Naruto: A Lazy Life

-3 months later-

Pov: Takumi Uchiha.

"I am surprised you can still operate that forge... well- we helped a bit, but one arm only is still terrible to work with" Saburo comments.

"I will do just fine- maybe I can hire an assistant or something to help me if I am that bored" I yawn.

...

"How was the mission?" I ask as I clean up my personal forge.

"It was fine- no troubles" Saburo answers, as he looks over his repaired javelin hooks with tired eyes.

"It was not fine. Lot's of troubles" Yu rolls his eyes and his body- stopping his nap on the grass to look at us.

"Go back to sleep Yu- we need rest before our next mission..." Saburo yawns and seals away his weapons.

"I will give you two a three day break- report to me on your training" I ask.

"My taijutsu has been improved... I can handle myself a lot better and rely less on the sliding technique for surprise attacks" Saburo states.

"And your ninjutsu- genjutsu?" I inquire more.

"I am building up better resistance to genjutsu- but nothing too grand, I have a few more ninjutsu under my belt but I will stick to my guns for a while more before branching out. Even if it means I am a 'One-trick-Jonin', better to be tall than wide" Saburo notes.

"My sword forms are getting more precise- I can reliably cut through a few projectile Earth ninjutsu... but nothing major- My genjutsu defence is greater than it needs to be, while my ninjutsu is clearly lacking. Like you" Yu tells me.

"Hn. Very well- it is good growth for three months... I will have a few more missions ready after your rest" I nod to myself.

...

"...Perfect" Yu rolls away from me and grumbles to the grass.

-1 Month later-

"Itachi. You need to focus on improving your precision cuts- you may be called a genius but it means nothing if you practice bad habits into your stance. Look at the way you are aligning your blade to the target and reflect on what you are doing wrong" I command from my roof, as I lay down and read a romance novel.

"Understood" He states simply and meditates on his ability.

"Uhhh... am I doing good Mr Takumi?" Kana calls out from below.

The first of my trainees, Kana- the girl I saved wished to learn from me.

"You are fine, keep at it" I state.

"What about me!" Jun yells out too, clearly energetic.

"Stop yelling and continue training" I sigh.

The second of my trainees, Jun- he is lost without his parents, training enthusiastically to hide his troubles and stand tall for the other kids in the orphanage.

"Am I doing perfect?" Naoki follows, with an incredible pride behind his tone.

The third and last of my new trainees, Naoki- a very prideful kid who was called a genius by his former family.

"Hn. Something like that" I note.

...

They continue to energetically mess around with their wooden training daggers, mostly messing around like the children they are... which I do not mind at their current age.

I am starting them off with basic training, a smaller blade before I diversify them all- Stiletto daggers for all of them, basic forms, basic stances and basic taijutsu to start them all off... considering they are much less talented than Itachi who is the same age as them.

I was thinking on their future- and what would best suit them as their primary weapons.

To be both effective in a three man team of their own... and help out Yu and Saburo, or potentially other teams- I have to give them rather diverse roles to cover each other, alongside different weapons to bring out their talents.

For Kana, I will ensure she is given control and leadership over the other two- she is the most responsible and seems rather capable of commanding the other kids around her. To better that role I believe giving her polearms to train with- Halberds, Spears and axes... two handed weapons that allow you a zone of control within combat.

Jun is rather energetic and brute forces most of the tasks he is given- so I am going to give him a leading role at the front of the unit, taking on enemies directly and dealing as much damage as possible. One handed weapons would be best for him, using daggers, swords and one handed daggers to get in close and personal.

Naoki is a tricky individual, but his focus on perfection and precision leaves him to be a great assassin much like Saburo who is precise. Taking out enemies and targets in as few hits as possible, handling scouts silently and swiftly while taking down annoying targets in battle. Ranged weaponry would suit him, Shuriken, Kunai, Senbon are fitting for a standard ninja, but I will also teach him the Empires Longbow and Crossbow arts.

