Chapter 118: Yomi’s Reckoning (6)
[Decree of Severing Fate (Celestial)]
HUMMMMM!!!!
"By my authority as the God of Severing Fate," Jovian proclaimed, his voice echoing through the shattered sky, "For the rest of this battle... whatever demise you seek... shall be severed!"
The Celestial Decree sank into the battlefield like a blade through silk.
Instantly, Golden fate threads flared and snapped all around him, cutting away every immediate path that led to his death.
Akasha stepped calmly out of the fading remnants of Jovian’s dreams and appeared directly in front of him.
His face held an almost calm ease, as if nothing could rattle him. Then, with swift and fluid precision, one hand shot forward, clamping firmly around Jovian’s throat.
The grip tightened, fingers pressing in with unyielding force.
For a split second, it looked as if Akasha would crush the life out of him and snap his neck.
Then a flash of pure golden fate erupted.
Jovian’s body was displaced in an instant—teleported by the remnants of his own severed threads into a perfect counter-attack position.
His leg was already whipping around in a full-powered kick aimed straight at Akasha’s temple.
Akasha’s faint smile remained unchanged, a quiet confidence etched across his face.
In that moment, one of his innate Primal Beastkin traits surged forth, raw and undeniable.
HUMMMMM!!!!
At his unspoken command, the power of Territorial Dominion rose to answer, an invisible force responding to his will with instinctive precision.
The land and space within his Divine Sense suddenly recognized him as their absolute ruler.
The air itself thickened around Jovian, pressing against his limbs like heavy water.
And the chaotic winds that had been howling a moment ago now flowed with Akasha even more so, feeding him speed and power while dragging against every movement Jovian made.
Jovian’s jaw tightened as the pressure slammed into him.
’How much damn... power is this guy hiding?
His thoughts raced even as he forced his body to adapt.
Akasha’s abyss-black eyes studied him with quiet interest.
For the first time since the fight truly began, he spoke again, his voice calm and almost conversational despite the storm of chaos raging around them.
"Oh... Jovian Savant," Akasha said, tasting the name. "The... Transmigrator."
BOOOOOMMMMM!!!!!
Akasha snatched the incoming kick with one hand like it was nothing. For a brief moment he held Jovian suspended in the air by the leg, abyss-black eyes watching him with mild curiosity.
Then he squeezed.
A sickening series of wet cracks echoed through the chaotic sky as every bone in Jovian’s leg shattered at once.
A surge of white-hot pain shot through his body, forcing his back into a sharp arch as a raw, choked cry escaped before he could hold it in.
His free hand shot toward the hilt of the Fate Breaker Sword, fingers straining to close around it even as pain threatened to white out his vision.
"SHIT—!"
Akasha continued speaking as if nothing had happened, still holding the ruined leg with effortless strength, as if the Tier 30 output meant nothing to him.
"Do you really want to go along with this?" he asked, his tone almost thoughtful. "I know... you don’t care about this world. You’re in the Underside because you need a starship."
Jovian’s fingers tightened around the hilt of his sword, knuckles pale. Sweat gathered on his forehead beneath the blindfold.
’This guy has seen... too much of me...’ he thought.
Akasha’s faint smile returned, sharp and measuring.
"The question is..." he murmured, "what if... I gave you one?"
However... before Jovian could even process the words.
Akasha spoke again, voice calm and clear even over the screaming storm of chaotic phenomena. His own Decree bloomed.
"By the Authority of Dream Land," he said with a slight tilt of his head, "no Decree other than mine or an ally’s will ever work within my Divine Sense."
HUMMMMM!!!!!!!
The moment the words settled, Jovian felt it.
His Celestial Decree—the one that had been shielding him from certain demise—vanished. The golden threads that had been protecting him unraveled into nothing.
A jolt of icy shock shot through his chest.
"What the... fuc—"
Before Jovian could react or spin another thread of fate, Akasha swung his arm and sent him hurtling through the air like a shattered spear.
Jovian’s body became a white blur as he rocketed toward the purple-and-white barrier of the Domain, right toward where Sunya still lay broken and bleeding against it.
