Chapter 124: Dawn of The Endless Dream (3)
"You... reveal your true identity, origin, and purpose within this star system. Speak without falsehood."
The Language of Gods settled over Akasha like an invisible chain.
He frowned under the weight of the pressure, words slipping out before he could stop them, guided by the command as he shaped them with care.
"My name is Akasha," he said, voice steady, measured. "Leader of Dreamer’s Peak. My purpose in this star system is to protect it... and make it safe for my livelihood, and for my family."
Amaterasu’s golden eyes narrowed, and the solar fire dancing along her pure white sword flared with sudden intensity.
"That... has to be a lie," she said, her voice as sharp as the blade still poised at his throat.
"You’re clearly not from this star system!"
Her arm tightened, every muscle ready to unleash a strike. Nara’s green eyes stayed fixed on him, their gaze colder, more calculating than before.
When she spoke again, it was in the same ancient and resonant Language of the Gods.
"Akasha, is it? What Star System do you originate from?"
Akasha met her gaze without flinching. "None."
A brief silence stretched.
"As far as I am concerned," he continued, "the world of Kalpa is my home. It is the only place I have ever been... in my long life of twenty-nine years."
In that moment, both goddesses froze.
Amaterasu lowered her sword just slightly, and for the first time, Nara’s green eyes widened. For him to be in the same realm of power as them—and not even a century old—was the very definition of absurd.
"Twenty-nine... years?" Nara’s voice lost a trace of its usual calm.
Akasha gave a single, graceful nod. Inside, caution wound itself tighter.
’This... Language of Gods thing is seriously over the top,’ he thought, though he wasn’t exactly being mind-controlled.
Not quite at least...
It was the verse of Pantheos itself that made him speak and reveal truths.
That was the nature of the script—like Divinity, it could accomplish anything, only without any cost.
The sole requirement was comprehension, and mastering it was among the hardest feats imaginable.
The fact that Nara spoke it so effortlessly only underscored the depth of her power.
And throughout the entire interaction, Akasha’s abyss-black eyes followed every minute shift in their stances, every subtle flicker of power.
"If you have no harm intended for this Star System....Tell me, why were you hiding from the Rulers of it?"
Akasha took a slow, deliberate breath, steadying himself.
’Dammit...’ he thought, already aware that whatever came next would back him into a corner.
Still, just like before, no matter what his mind screamed or how much he wished to hold back, his lips began to move on their own.
"I was figuring out... how I’d handle the two of you once you were done with Izanami."
As the last word left his mouth, something shifted in his vision.
Golden characters began to form in the air around Nara’s lips—living script of pure authority hanging like burning threads.
A soft status prompt flickered at the edge of his awareness.
[Comprehension of the Language of Gods has deepened.]
Nara took a step forward, her long green hair swirling around her like living vines caught in an unseen breeze. Lifting one hand with calm certainty, she spoke once more.
"Seal... his connection to the Sea of Stars... now!"
In that moment, as her words left her lips, Akasha felt absolutely nothing.
No restraint touched the depths of his being.
Even though it was technically the first time he’d heard the phrase "Sea of Stars," he instantly connected the dots.
’I suppose I should be grateful for the Dreamer’s Sea of Stars,’ he thought with quiet contentment.
Outwardly, a frown creased his face, playing the role of a man stripped of his power. Inwardly, a faint smile took shape.
In that moment, he suddenly grasped the meaning of the words before him.
’Hmm... so I can only perform basic commands...’ he thought, realizing that thanks to his Divine Eyes of Origin, he could now form the simplest of sentences—things like "Free me," "Displace me," and so on.
Nara stepped closer until there was barely any space left between them.
She leaned in, drawing a slow, deliberate breath as his scent washed over her, and her green eyes narrowed with quiet intensity.
"Boy... What kind of elf are you?"
"White Elven," Akasha answered.
Nara arched a brow and glanced toward Amaterasu.
"...This man is definitely not from the Orin Star System." It’s something they both knew... however, they also knew that under the influence of the Language of Gods... Akasha couldn’t exactly lie to them.
In that moment, the question arose: how could a being not from another star system be such an abomination by the Orin Star System’s standards?
Yet, despite the weight of that question, this was precisely the moment Akasha had been waiting for.
His lips curved into a faint, almost courteous smile. Those abyss-black eyes caught the exact instant Nara’s green gaze drifted from him to her companion.
And in that instant... he spoke in the Language of Gods.
"Remove restrictions."
The simple command wove itself into the very fabric of the realm, loosening the invisible net Nara had crafted just enough.
This entire confrontation... Akasha remained exactly where he had been the entire time—cross-legged in the open void, the Dreamer’s Scythe resting across his lap.
And in that moment, he didn’t stand, nor did he run.
In the span of a single heartbeat, he slipped quietly into Amaterasu’s dreams, the scythe still gripped firmly in his hand.
Nara’s green eyes darted to the now-empty space where he had been sitting, and her voice sliced through the turbulent sky, edged with the weight of sudden understanding.
"Did he just—"
Inside the soft darkness of Amaterasu’s dream, Akasha’s quiet voice, shaped in the Language of Gods, brushed against the deepest part of her mind.
"Sleep tight."
In an instant, Amaterasu’s gleaming white sword slipped from her grasp, vanishing into the emptiness.
Her body went slack, drifting weightless and unconscious through the wreckage of the void.
The solar flames that once danced brightly across her skin gave a final, feeble flicker before fading into complete stillness.
Nara’s vivid green eyes scanned the wreckage of the void, her long, flowing hair shifting in unseen currents as her guard instinctively rose.
In her grip, a bow of living wood and shimmering light materialized silently, an arrow already set in place, its tip pulsing with a vibrant energy of life potent enough to choke out even death itself.
Far away, Akasha appeared once more, seated in a calm cross-legged pose, the Dreamer’s Scythe laid gently across his lap.
His deep, abyss-black eyes fixed on her with a quiet, deliberate caution, while above them, the chaotic sky howled and tore at the space between them.
He kept his weapon lowered, speaking in a calm voice that carried easily over the distance.
"Shall we talk on common ground now?"
