Chapter 409: Alora is pregnant!
Days passed after Lillian and Lewis’s marriage. Even Izaak and Melody had departed, while Alaric and Scarlet were away on a month-long vacation outside Velaris.
Alora closed her personal diary with a contented sigh, having penned down all the recent happy events. She carefully placed the diary back in her drawer, but as she did, a strange sensation washed over her. A sudden thirst for blood gripped her, accompanied by an unexpected heat spreading through her body.
It was unlike anything she had experienced before. Alora had never felt a desire for blood this intense. Confused and restless, she left her bedchamber, hoping to find Selvina to ask her to fetch some blood, only to recall that Selvina had gone out with Griffin.
The sweet, intoxicating scent that teased her nostrils was impossible to ignore. She found herself instinctively following it, her senses heightened and her steps purposeful. The scent led her to an unexpected sight—Magnus, standing before her in the hallway, coming from the council. Behind him Tobias was standing.
Magnus looked surprised to see her. "Alora? Is everything alright?" His voice was calm, but his keen eyes didn’t miss the way she seemed tense, almost... hungry.
Alora took a step back, realizing how intense her stare had become. She could hear his pulse, the scent of his blood so strong it almost made her head spin. She clenched her fists, trying to regain control. "I—I’m fine, just a little... distracted," she managed to say, her voice strained.
Magnus raised an eyebrow, taking a cautious step closer. "Distracted? By what?"
She hesitated, unsure how to explain. "I... I need blood," she finally confessed, her voice barely a whisper. "I don’t know why, but I’ve never felt this way before. I feel attracted to your blood. It’s... overwhelming."
Magnus’s expression softened further at her admission, concern flickering in his eyes.
Tobias, sensing the urgency of the situation, quickly excused himself. "I’ll bring fresh blood for Princess Alora," he said, bowing slightly before hurrying away.
As soon as Tobias was out of sight, Magnus turned his full attention back to Alora. He gently took her hands in his, immediately noticing the unnaturally high temperature of her skin. "You’re burning up," he murmured, his voice laced with worry. "Why are you so hot?"
