Out For Karma: Resident Evil

Chapter 90: Unreal

Chapter 90: Unreal

Jill was checking the news on the BSAA’s homepage. There was no case currently for her to work on but it didn’t mean she could find one or help someone else with theirs. She was reading an article about disappearances in sewers somewhere in Germany when a paper ball hit her forehead. Her eyes narrowed and they switched from focusing on her screen to a few inches to the side to look at her ex.

She hated when Chris did that. He could have called out to her or simply used the chat option on the BSAA’s program but no, he had to catch her attention like a high schooler.

“What?” She didn’t even bother hiding her irritation in her voice.

Unfortunately, Chris didn’t care. Contrary to her expectation he didn’t talk, he whispered. “What do you think about the new recruits we got? I mean… Rachel reminds me of Jessica but blonde and Angela…”

“Rachel is alright. Different from Jessica. Sure she’s flirty, but only during breaks. Work comes first.”

“Good.” He sounded relieved. “Enduring Jessica was such a chore on the field, I’m glad I won’t have to do it anymore.”

“As for Angela…” Jill looked to the other side of the office to the woman at her new desk. She was focused on something but couldn’t tell what. “I think she wants to do well. Reminds me of us after the Spencer Mansion.”

“Traumatized, a bit out of her depth, want to take the fight up against bio-terrorism and BOW?”

“...Yeah.” Jill looked back at Chris but her eyes caught a fuming Rebecca exiting O’Brian’s office, papers in hands and walking straight towards them. “Oh this is not good.”

Chris had a ‘what are you talking about?’ expression on his face and his body jolted when a small stack of paper landed on his desk.

“Here are the results of your last checkup.” Rebecca said curtly. “Nothing’s wrong.” She took a few more steps to reach Jill and do the same. “You on the other hand still have traces of the T-Abyss but thanks to the anti-viral agent you took before your infection, your body is naturally creating anti-bodies to it.”

“Okay… What does that mean for me?” Jill asked, a bit worried.

Rebecca’s tone didn’t change. “It means that for now you can’t donate your blood. Not until there is enough anti-bodies, like for the T-Virus. It means that you’re good for a blood test every month to check their levels. Since the T-Abyss was the result from… mixing the T-Virus and the Abyss-Virus in layman’s terms, it won’t take that much time. Between two to three months if the speed of development is constant from the analysis of your blood sample I took after you came back from the Queen Zenobia and the one from the other day.”

Her irritation defeated Chris’ patience. Rebecca Chambers was a kind individual but she didn’t suffer fools and non-sense. Whoever pissed her off was in for a quite a reckoning and he felt almost sorry for the ass whooping they were going to get. Still, he didn’t like seeing his always cheerful friends in this state.

“Rebecca, what’s wrong?”

She glared at him. “Nothing is wrong.”

“Come on, Reb, you look like you’re about—”

“NOTHING IS WRONG!” She snapped at him and everyone in the office turned their head in her direction. Realising it, her anger was replaced by embarrassment and shame. “Sorry.” Her shoulders slumped.

Chris stood up and offered her his chair which she took gratefully. He stayed up, leaning on his feet while Jill rolled her seat next to their friend for support.

“What happened? Who Chris has to kick the ass off?”

That made Rebecca smile a bit. “There is no need for any ass kicking. I can handle Rick myself, thank you.”

Chris and Jill exchange a curious look. Rick’s bluntness tended to piss people off but the pragmatism he displayed at the same time forced people to be quiet about it because usually they were wrong. Rebecca wasn’t ‘people’ however. She had history with the man.

“What did he do?”

Rebecca sighed in surrender and confessed. “He avoids me for a start, then lied about it to my face with some bullshit excuses. It all crumbled down when he refused to let me do his checkup. Heck! He recruited Annette for that!”

“Annette?” Chris was confused.

“That’s my new coworker.”

