The Vampire Prince's Blindfolded Bride

Chapter 42: I will do as I desire

Magnus opened the blindfold from Alora’s eyes and saw they were damp. She kept her gaze down and felt his thumbs on her eyes.

"Open them," he urged her, "for me."

Alora promptly did that and peered into his eyes. "I should not cry today. But I-I am un-unable to hold them." The tears rolled over her cheeks as she began weeping. Venus’s words hurt her like someone stabbed her heart. The pain she could still experience.

Magnus wiped the tears from her eyes. "She will be punished soon. I won’t hear a single word on this from you," he stated. He was fuming in anger to see Alora cry. All she wanted Venus to know was something, which could change her life forever.

"No. Don’t do that," Alora said and once again she lowered her eyes. She sniffled and rested her head on his chest. Her arms wrapped around him. "I should have listened to His Highness," she murmured.

Magnus wasn’t the type of person to stay quiet. He had decided he would make Venus cry in the worst possible way.

"Prince Magnus, Alora, what are you two doing here?" They both heard Rhea’s voice from the door.

Alora was swift to pull away and she wiped her tears while Magnus told Rhea to not come forward. "She hasn’t worn the blindfold. We will be outside soon," he said.

Rhea halted at her place and nodded at him. She wondered if Alora was fine. But in the presence of the prince, nothing could happen to her. She walked away while Alora took a breath of relief.
