Bloodline of the Forgotten Emperor

Chapter 27: Have you heard of a thousand ant killing an elephant. Young Master

"Heh, why can't my Qi flow past those grey boundaries?" I asked the system, curious.

*Well, the thing is that these grey boundaries show the limits of each realm. As you breakthrough, so does it expand, until it forms a world within. Just take it as a chaotic state of your world.*

"So if I fill up this boundless space, I can form my own world?" A bit excited and thrilled. "I'm gonna have my own world very soon."

Before I could continue with the excitement, *don't be in a hurry, host. No one has yet accomplished this so far, only a very few individuals.*

"Then why the hell did you tell me that?" I said, my sudden excitement fading out just as fast.

*You asked for it, right. I'm just fulfilling my role as your most respected, trustworthy mentor,* it said, sarcastic.

"Whatever," I said, turning my attention back to my Qi circulation, enjoying the feeling and the gradual assembling of my core foundation.

"Time's up, Young Master," Elder Mo Xuan said, reaching the top of the mountain quietly with some restrained demonic beasts in hand.

I gave him a look, which made him turn his attention away from the beasts. "Why the stare, Young Master?" A bit curious in his voice.

"I've been wanting to ask you this for a very long time. Are those things alive, or illusions?" I said, pointing at the beasts.

"Before I forget — you once said this is my world. But according to records, no one's been able to create a world in ages. So."

He chuckled, a small smile forming. "This isn't a fully grown world yet, but something similar to it. And these demonic beasts are pretty alive, so don't think you can't be killed by them."

"What do you mean, not be killed by them." A chill ran down my back.

He smiled, then waved his hand, and we arrived at a vast plain with no hills or rocks in it.

He released the beasts. I'd thought it would be one or two of the strongest. I didn't realize this maniac of an Elder actually wanted to kill me.

Tens of thousands of demonic beasts were unleashed. "Young Master. You must have heard this saying — 'a thousand ants are capable of biting an elephant to death.' That means you'll be fighting tens of thousands of Qi Condensation realm beasts, ranging from the 1st realm's early stage to the peak of the 9th."

"Wait. You can't be serious, Elder. I know I said I'd train to death, but I didn't really mean it." I lost my composure completely, staring at the demonic beasts in the distance, gnawing at themselves, making creepy sounds, all of them fixed entirely on me.

I said, fear creeping in, "Why are they staring at me," taking a step back.

"I know you'll try to run, Young Master. So I released a bit of your bloodline's aura. This bloodline of yours, which has always protected you, will be the cause of your death today," he said, giving me a creepy smile.

"I don't believe my dad agreed to my death here. He will definitely be mad at you later. How can this prestigious Young Master be killed by a group of mindless demonic beasts," I said, hoping he'd change his mind.

"Your dad suggested it. Enough of the talk." Then he disappeared.

The moment he vanished, it was as if an invisible chain holding them in place had snapped.

The demonic beasts rushed at me. *System. I know I've always been unfair to you, but just know that I love you and my heart is yours,* I said suddenly in my mind, like a final confession.

*Heh. I'm not into boys, okay. Don't die, okay. Let's show them what it means to be a tyrant,* it said, disgust first, then seriousness.

Before the demonic beasts got a mile closer, I suddenly shouted, "Elder Mo Xuan! Release my shackles! I can't fight while handicapped!"

I felt a shift somewhere within my body. A sudden flush of strength — my current strength increased to an unprecedented degree, which thrilled me even through the fear.

My bloodline's aura fired out, which made the demonic beasts hesitate for a while, but under Elder Mo Xuan's instigation, they still continued onward.

During that brief moment of hesitation, I charged. *I can't remain on defense — better to be offensive. If I'm going to die, I'll at least die standing. A monument to my status, erected in my honor.*

I grabbed the first beast and, with full brute force, crushed it into a meatmash — after all, why would I go easy on my enemies?

Then another lunged at me. Then another. Then I was suddenly surrounded by them. In this kind of situation, I didn't really care about fighting style, since I had none on record anyway.

As I punched them, so did they punch back, but what really surprised me was my recovery speed, which was growing stronger with time, alongside my gradual adaptation to my bloodline's control.

That moment of surprise almost cost me my life. One of the beasts broke through my opening, grabbed me like a ragdoll, then smashed me toward another. Before I could even get back on my feet, an eagle-like creature pierced my ribcage, deepening the wound further, and was about to eat me alive when something else yanked it away.

While I fought with my life on the line, my blood — leaking out from the numerous major and minor wounds across my body — was mutating those beasts, beasts that I trade injuries with was suddenly becoming stronger.

This change drove the tens of thousands of beasts that hadn't yet reached me into a frenzy.

"Am I really going to die here." That was the final thing I muttered before my entire view — the sky, the ground, even below it — was covered completely in monsters.