Jill knew about Annette of course, Rick had warned her. While she wasn’t happy about the woman working for the BSAA because of what she did, she was giving her the benefit of the doubt. But that wasn’t what interested her.

“Okay, Rebecca. Tell us in detail what has happened.”

And she did. From bumping into him to her departure in rage from the lab. Nothing was forgotten and omitted. The ex-couple exchanged a glance and Jill sighed because it was obvious it was up to her to clear the misunderstanding.

“First off: Rick is embarrassed and that’s why he avoids you. He told me himself. He doesn’t hold a grudge, he’s not bitter or anything like that. He just can’t stand the awkwardness.”

Rebecca was still frowning. “But to go as far as—”

“He didn’t lie about the checkup either,” Jill cut her off. “It’s a bit more complicated than that because you see Rick…” She looked at Chris for help, not really knowing what to say to not out Rick.

“Had a medical condition.” The man helped with saying that.

Rebecca’s frown deepened. “What kind of… No, if he hasn’t told me, then you won’t.”

“Annette is aware of it, that’s why he chose her. They’ve known each other for years. It’s not related in any way to you, Rebecca. Had it been someone else instead of you, Rick would still have brought her in.” Jill finished her explanation, hoping it would be enough.

Rebecca calmed herself down, feeling a bit better but there was still some unhappiness about not being trusted enough with Rick’s own secret. Her shoulders slumped even more and her head tipped forward further. Jill put a comforting hand on her shoulders.

“I had hoped we could still be friends, you know? Despite… I thought we parted on good terms.”

Jill reassured her on the spot. “You did. He never thought badly of you. If anything he sounded panicked in the one e-mail he wrote to me about bumping into you at Princeton.” She chuckled. Had it been any one else but her, all people would have seen was Rick reporting the incident like he would the weather. It was clear however that he had lost his cool at the time.

“But why?” Rebecca raised her head to look at her friend. “Is it because… He did more than well for his first time!”

Chris snorted on the spot, not having expected that particular topic to be brought up. He quickly schooled his features when Jill looked at him murderously. Closing his mouth and biting his lips, he shook his head.

“Heck! I’ve known more experienced men who were not nearly as good!”

While Chris walked away, his body shaking with laughter, Jill focused back on Rebecca and promised herself to kick the man’s ass.

“As he and I said, he’s embarrassed. He liked you. I think… you kind of were his first crush and… well… He may have thought he finally got himself a girlfriend…”

“And he didn’t. Gosh,” Rebecca buried her head in her hands. “I can’t believe he’s embarrassed to the point of avoidance because… He misread the situation.” Gone was her frown. It was replaced by something else. A mix of amusement and fondness. “That’s both insane and extremely cute.” By now she was laughing softly.

“Yeah, I agree on that.” Jill joined her without shame. Rick may be her little brother figure but seeing him all bothered like this was just too funny. “He’s never been good when it’s about dealing with emotions.”

“Now the way he made his delivery makes sense. It was all blunt and… pragmatic.”

Jill knew what Rebecca was talking about from experience. “I guarantee you, inside he was sweating bullets.”

Her fury now gone, Rebecca asked a question so out of the left field that it took Jill aback. “Is he seeing anyone?”

“I…What?!”

Laughing at her colleague’s dumbfounded face, Rebecca laughed. “What? He’s a hunk! And he’s smart and… I had not bailed out for my Phd and had the outbreaks not happened, I may have dated him in the long run. I mean… I would have been happy by just being friends since… You know, I thought he was holding a small grudge but since he’s not…”

Jill opened and closed her mouth multiple times, not knowing what to say. There was a lot to unpack here about Rick’s love life. Love life which included her.

“I… No?”

“Is that a statement or an answer?”

Jill took a deep breath to give a more appropriate reply. “He doesn’t. Date, I mean.”

“Hmm… Maybe I can change his mind,” Rebecca thought wishfully aloud.

