"Is that why we eat so much?" Kratos asked, sitting back on his paws.
"It's definitely one of the reasons," Rudra said.
He was Level 1 again, but his core stats were still sitting in the eight-hundreds. He didn't lose his titles, his achievements, or the massive pile of stats he got from cooking hundreds of dishes. He basically had the raw stats of a Level 200 player, but he could grind the easy early levels all over again.
Plus, the system had officially unlocked the hidden legendary stats. He expanded the tooltips to read exactly what they did.

Rudra nodded. His high Persistence from hours of grinding directly fed into his Indomitable stat, giving him a massive chunk of damage reduction right out of the gate.
He moved on to check his new titles.

"I'll make sure to bring extra seasoning next time," Rudra promised. He finally checked the skill section. His old standard attack moves were gone, replaced by the foundation of a Legend.

He was Level 1. He had no active attack staff skills outside of his Rune moves. But he had crazy base stats, an insane party buff, and three empty slots to just make up his own moves from scratch. The wipe was definitely worth it.
"Are we going home now?" Kratos asked, yawning. "I'm sleepy. And hungry."
"Yeah, let's pack up," Rudra said. He turned around to walk back out of the vault.
He stopped.
He completely forgot about the other guy in the room.
Mumud the Lich was still standing in the corner of the vault. The red boss tag over his skull was gone. Now it was just a plain white name. The skeleton was holding his shiny magic orb, staring at the stone wall. He looked incredibly awkward.
Rudra blinked. "Uh. Hey."
The Lich slowly turned its skull toward Rudra. Its jawbone clicked a few times.
"I'm guessing you don't have a home to go back to," Rudra said.
Mumud just stared at him with empty eye sockets.
