The thing squelched, wet flesh pressed between plates of chitin. It didn’t feel the cold as it was much too dumb for that. Dim light shone in from the two holes. They were too small for it to crawl out of them anymore, but it was comfortable where it was. The concave chamber was perfect, filled with cream yellow meat that was so very soft after it had melted.

It nibbled on it.

The strings running from the cream meat further down the cavern made its mandibles spark. It avoided those. Its belly was so full, all the time. The blue liquid kept leaking out between the seams of its stretched skin, the glow seeping into the walls of the cavern.

The teratome kept eating.

The corpse of the giant stirred.