“Yeah, no. I doubt you can. He’s still in love with his ex.”

Rebecca frowned. “Oh, that’s not good. Although… maybe I can…”

“Rebecca, I love you and I wish nothing more than you turning his head but it’s doomed to fail.” Jill spoke the blunt truth of the matter. “Rick’s heart is in pieces and unfortunately the one who holds all of them is his ex after ripping them out from his chest in the first place.”

“Wow, that bad, huh?”

Jill gave her a deadpan look. “You have no idea. I would have kicked her ass if not for Chris.”

That confused Rebecca. “Why Chris? What does he have anything to do with—”

“Rick’s ex is Chris' sister.” Jill blurted out.

“Holy Sugar Honey Ice Tea!” Rebecca’s eyes widened in shock, not having expected that revelation at all. “You’re serious?!”

“Very, yes. If it’s fun you want however… The intimate but unattached kind I mean… Rick is more than up for that.”

A frown marred Rebecca’s face. “How do you know that?”

Jill cursed herself for not having anticipated that question. Thankfully she had plenty of excuses at the ready. “He’s family, we talk.”

“Hmm… Maybe I will.” Rebecca said no more.

Jill watched her leave after being thanked for dealing with the misunderstanding. Going back to what she was doing before Chris interrupted her, her phone rang. Grabbing it from the side of her desk, she saw it was a message from Rick. After sighing, she stood up and went to his corner of the office.

“Excuse me,” She caught the attention of Angela who turned away from her screen. “Hi, I’m Jill, you’re Angela, right?”

“That’s right. Words go around fast, I see.” Angela shook the hand Jill was offering her.

Jill chuckled. “Oh, you have no idea yet. Look, I just received a message from Rick. His checkup will last for a while longer because apparently,” Her tone turned from pleasant to irritated. “He has a lot to be tested for because he never did one in two years. As a result, the idiot asked me to show you the ropes in his stead until he gets back and to tell you he’s sorry about that.”

Angela smiled softly in amusement. “It’s fine, I was having a look at the bestiary anyway. Learning the threats I may encounter, you know?”

“Good call. Many don’t bother. They’re armed, know enough to recognize a BOW, and think it’s enough.”

“Rick talked about that. Mortality rate is rather high with those from what I understood.”

“Yes, although the statistic is like a bucket of cold water and bit by bit the new agents tend to not make that mistake. Since you’re busy learning, I’ll leave you to it but if you have questions, my desk is over there.” Jill pointed at her workspace.

“Wouldn’t the chat be better?”

Jill grinned. “Oh, you and I are going to get along just fine. Yes, it’s better but you’ll quickly see that only Rick and I use it around here.”

Wishing her good luck with the bestiary, she walked back to her desk and went back to read articles.

Meanwhile, back in the examination room, Annette was looking bewilderedly at the two containers almost filled to the brim by a white liquid. She couldn't explain how Rick could produce so much sperm in one orgasm. It defied logic.

‘Then again, this man is a superhuman.’ she thought to herself. “Are you sure—”

Rick cut her off. “That it’s all from a one time wank? Yes. And no, I wasn’t backed up, my last tryst was two days ago.”

“Hm.” She tried to think of something but her mind was blank. “I don’t get it. This shouldn’t be possible.”

“It’s right in front of you. The proof it is.”

Annetted ignored his comment, not helping with the situation. “Did you ejaculate that much before your first infection?”

He shook his head. “No. I didn’t cum until after I was already infected by the T and G-virus, so I can’t tell you which is responsible. I have noticed that I produced more afterwards but nothing like this. To be honest I wasn’t expecting the amount to fill more than two containers.”

“More than…” Annette’s head snapped to the side, in both horror and fascination, to look at him. “Oh.” Rick had to aim his dick to another container meaning some of his sperm may have been lost in the switching process. “You didn’t expect…?”

