Three Divine Wishes: Yes, I'm OP!

Chapter 248: The World of Resources - Time... Ticks

Luna answered Liliana’s last remark with a light laugh and kept walking, leaving the Dark Hold behind as if the warning had been only another course at a long table.

In her mind, there was no contest for Akasha’s love worth taking seriously.

He was not a man who weighed one person against another and then chose a favorite.

Once someone entered his personal space and became part of the world he kept, they were entitled to everything he had to give.

Teasing Liliana was amusement, not some defense, and the knowledge of that sat easily in her chest as she rose.

They climbed until the black castle was only a distant speck against the land and the two suns of Cylas hung level with their shoulders.

The wind tugged at Liliana’s blood-red coat as the high-altitude air thinned and chilled around the edges, yet it still held the faint sweetness that Luna carried with her, a warmth just as noticeable against the sharp sting of the cold.

Liliana’s crimson eyes lingered on Luna’s back, her jaw still tight from the moment the word "love" had been spoken in her own chamber.

Luna’s pink-and-purple hair floated gently with the current, giving her an almost ethereal presence, as though the sky itself had been holding its breath, waiting just for her.

Liliana watched her for a long moment before she trusted her voice.

"How," she asked, "is anything you are about to do supposed to make this better for everyone?"

In truth, Liliana had no real idea what Luna meant by "better" anyway.

The phrase Luna used—"making this better for everyone"—was, to be honest, far too vague. Still, as noted, Liliana had no way of knowing just how powerful Luna truly was.

Luna twisted gracefully in the air, the heart-shaped glimmer in her eyes catching the light of both suns at once.

"You’ve heard of the Pantheon by now, haven’t you?"

Liliana gave a single nod as her hand tensed at her side until the leather of her glove let out a faint creak, then relaxed again.

"Right... I got a notification about becoming a Devotee not too long ago." She said as she continued.

"Though, I didn’t look into it much beyond reading the creed."

"Good then," Luna said with a smile, "As... you should know, everything that has been happening has been for the furtherance of the Pantheon of Infinite Dreams."

She lifted one hand and opened it toward the world beneath them.

HUMMMMMM!!!!!

With just a thought and a shift of her desires... Purple and pink brilliance tore across Cylas in a single spreading wave.

It climbed out of the land and the clouds together, so dense it swallowed the white-and-gold plains, the cities, the hanging stronghold, even the color of the twin suns.

Instantly, heat pressed against Liliana’s cheeks without burning.

For a few moments, the sound of the wind faded into nothing, and all she could hear was the quiet, steady rhythm of the world shifting around her.

And... then the brilliance died.

What remained was no longer the world she had spent a month rewriting.

Cylas had become nothing more than a wide stretch of pale, unbroken stone that seemed to go on forever.

There was no trace of grass, no winding roads, and not even the shadow of a looming black castle in sight.

At its heart, three massive ponds lay clustered in the shape of a flower, their surfaces so perfectly still they seemed more poured from glass than born of nature.

The two suns returned above that stone flower and found nothing left to warm except water and rock.

Liliana’s face drained of all color, and she let out a faint, shaky breath that carried the weight of disbelief.

Her voice trembled as she finally managed to speak, the words barely more than a whisper.

"What... what did you do?"

She had never witnessed such... a feat: terraforming an entire world. However, how could she know... that this was only a fraction of what Luna could do?

Luna smiled and named the result without slowing for the shock.

"Well, this is no longer the world of Cylas," she said. "It is the World of Resources."

For a long while, Liliana could only stare at the world below her.

Where white-and-gold grass had run to the horizon, there was only pale rock now, so complete that her mind kept searching for a grass plain, a river, a rooftop, anything that proved the month she had spent here had happened.

Liliana brushed off the lingering shock, rolling her shoulders as if to shake it free. When her gaze returned to Luna, her voice had sharpened once more.

"What exactly did you do to all the inhabitants?"

The words carried weight beyond the fate of Cylas’s people.

Beneath them, there was a chill calculation she couldn’t quite suppress, numbers and consequences lining up in the back of her mind.

’Don’t tell me... was it all for nothing?’ she wondered, unable to shake the weight of the contracts from her mind.

The creed she had painstakingly rewritten, the Angels she had bound to her will, the Second Dark Hold she had filled in her father’s name—none of it seemed to matter now.

If the world itself was literally different, what reinforcements could be left to bring to him?

Her shock shifted into frustration, then flared into something fiercer.

She pulled her shoulders in, her lips parting as if to speak.

In a blink, Luna disappeared from where she’d been hovering and reappeared right in front of her, pressing a finger gently to Liliana’s lips.

"Oh... shh."

The laugh that followed was soft, warm, and completely unrepentant.

"I told you, didn’t I?" she asked with a tilt of her head. "I’m making everything all better, aren’t I?"

Liliana swatted her hand away, the sharp smack stinging her own palm in the process.

"Spill the beans."

Luna chuckled again, unfazed, and slowly turned her hand over.

HUMMM!!!

In that instant, a tiny replica of the Dark Hold emerged from her palm, its black walls and recognizable towers shrunken to the size of a trinket yet radiating a weight that seemed to thicken the very air around it.

She let it hover effortlessly, and Liliana’s eyes widened despite herself.

"This can be considered a Divine Ranked artifact," Luna said. "It holds both of your Dark Holds. The one from Kalpa, and the new one."

The tiny castle slipped from her grasp and drifted toward Liliana, who found it settling into her hand before she’d even thought to reach for it, her fingers curling around it as though it might disappear just like the grass had.

"Your father is already on his way to the world of Loreua," Luna went on. "He should be there in just a year."

Her form was already fading at the edges, wisps of pink and purple smoke swirling around her as she began to depart, the echo of her laughter still lingering in her voice.

"Use your Dark Hold," she said, "and you can arrive at the same interval."
