Chapter 265: A sweet man
Melody entered the bedchamber, where Izaak awaited her. As her gaze lowered, she found him standing beside her, the door closing with a muted thud behind them.
In a graceful motion, he gathered her into his arms, her slender frame fitting perfectly against his chest. Her hands instinctively found their way around his neck, seeking support and closeness in the warmth of his embrace.
Looking up, Melody gazed at his face, searching his striking features for any trace of emotion. She saw the familiar lines of his face, so handsome yet now shadowed with an emotion she couldn’t quite decipher—perhaps a mix of anger and something deeper.
Had she upset him by not asking him about his pas? Understanding Izaak was a puzzle she often struggled to solve, she found him both full of intrigue and mystery.
As Izaak gently settled her onto the bed, Melody’s gaze reluctantly broke away from his captivating face. She wondered what thoughts occupied his mind and she finally spoke, "Your Highness, what’s been bothering you? Is it the memory from the past?"
Izaak peered into his eyes and sat before her. "Isn’t it strange that out of so many women, I saw you in the vision?" His question left her puzzled and she furrowed her brows slightly close.
"Yes, it is," Melody replied after a few seconds.
"I never imagined myself being attracted to a human. I loathed them," Izaak continued, his hand gently reaching to tuck a few stray strands of her hair behind her ear. The delicate touch of his fingertips sent a tingling sensation across her skin, and she blinked, meeting his intense gaze.
"Then His Highness views changed after meeting Princess Alora," Melody remarked. "Is that what bothering His Highness? Does he hate it that he saw me in his vision?" she queried.
