God-Tier Sniper's Interstellar Execution

The Execution Broadcast(1)

The Abyssal Rift was a place that did not forgive mistakes.

It did not care if you were a hero, a villain, or a god.

If you bled, you died.

If you made a sound, you died.

If you stopped paying attention for a single fraction of a second... you died.

Warden Silas and his elite guards were currently making all three of those mistakes.

Squeltch. Squeltch. Squeltch.

The heavy, metallic thud of reinforced Vanguard combat boots sinking into the black mud echoed loudly through Sector 4.

Jax and Vance, the two Rank-C guards, marched in a loose wedge formation, their high-powered mana-rifles sweeping the darkness.

They were relying entirely on their built-in helmet optics and thermal sensors.

It was a fatal error bred from surface-dweller arrogance.

Down here, the darkness didn't just hide things; it swallowed technology whole.

Behind them walked Silas, his face illuminated by the cherry-red glow of his expensive synthetic cigar.

He didn't fucking bother carrying a weapon.

Surrounding his rotund body was a shimmering, translucent blue sphere of condensed magic.

A Tier-4 Aegis Shield.

It was military-grade protective magic, capable of withstanding a direct hit from a tank shell or the crushing jaws of a Behemoth-class monster.

He felt entirely invincible.

"Check those thermal readings again, Vance," Silas barked, pulling the cigar from his teeth and blowing a thick cloud of aromatic smoke into the stagnant cave air.

"Still getting a faint echo of the tracker ping, Warden," Vance replied, his voice tinny through his helmet comms. "Sixty meters ahead. Directly through this gorge."

Silas chuckled, patting his massive stomach with disgusting satisfaction.

"Good. The bastard probably crawled into a hole to die like a fucking rat. Keep your eyes peeled for pieces. I need the head intact."

They marched straight toward the jagged, ten-foot-wide gap between the towering stalagmites.

From the absolute pitch-black void of the right stalagmite, Kaelen Cross watched them.

He was standing less than fifteen feet away.

His E-Tier Shadow-Weave Cloak absorbed every single photon of light, masking his body heat and his newly mended puddle of mana completely.

He didn't breathe. His mind was a quiet, frozen hell.

His silver eyes were locked onto the thick, heavy combat boots of the lead guard, Jax.

Up in the corner of his vision, the holographic chat was going absolutely nuclear.

[User Zark: They're walking right into it! They don't even see the wire!]

[User Blood-Fiend_99: YES! SLAUGHTER THE PIGS! WOOOO!]

[User Weapons_Nut_44: The arrogance of these surface-dwellers is staggering. They're relying entirely on thermal optics in a high-density mana environment. Absolute rookies.]

[User Star_Dust_69: Look at the fat one's shield. Tier-4 Aegis? That's going to be hard for the human to break without magic.]

[User DragonBoredom: A shield is only useful if it protects you from the environment you are in. Watch closely, little ones.]

Kaelen's finger rested lightly on the trigger of 'Vengeance'.

He counted their steps.

Every breath they took was a second closer to their execution.

Three.

Jax took a heavy stride forward, sweeping his rifle to the left, completely blind to the abyss staring back at him.

Two.

Vance stepped up behind him, covering the right flank, his movements rigid, trapped in the illusion of safety.

One.

Jax lifted his right boot, stepping directly between the two hidden, mud-covered explosive acid vials.

He brought his foot down.

His ankle caught the invisible, highly tensioned tripwire of Shadow-Weaver sinew.

Snap.

It wasn't a loud sound. It was just a faint, microscopic pop of tension releasing.

But in the dead silence of the Rift, it sounded like a judge's gavel slamming down on their death sentences.

The invisible wire yanked violently on the fragile spider-silk caps of the hollowed-out monster bones buried in the mud.

Both caps tore off simultaneously.

Inside the bones, the highly unstable, highly pressurized Rank-C Crawler acid was suddenly exposed to the open air.

It violently depressurized.

SHHHHLLLLLLLLCK!

It didn't explode with fire. It exploded with a blinding, neon-green horizontal geyser of sheer, liquid death.

A pressurized mist of highly corrosive acid sprayed inward from both sides of the gorge, instantly enveloping Jax and Vance from the waist up.

"What the fu...." Jax started to say.

He didn't get to finish the word.

The acid struck his reinforced, military-grade Vanguard armor.

The metal didn't just melt; it violently flashed into toxic, bubbling slag in a fraction of a millisecond.

HISSSSSSS!

A horrific, deafening sizzle echoed through the cavern, accompanied by thick plumes of acrid, yellow smoke.

The acid tore through the armor, bypassed the thermal under-mesh, and hit human flesh.

"AGHHHHHHHHHH!"

The scream that erupted from Jax's throat was the sound of a human soul being torn completely in half.

It was a wet, agonizing shriek that bubbled as the acid melted straight through his helmet visor and directly into his eyes.

Vance didn't fare any better.

He dropped his rifle, his heavy mechanical gauntlets clawing frantically at his own faceplate as it liquefied and fused to his jawbone.

They fell into the black mud, thrashing and screaming like damned spirits in the lowest pits of hell.

Flesh bubbled. Bone hissed.

The smell of ozone, burnt synthetic metal, and vaporized human meat hit the air like a physical punch.

[User Star_Dust_69: HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT!]

[User Gloop: BRO I CAN SMELL IT THROUGH THE STREAM SYNC! MY EYES ARE WATERING!]

[User Zark: THAT IS FUCKING BRUTAL!]

Behind them, Warden Silas had been standing just two feet away from the blast radius.

The splashing acid hit the outer layer of his Tier-4 Aegis Shield.

The blue magic flared violently, sizzling and crackling as the corrosive liquid tried to eat through the condensed mana.

The shield held.

But the sheer thermal shockwave and the violent expansion of toxic gas hit the barrier like a speeding truck.

Silas was thrown backward off his feet, his massive bulk slamming hard into the muddy ground.

His cigar flew from his mouth, extinguishing in a puddle of blood.

He scrambled backward, his pristine uniform soaked in mud, his eyes wide with primal, unadulterated terror.

Ten feet in front of him, his two elite guards were now nothing more than twitching, bubbling piles of smoking black sludge.

They were unrecognizable as human beings.

Silas gasped for air, but his lungs filled with the toxic, burning yellow smoke radiating from the melted corpses.

He coughed violently, spitting up a wad of phlegm, his eyes watering.

"Cough... Who the fuck is there?!" Silas roared, scrambling to his feet, his hands shaking wildly.

He channeled his mana, throwing his arms forward.

His Tier-4 shield glowed brighter, forming an impenetrable blue wall between him and the gorge.

"Show yourself, you fucking abyssal scum! Do you know who I am?!" Silas screamed, his voice cracking with panic.

The cavern answered with silence.

Only the wet bubbling of the acid eating through the bedrock could be heard.

Then, the shadows moved.