Just before he could smash into the barrier, Sunya’s green eyes snapped open.
[Nature’s Friend]
HUMMMMM!!!!!!
"Please..." she murmured, her voice gentle and tinged with a quiet plea, as though addressing an old friend. "Help keep us safe."
And without pause... the world replied.
HUMMMMM!!!!!!
Nature itself surged upward in a violent, beautiful explosion of green.
Massive vines and living branches erupted from the chaotic sky, wrapping around Jovian’s tumbling form with surprising gentleness and slowing his momentum until he was safely caught in a cradle of living wood and leaves.
At the same time, her second trait activated.
Eternal Healing swept through her shattered body, bones snapping back into place with faint cracks.
Torn skin mended itself, bruises melting away. Within moments, she was on her feet again, looking nearly whole, though her breath still came a little uneven.
She cast a sharp glance at Jovian as the vines lowered him beside her.
"Look.... we need to do this together," she said, green eyes locked on Akasha’s distant figure. "He’s too strong for either of us alone."
Jovian let out a pained, breathless laugh as he forced himself to float upright on one good leg, Fate Breaker Sword still gripped tightly in his hand.
Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth, but the wild edge had already started creeping back into his grin.
"Together, huh?" he muttered, swiping the blood from his face with the back of his hand.
"I’ve got to admit... I didn’t expect to hear that from you so soon. But yeah, sure. Let’s see if we can actually leave a mark on this monster."
A low chuckle drifted across the chaotic sky.
Akasha hovered in the heart of the storm, black-and-white hair drifting around his four black-and-grey horns.
A short distance behind him, safely inside the purple-and-white barrier of the Domain, Luna and Yume watched in silence.
Luna’s pink-and-purple hair swayed gently as she rested her chin on one hand, eyes gleaming with quiet amusement.
Yume stood beside her, cooler, blue-streaked hair motionless, expression unreadable but attentive.
Akasha’s abyss-black eyes settled on Jovian once more. His voice carried easily over the screaming winds, calm and almost curious.
"Are you really planning to die for a starship?" he asked. "Instead of simply sitting down and negotiating?"
As soon as the words slipped out, Sunya’s green eyes darted to Jovian.
A flash of caution spread over her face like an unexpected chill. Her fingers curled tighter around the grip of her Primordial bow.
’Is he actually... considering this?’ she wondered as tension tightened every line of her stance.
Though the Supreme Goddess had sent Jovian, that did nothing to earn Sunya’s trust.
Right now, she saw him only as someone compelled to help because of his own weakness... and even in her battered state, she’d caught every word Akasha had spoken earlier.
’I might actually... have to retreat,’ she admitted silently, knowing she’d never wanted to cross paths with Akasha in the first place.
Yet in that moment, Jovian laughed—a rough sound, still laced with that same reckless edge.
[Fate Severing Adaptation (Above Origin)]
He raised the Fate Breaker Sword and sliced cleanly through the fate threads connected to his shattered leg and battered body.
In an instant, the worst of the damage began to reverse itself.
His bones shifted back into place with soft, wet cracks, while torn muscles wove themselves together seamlessly.
The searing pain eased into a steady, bearable throb.
He flexed his newly restored shoulder, testing its strength, and a broad smile spread across his face.
"Listen up, buddy... If I survive," he called out, pointing the tip of his sword at Akasha, "then we can negotiate something. Though... right now, I only want to see how strong the great Lord Dream really is."
Hearing this, Sunya let out a slow breath through her nose, choosing not to argue.
In an instant, her attention zeroed in on a possible line of attack, and both of them grasped the same grim reality.
Decrees wouldn’t help here, and neither would Kingship Authority—since Akasha’s strength far outmatched theirs.
That left only one option.
Their gazes locked for the briefest moment before they spoke in unison, their voices echoing across the shattered sky.
[Empress’ Expanse of Eternal Hours]
"I am the Goddess of Eternal Hours!"
[Emperor’s Expanse of Severing Fate]
"I am the God of Severing Fate!"
