Recipe For a Ruthless Delinquent

Chapter 30 The Next Clue

Chapter 30 The Next Clue

I yawned as I waited at the meeting place. It was almost midnight. I had tried to sleep during the day, but sadly, sleeping wasn’t one of my superpowers. Not that I had any.

I pulled out another chocolate bar and took a bite. Good flavor. I probably needed to eat something more substantial when I had the time, though. I sighed. It wasn't that the old woman at home didn't make plenty of food. She actually cooked all my favorites—always enough to make me fat—but I didn’t want her or the old man to see me enjoying it. They didn’t deserve it.

I stuffed the wrapper into my pocket and began walking. The target finally stumbled into view, looking around with fear written all over his face. The moment I saw he was alone, I rushed in like a predator and slammed him against the wall.

“Ah!” he choked out.

I punched him hard in the gut, sending the air rushing out of his lungs in a sharp gasp.

“Don’t yell, fatso. You're gonna wake up the neighbors.”

I dragged him deeper into the alley. I always seemed to find myself in these kinds of shadowy places… and always at night.

“Now talk, bastard.”

He shakily pulled out a folder. Before I even opened it, I demanded, “What did you find about them?”

He breathed heavily, his voice shaking. “Both of them. Their addresses and their parents’ contact information. I don’t know if Kenta Ishida’s still living with them, though—there wasn't any record of him going to college. He wasn’t the type to study. But his family runs an onsen business close to their home.”

He glanced at me, clearly relieved I hadn’t hit him again yet, and rushed on. “Yoon… he got accepted into Tokyo University. He’s probably there now, but I don’t know exactly where he’s staying.”

I snapped the folder open and scanned the addresses and full names.

Kenta Ishida. Ren Yoon.

“Did you happen to remember anything else?” I asked, already raising my fist.

He cringed, shaking his head frantically. “That Ishida guy… he was quick to get into fights. Got sent to the office a couple of times. In contrast, Yoon always behaved. He graduated with full honors and was respected by everybody. I never saw them really interacting, though!”

My fist cut him off.

He doubled over and crumpled to the pavement with a heavy thud.

“Tell me the truth,” I said, looking down at him.

“That is the truth,” he barely managed to gasp.

I turned and walked away, throwing a final warning over my shoulder. “I’ll be seeing you again soon.”

It took a long walk to get there; there were no more trains at this hour. First, I went to his house. It was huge, built in an old-style Japanese architectural design. The gorilla’s house.

I looked around. It was too late to do much of anything, so I just scouted the neighborhood, noting that most of the buildings shared the same traditional look. Then I found the onsen. It looked typical enough, but it was much bigger than I expected. Of course, it was long closed past midnight, but just knowing its location felt like progress.

Now I can set a trap and beat the shit out of him later.

As I turned to leave, the heavy sound of a sliding tatami door cut through the quiet night. A girl’s voice drifted out, dripping with annoyance.

“That bastard never calls. Seriously, he’s such an asshole after everything I did for him...”

I kept walking but stole a quick glance. As soon as I cleared the corner, I sped up and melted into the shadows behind a wall.

What the hell…? She looks familiar.

I watched from the dark as she passed, my eyes immediately locking onto her body. She had an incredible figure that swayed with every step—massive tits, a heavy ass, and a tiny waist, all packed tightly into a yukata that looked ready to burst. I never forget a body like that.

When the moonlight finally caught her face, the gears in my head slammed into overdrive.

I closed my eyes, the memory hitting me instantly.

Back at the cinema… when Alice and I were on our date, and Yui was tagging along as our chaperone. The images flashed violently through my mind.

Me and Alice seated in the dark. Yui sitting right behind us. But a couple of rows ahead, there was another couple making out—hugging, kissing, completely lost in each other. That couple. The sexy chick in heels, a mini skirt, and a top showing deep cleavage…

Another image hit me: her and the guy walking out of the cinema together, his hand groping her ass like he owned it.

It clicked. My eyes snapped open wide.

I waited a beat, then started tailing her from a distance, staying far enough back in the dark so she wouldn’t notice. She trotted along in her sandals until she reached Kenta’s house, slid the door open, and went inside.

I stayed put, leaning against a wall farther down the street, my chest heaving. My mind was racing, desperately calculating the timeline.

Alice. That bitch had the baby about a month ago… in June. On December 1st—her birthday—she already had a small, visible baby bump. That means she must have gotten pregnant a couple of months before that, right around October. And when the hell did we go to the theater? It was at the very end of September. Yeah. The movie had just come out in theaters.

My breath grew heavy as the truth finally slammed into me.

Yui had just left the cinema hall. Alice and I got heated, leading to our first real kiss and make-out session. I’d stopped myself, terrified I’d lose control, and headed to the restroom to cool off. That’s when I stumbled onto Yui’s altercation with her manager—the fight that got us banned from the theater.

Another image flashed vividly through my head: this same sexy woman walking out of the theater and heading into that exact restroom right after the manager incident. Meanwhile, I had gone after Yui, and we stayed outside the theater until the movie ended.

Which meant there was a stretch of time where Alice and that woman’s boyfriend were left completely alone inside the dark cinema.

I tried to recall his face, but I couldn’t. Back then, I was too wrapped up in Yui and Alice—and too easily distracted by this woman’s body—to care. But one thing was crystal clear now.

He wasn’t the gorilla. His build was completely different.

But he was definitely connected to him. Through this woman.

I kept glaring at the house, running through every dark possibility, imagining all the things I could do to her. My jaw ached from how hard I was clenching it, but I forced myself to snap out of it. Don't be stupid. Do that, and you'll just get sent straight back to jail.

At the very least, I needed to get my revenge first. After that, it didn't matter what happened to me.