“No. As I grew older and reached my prime I began producing more but it stabilized. More than normal but not…. This much.”

Annette tapped the end of her pen against her lips, deep in thoughts. “So it’s a recent development.”

This time, Rick nodded. “Yes. I think… It’s a result of the T-Abyss. I know I didn’t cum this much before being infected and… well, I didn’t really pay attention after.”

“Hmm… That still makes no sense. Why would your body enhance your production when you’re sterile? So far it mutated for the better from what you reported. Always. This… isn’t the case. There is no point.”

“Not only that,” He inserted himself into her thought process. “But usually my body mutates because of a deep need or will to survive. Producing more is in no way related to survival. On an unrelated note, if my body did this despite me being sterile…”

“Then maybe it’s not aware that you are or it fixed it.”

“God, I hope not.” His whisper was heard by Annette.

“I’ll analyze it.” She stood up and went to pick three more containers. “Do it again.”

Rick looked at them like they had offended him. “You’re kidding, right? That’s not part of—”

“It’s part of yours.” She cut him off with a no nonsense tone. “Subsequent ejaculations are usually less than the first one in terms of amounts. Did you ejaculate so much because two days was enough for you to be backed up or is it a constant? What would happen if you don’t have any release for a certain period of time? Will it be hurtful for you? We need to know.” The firmness in her voice didn’t leave, it was still there.

“I’m not spending the day masturbating in the restroom, Annette.”

She could tell from the scowl on his face that he was serious about this. However, she didn’t care. What she cared about was getting the answers to her questions. Partly because she was curiously fascinated, partly because the truth of the matter was important for her goals.

Annette may have been reformed for the purpose of maintaining her relationship with Sherry but she hadn’t given up on elevating the human race. She had for a while after Raccoon City, her daughter was more important but when Rick had offered her a place at the BSAA to be his doctor, her ambition came back roaring fiercely.

Rick being sterile was a huge problem. An obstacle on her path to evolve the human race. That was why she had so much interest in this, his genetic material aside. If Rick had children then his gene pool would spread and slowly but surely the homo sapiens would be replaced by a new homo type. This was why Annette didn’t take no for an answer. Rick wouldn’t do more tests? She’d do it herself.

The woman moved from her stool and got on her knees right in front of him, determination on her face. On Rick’s? Pure shock, even more so when Annette grabbed his underwear and tugged it down without a second thought or a single word.

Her head jerked back when something heavy and hard hit her below the chin. Lowering her head, her eyes crossed when she was confronted with Rick’s erection an inch from her face. Her jaw dropped when she realized what it was. She couldn’t believe the size of it. While working for Umbrella and conducting experiments, she had come across all kinds of sizes. Varying length, thickness and shape but she never saw a penis whose proportion would make it a direct shoe-in for adult rated movies.

“You’re gorgeous, on your knees, giving me a very good look of your cleavage, Annette. What did you expect from a healthy male in his prime?”

Still silent and dumbfounded, Annette grabbed it with one hand. It was not enough. Her fingers couldn’t close completely around it, so she used the second one.

“God, you are really going through with this.” He whispered. “You’re nuts.”

The brunette finally got back to her senses. “It’s for science,” she said with a frown.

“Right.”

Rick’s flat tone indicated he didn’t believe her for a moment. It was the truth albeit not the whole truth. Annette would never admit it but the idea of playing with the meat stick she had in hands aroused her greatly.

‘God, if Sherry… He’s going to destroy her.’

One of her hands left his shaft to go under it and weighed his nutsack. Noticing how heavy it was, she understood that she was ill prepared to conduct the tests she had in mind. With no other choice, she pulled away and went to grab a small digital scale.

Rick’s eyes widened. “Seriously?!”

“I’m always thorough with my work.”

Annette went back on her knees and began to work as if it was a perfectly normal occurrence. The faint blush on her face was proof it wasn’t. She had a lot to cover and the sooner she dealt with this the better.
