Chapter 352: Clash
“Clang.”
Hashirama blocked Madara’s sword with his own, sparks flying between them.
“Madara, let’s end this fight. Enough men have fallen. This won’t bring our brothers back, erase the blood that was spilled, or change anything. All it does is add more corpses, more tears, and more orphans.”
But Madara did not answer. All he did was continue pressing against Hashirama’s sword until he forcefully pushed it away, then took two steps back before charging forward again, as though Hashirama’s words had never reached him, or perhaps they had, but simply bounced off the wall of silence he had built around himself.
The battle between the two clans continued raging around them, while the cries of the warriors, the ringing of swords, and the sounds of explosions filled the air.
Even after the two became patriarchs, they were unable to end the bloodshed and wars because the elders of both clans refused to accept it. They continued pressuring the two young patriarchs to avenge those who had been killed.
They even continued reminding them of every drop of blood that had been spilled, every brother they had lost, and every pain they had endured. The members of each clan refused to allow this war to die, because to them, it was a matter of honor that could never be surrendered.
Boom.
Madara used the skeletal arm of his Susanoo to smash the massive wooden pillar coming toward him. Then the two young patriarchs looked at each other, and strangely, neither found hatred or a desire for revenge in the other’s eyes. There was only exhaustion and sorrow, along with the feeling that they were trapped in an endless cycle they could not escape.
Then, as though a silent understanding had passed between them, each of them threw his sword to the ground and moved toward the other, engaging in close-quarters combat with their bare hands.
At the same time, when everyone in the battle saw that the two patriarchs were about to clash directly, they moved away, especially since this had become a rule whenever a major battle erupted between the two clans.
This was because both of them used an extremely destructive taijutsu technique, especially to everything around them, and anyone who approached them while they were fighting would be in danger of death from the sheer force of their collisions.
Boom.
Boom.
The sounds of explosions spread through the area as Hashirama and Madara’s attacks collided. They were using the technique Leon had taught them years ago, which relied on successive Chakra Waves and granted them tremendous power in close-quarters combat.
Every punch they threw released waves that shattered the ground and shook the air, to the point that their battle resembled a storm of power that no one could stand in the path of. Yet strangely, each of them knew the other’s movements, as though they were performing a deadly dance of blood that no one but the two of them knew.
In another dimension, Dan raised his head from his desk, where he had been reading the results of one of Hoshi’s recent experiments.
“That troublesome child. Your interference has caused so many changes.”
