The Vampire Prince's Blindfolded Bride

Chapter 87: Darling, that’s quite slow

Alora sat by the window of the room and sighed. Everything that happened in the morning revolved in her mind again and again. She picked up the hand mirror and looked at her reflection in it.

"If I knew how to use my eyes well, things would have been better," she murmured.

"Why are you here?" Magnus’s voice reached her ears and she tilted her head to spot him. "Weren’t you supposed to sleep? You have a headache." His concern grew as he walked to Alora, who was on the chaise.

He noticed the mirror in her hand. Before he could seek an explanation from her, Alora said, "I couldn’t sleep. So, I thought to come here." The moment she lowered her eyes, Magnus sat next to her.

"Why do you hold this mirror?" He asked despite he already had realized Alora must be checking her eyes.

Alora remained silent. Suddenly, the brightness of her face had lost. Magnus held her hands, asking her to look at him. "Tell me what bothers you," he said. "If it’s your father, then I will–"

Alora covered his mouth by bringing her hand to it. "You don’t need to malign your hands. I feel it was my destiny to be abandoned by my father," she muttered. "Every girl is connected to her father more. I could never do that. I tried to be a good daughter to him."

Even though Alora had told Magnus earlier that she was burden-free, she couldn’t deny the fact that she always wanted acknowledgment from her father.

Magnus hearing those thoughts of her wondered how he could make Alora feel better. He made promises to her, but he couldn’t fulfill them. There would be no meaning left for more promises.
