hard crimson translucent barrier that covered where his eyes were.

Aiden flapped his crimson wings and arced upwards towards the beginner rank 2 thunderbirds.

The thunderbirds saw something approaching.

The moment they saw it, their survival instincts sinked in.

They attacked.

Bolts of thunder flashed through the clouds. The 500 beginner rank 2 thunderbirds launched lightning arcs towards Aiden as they shot towards him together.

Aiden spun and evaded their lightning attacks with uncanny dexterity.

He flapped his crimson wings and closed the distance between him and the creatures in a moment. He swung his crimson sword.

The sword came down on a thunderbird. Bolts of lightning flickered across the wing of the thunderbird. The lightning lashed around and crashed into the sword. The sword cleaved through the lightning and obliterated it. The sword continued its descent and sliced through the wing, causing the creature to screech. The sword reached its center and sliced through its body into half.

Aiden absorbed the blood essence of the corpse.

The creature’s blood rained across the skies as its two gigantic halves fell down from the clouds, into the ocean below.

The thunderbirds attacked Aiden more violently than before.

But none of their attacks landed. He was too fast.

He evaded. He spun, and slashed.

Lightning flashes ceased. Blood rained. Corpses fell. Each time he killed a creature, he would absorb their blood essence. He was becoming faster and deadlier.

A thunderbird spread its wings and flapped its wings. As it flapped its wings, it screamed. Lighting bolts shot out of its wings and its mouth towards Aiden.

Aiden flapped his crimson wings towards the creature. The creature’s attack closed in on him.

Aiden turned into a phantom. The lightning bolts were everywhere. But so was he. He evaded the attacks with so much speed that it was as if there were different versions of him at different places at the same time.

The creature felt unimaginable pain.

Three slashes. Its lightning bolts ceased. Its vision grew dim. Its innards spilled as blood rained. It was dead.

Aiden moved to the next.

The skies had become a mixture of azure and crimson overtones flashing across the place.

Thunderbirds screamed. Blood rained.

Aiden was a catastrophe. Wherever he passed, a thunderbird fell. He would absorb their blood essence and move to the next.

Very soon, no Thunderbird remained in the sky.

They were all dead. Even the newborn thunderbird had been killed.

Aiden was not one to ignore blood essence. Each bit counted.

"I’m stronger than I was previously" His power was still at the level of a beginner rank 2 warrior, but he was more powerful than he previously was.

"It will be easier to kill the eels now"

Aiden’s crimson gaze peered through the clouds. The eels were waiting for him. Their towering forms were towering over the ocean like sentinels.

Aiden’s crimson sword floated before him. Hundreds of blobs of blood appeared before Aiden and merged with the crimson sword.

Aiden controlled the crimson sword and turned it into the shape of a large crimson sea dragon several times larger than all the eels combined.

Then, the sea dragon descended towards the ocean below.

The ginormous 5000 beginner rank 2 eels looked upwards from the sea.

Something had cast a shadow on them.

They felt a lethal threat encumbering them.

Their survival instincts kicked in.

However, they were too late.

The crimson dragon, larger than all of them combined, crushed into them with lethal ferocity.

The eels screamed. The weight of what had crushed into them was too much for them to bear.

Their heads were completely flattened into meat paste.

Their enormous corpses fell on the ocean, kicking up waves on the ocean.

The crimson sea dragon transformed into a crimson sword again and returned to Aiden who had appeared several distances away from the ocean.

He absorbed the blood essence of the 5000 beginner rank 2 eels, then he flapped his crimson wings and moved forward.

The team of four expert rank 2 warriors from the Habakuk Syndicate, alongside the 24 advanced and intermediate rank 2 warriors they had brought with them into the pocket world to close the gate, had been travelling across the ocean for who knows how long.

"Use your affinities to maneuver aerially"

One of the expert rank 2 warriors said.

Everyone regained their cool and used their affinities to stabilize themselves aerially.

"We can’t keep this up for long," Another expert rank 2 warrior said.

"I have a foreboding feeling about this ocean"

Everyone nodded. They had to find land as soon as possible. Oceans contained terrifying chaotic beasts even in the real world. How much more a pocket world?

"We don’t have any way of scanning across the place to know whether we can find land immediately or not" Another expert rank 2 warrior sighed.

"We need to move forward, hoping that we can find land. Don’t move too close to the sea"

The moment the person finished speaking, another person pointed towards a particular area ahead of them.

Everyone widened their eyes in shock.

Thousands of corpses of rank 1 chaotic beasts were dead, afloat on the sea.

They were strewn across the place. The ocean top had been painted crimson.

"Who the hell killed so many rank 1 chaotic beasts?" Someone said,

The four expert rank 2 warriors who had seen The Red Death enter the pocket world knew who had caused this.

It was him.

What a monster.

Was he actually alive? Or did he wear himself out, and eventually get himself killed by a chaotic beast.

Suddenly, several legendary rank 2 chaotic beasts shot out of the ocean. The creatures looked like sharks with golden scales all across their bodies. Ice flashed across their bodies.

They looked very menacing.

"Shit... they were drawn here by the scent of the blood of the dead creatures!"

"We are screwed... launch all attacks towards them and esc-"

"Aurghhhhhhhh"

The sharks slaughtered them all with ice attacks and gobbled all of them up. Glints of satisfaction flashed through the eyes of the legendary rank 2 sharks as they dove back into the ocean depths as if they had never appeared.
