Chapter 66: Jealous Silver Goddess
The Vanguard armory was a sprawling subterranean vault located deep beneath the main keep of the Sterling estate.
The heavy adamantine doors were guarded by two elite Master tier knights who offered Leon a crisp respectful salute as he approached.
Word of his heroic actions during the Syndicate siege and his effortless subjugation of the Vane daughter had already spread through the military ranks like wildfire elevating his status from a lowly attendant to a revered battlefield legend.
Leon stepped into the cavernous vault and activated his Aura Sight to navigate the dimly lit aisles.
The armory was an awe inspiring treasury of aristocratic warfare featuring thousands of mastercrafted weapons glowing with dormant magical runes.
There were delicate silver rapiers humming with freezing ice magic heavy halberds radiating searing fire and finely balanced longswords designed to channel dense wind currents.
He wandered through the massive collection searching for a weapon that could properly handle the monstrous kinetic output of his one hundred and seventy points of Strength.
The delicate enchanted blades would simply shatter under the immense pressure of his Kinetic Shockwave skills just like Julian’s wooden staff had done in the library.
"You are looking in the wrong section warden," a familiar melodic voice echoed from the shadowed entrance of the vault.
Leon turned his head and watched Seraphina saunter into the armory.
The Silver Goddess had changed out of her dark leather combat suit and was currently wearing a highly fitted deep purple training tunic that clung beautifully to her athletic curves.
She walked down the aisle with a slow predatory grace her violet eyes assessing his broad muscular shoulders with intense lingering interest.
"The weapons in this aisle are designed for aura shaping and elemental projection," Seraphina explained while trailing her manicured fingers across a rack of glowing spears.
She stopped a few feet away from him and crossed her arms under her generous chest intentionally pushing her cleavage upward.
"You require something capable of enduring raw blunt force trauma. You need high density star iron."
She gestured for him to follow her toward the deepest darkest corner of the subterranean vault. Leon fell into step beside her enjoying the intoxicating scent of sweet lavender radiating from her skin.
However he noticed her Lie Detector aura was practically buzzing with a highly agitated fiery heat.
The fierce swordswoman was projecting a subtle brooding jealousy that heavily conflicted with her usual arrogant confidence.
She had already seemed silently upset since his display with Elara, and his request concerning the Headmaid, but had said nothing.
"Lady Isolde could not take her eyes off you during the diplomatic reception," Seraphina noted casually attempting to mask the venomous edge in her voice. "I suppose some women find your rugged lack of manners charming. Just remember which house pays your wages Leon."
The crystal bell chimed beautifully in his skull cutting through the quiet atmosphere of the armory to project a glowing pink text box right in front of the weapons rack.
[Quest Issued: The Jealous Lioness]
[Context: The fierce noble daughter is displaying highly territorial behavior regarding her rivals. A true degenerate never misses an opportunity to exploit a woman’s possessive jealousy to secure his own dominance.]
[Objective: Trap Seraphina against the weapon rack, gently trace the sharp edge of her jawline with your thumb, and reassure her!]
[Reward: +15 Mana, Skill ’Kinetic Weight’, 250 Shameless Points.]
[Failure Penalty: The Host will suffer a violent sudden bout of temporary blindness whenever a beautiful woman looks in his direction rendering flirting physically impossible.]
Leon smoothly shifted his stance.
He placed his right hand firmly against the heavy iron weapon rack resting just beside her head trapping her athletic body between his broad muscular chest and the cold metal.
Seraphina let out a soft breathless gasp her violet eyes widening in pure shock as his rugged handsome face loomed dangerously close to hers.
She instinctively raised her hands to his chest but the blazing heat radiating from his tailored tunic instantly melted her defensive martial reflexes.
Leon slowly raised his left hand and gently brushed his thumb along the sharp flawless edge of her aristocratic jawline.
The highly intimate physical contact sent a massive jolt of electricity straight down her spine causing her breathing to turn erratic and shallow.
"You have absolutely nothing to worry about Lady Seraphina," Leon murmured in a deep magnetic whisper that vibrated heavily against her lips. "I personally think green is an incredibly ugly color. Silver is undeniably my favorite."
Seraphina stared up into his dark piercing eyes completely paralyzed by the overwhelming gravitational pull of his raw masculine dominance.
Her Lie Detector aura wildly exploded with a blinding chaotic storm of deep intoxicating relief and a fierce burning desire that threatened to consume her rational thoughts.
Seraphina was actively leaning into his touch craving the dangerous validation he provided.
[Quest Completed Successfully!]
[Your vision remains crystal clear and highly perceptive.]
[Distributing Rewards: +15 Mana, Skill ’Kinetic Weight’ Acquired, 250 Shameless Points.]
A sudden refreshing surge of cool energy flooded his expanded core elevating his Mana to a highly respectable seventy five points.
The newly acquired Kinetic Weight skill burned its mechanics into his brain granting him the vital ability to use his kinetic aura to artificially increase or decrease the mass of whatever object he was holding.
Leon smoothly stepped back releasing the flustered noblewoman from his magnetic trap. He offered her a charming wicked smirk before turning his attention to the dusty iron rack she had led him to.
Resting on the heavy brackets was a massive hulking slab of dark metal that barely resembled a traditional sword. It was nearly six feet long and possessed a thick blunt edge designed strictly for crushing heavy armor rather than slicing flesh.
The weapon was forged from pure high density star iron making it impossibly heavy for a normal Master knight to wield efficiently.
Leon reached out and firmly gripped the thick leather wrapped hilt. He channeled his massive Strength and effortlessly lifted the colossal weapon off the rack.
He casually rested the flat of the heavy blade against his shoulder making the massive hunk of dark iron look as light as a wooden training stick.
"This will do perfectly," Leon declared projecting a highly satisfied aura. He could actively use his new Kinetic Weight skill to make the massive sword strike with the force of a falling meteor.
Seraphina took a deep unsteady breath fighting to restore her strict aristocratic composure while furiously willing the red blush on her cheeks to fade.
