Return of the Celestial King

Qin Tuo was just about to speak, but Su Pei Pei immediately lunged at his hand and bit down hard.

After biting him, Su Pei Pei clutched the Jade Pendant in her hand, staring at Qin Tuo with a nervous expression.

Qin Tuo looked at the bite mark on his hand and said with a wry smile,

"I saved you. Why are you repaying my kindness with malice?"

Unexpectedly, Su Pei Pei sneered and replied,

"Hmph! Don’t think I don’t know what you’re up to. You only saved me because you want to snatch this Jade Pendant from me! I’m telling you, you’re dreaming!"

Qin Tuo stared at Su Pei Pei intently for a moment, his gaze so piercing that her confidence began to waver.

Then, Qin Tuo snapped irritably,

"Are you crazy? If I didn’t feel sorry for you, I wouldn’t have bothered getting involved. No good deed goes unpunished. What a waste of my time!"

With that, Qin Tuo, looking thoroughly annoyed, turned and walked away.

Watching Qin Tuo’s retreating back, Su Pei Pei was momentarily stunned.

It was only then that she realized Qin Tuo really didn’t seem to want her Jade Pendant, and that she had truly misjudged him.

So, Su Pei Pei quickly ran after him and blocked his path.

"Big Brother, I’m so sorry. I misunderstood you just now. Thank you for saving me..."

She apologized profusely to Qin Tuo, but he couldn’t be bothered with her and just kept walking back toward his hotel.

But after walking for a while, Qin Tuo realized that Su Pei Pei was still doggedly following him, refusing to leave.

At first, Qin Tuo ignored her. But Su Pei Pei didn’t say anything either, just trailed him like a shadow, seemingly intent on following him all the way back to the hotel.

Qin Tuo finally couldn’t take it anymore and asked,

"Su Pei Pei, why are you following me? Shouldn’t you be getting home?"

Su Pei Pei stopped in her tracks and fidgeted with her hands, saying pitifully,

"Big Brother, I’m afraid to go too far... I’m scared I’ll run into those bad guys again!"

Qin Tuo thought about it and figured she had a point. If she ran into Zhu Zifeng and Liu Tao again, Su Pei Pei would have no chance of escaping a second time.

Besides, since he had already saved her once, he figured he might as well see it through to the end.

Thinking this, Qin Tuo asked,

"Where do you live? I can take you home."

Hearing Qin Tuo’s offer, Su Pei Pei was touched. She lowered her head and said shyly,

"Big Brother, I’m staying in a small village outside Qingshui Town right now. Are you... are you sure you want to take me all the way back?"

Qin Tuo shook his head with a helpless smile.

"If I say I’ll take you home, I’ll take you home. Did you think I was lying?"

And so, Qin Tuo led Su Pei Pei toward the small, unnamed village.

Su Pei Pei was incredibly grateful, and she expressed her thanks to Qin Tuo continuously along the way.

After walking for some time, they finally arrived at the place Su Pei Pei was currently living.

Upon entering the simple house, Su Pei Pei quickly brought a stool over for Qin Tuo to sit on.

But Qin Tuo’s attention was drawn to a tattered bed in the room, where an emaciated, middle-aged man lay. He appeared extremely weak and was unconscious.

"Big Brother, please have a seat. I need to give my father his medicine first..."

As she spoke, Su Pei Pei deftly pulled a packet of medicinal pills from her clothes. She opened it and was about to give them to her father.

Qin Tuo could tell that Su Pei Pei must have been targeted by Zhu Zifeng and his men when she went out to buy these very pills for her father’s illness.

Seeing Su Pei Pei about to put the pills in her father’s mouth, Qin Tuo quickly stopped her.

"Stop!"

Startled by Qin Tuo’s words, Su Pei Pei’s hands trembled, and she looked at him with a confused expression.

Qin Tuo said slowly,

"Su Pei Pei, those pills are too harsh. They won’t have any effect on your father’s illness—in fact, they’ll only make it worse!"

At these words, Su Pei Pei’s face went pale with fright.

She quickly pulled the pills back, swallowed hard, and asked,

"Big Brother, you... you know medicine?"

If anyone else had said that, Su Pei Pei would never have believed them; after all, these pills were her only hope.

But Qin Tuo had saved her life, which made Su Pei Pei place her complete trust in him.

Qin Tuo nodded.

"Yes, I know how to treat illnesses."

When Qin Tuo confirmed it with a nod, Su Pei Pei’s eyes reddened. With a THUD, she fell to her knees and began to kowtow to him.

"Big Brother, I’m begging you! Please save my father!"

Qin Tuo hadn’t expected such a grand gesture and quickly told her to get up.

"Get up first, we can talk then. There’s no need for this!"

But Su Pei Pei was extremely anxious, terrified that Qin Tuo would refuse to help.

She said in a hoarse voice,

"Big Brother, if you can save my father, I’m willing to... sleep with you..."

As she said this, Su Pei Pei’s face turned completely red, and she didn’t even dare to look Qin Tuo in the eye.

Qin Tuo was utterly shocked and quickly waved his hands, saying,

"Don’t say things like that! I’m not that kind of person."

Su Pei Pei immediately nodded emphatically, scrambled to her feet, and looked at her father with concern.

At this, Qin Tuo took out a Silver Needle, slowly approached the bed, and carefully examined the middle-aged man’s condition.

After a quick look, he found that the man’s body had an accumulation of stagnant blood, which was causing the coma.

And so, Qin Tuo directly used the Silver Needle to pierce several points on the middle-aged man’s body.

Watching Qin Tuo insert the needle, Su Pei Pei’s heart rose to her throat. She was too nervous to even speak.

After Qin Tuo finished with the Silver Needle, the middle-aged man immediately had a reaction.

BLEGH!

With a violent heave, he spat out several mouthfuls of black blood, his face alternating between ashen and pale.

But with that, he regained consciousness, no longer in the dazed stupor he was in before.

The middle-aged man slowly sat up, feeling his condition gradually improving.

"Pei Pei, what... what happened?" the middle-aged man asked weakly.

Su Pei Pei said, her face flushed with excitement,

"Father, it was this Big Brother! He used a Silver Needle to wake you up!"

The middle-aged man was clearly a knowledgeable person, as he could tell at a glance that Qin Tuo’s medical skills were superb.

He immediately cupped his fists and said respectfully,

"Young man, you are a miracle doctor! Thank you for saving my life!"

Seeing her father’s spirit so much improved, Su Pei Pei couldn’t stop the tears from streaming down her face.

She quickly knelt again and kowtowed deeply to Qin Tuo several times to express her gratitude.