In due time of course- they are but children now.

*Swish- SLICE*

Itachi is the exception.

-8 Months later-

"Happy new year Captain!" Saburo shouts.

"Happy new year" Yu yawns.

"Hn? Already? Time moves fast" I yawn with Yu.

"Yeah- already a year since the nine tails attack... wish we could celebrate in better circumstances" Yu grumbles.

"This is the best circumstances we can get- we haven't gone on a mission with Captain in... well over a year" Saburo notes.

"Hn. And since midnight just struck, we should do the same" I glance over the cliff to the small farming village, armed to the teeth with Rogue Shinobi and Ronin.

"What are our orders?" The Anbu behind me asks.

...

What did my team do to have the Anbu so compliant on missions? Or are the Anbu always this willing to follow a standard teams lead?

"The Anbu team will prepare their summons and wall based jutsu to close off the escape routes- dozens will rush to leave through those exits so you will be swarmed with work. Kill any and all targets" I tell them.

"Understood" The Anbu flickers away... one lingers to stare at me before flickering with them.

"What's the fox mask have against you Captain? You met before?" Saburo asks.

"Don't know. Don't care. Saburo I need you to swiftly enter the village... Yu will then guide you to evacuating the villagers immediately. I will remain at the front door and keep anyone from leaving until you two are ready to enter as combatants" I state my orders.

...

"Alright- I can show you my progress with my javelins" Saburo smirks and jumps off the cliff- digging his heels into the incline as he uses the steep fall as momentum for his sliding technique.

Yu jumps down as well- much more slowly making his way down by using the tree walking technique.

I step off the cliff and feel the wind brush past my body- lifting my hair as I flow down to the earth-

*CRASH!*

And absorbing the impact to redirect myself towards the village using the ragdoll technique.

*Woooosh-*

I land at the front door as Saburo leaves the village with two men in his arms.

"Get back here!" A voice calls out and the humble farming village awakens.

...

I unseal my spear and brandish it by my side- holding it one handed.

"A one armed spearmen? You two eliminate them and secure the front door- we will get the human bullet!" A man barks orders, disregarding my existence.

Two shinobi dash out of the front gate- as Saburo slides past them.

They immediately attack... and I raise my weapon.

-1 hour later-

*Splatter*

The blood scatters across the ground and I sigh as I drop my axe onto the ground.

...

"You know... I thought we would need to protect you a bit more, considering you have only one arm" Saburo chuckles as he picks up his Javelins.

"Hn? I am far weaker. You did need to pick up the pace" I state.

"Right... we did not feel it" Yu mutters.

"You are used to no help from me. All help you gain will feel much more than it actually is" I tell them.

"Sure... are we leaving the Anbu to clean up while we head to the next mission?" Saburo asks.

"Hn. They are much more efficient at 'cleaning up' such slaughter. Let us get a head start on the investigation mission, and check the bounty office on the way for additional targets" I nod.

"... Great, it is somehow more work when we get your help" Yu furrows his brows and sheathes his rapier, after cleaning it.

-7 months later-

"I graduated"

"Hn" I nod.

"Didn't you just start the academy?" Naoki asks.

"Hn" Itachi nods.

"Wow! That's amazing Itachi! Congratulations! Let's celebrate!" Jun yells out.

"I celebrated with my family yesterday... it is fine to continue as normal" Itachi states.

"But we want to celebrate too!" Kana adds.

"Why can't we enter the ninja academy..." Naoki whispers to himself.

"Itachi" I state his name and drop my book. Staring him in the eyes.

...

"Sir?" Itachi responds respectfully.

"Congratulations. I admire your talent and more importantly I admire your work ethic and morals. You train to kill not for the blood of your enemies but rather to protect the blood of your allies, I have watched you grow remarkably fast and with great dedication. The light behind your eyes is both warm and understanding. You are a proud Uchiha, Student, Brother and Son, who deserves more than the world will ever give him... I compliment your work with blades. Continue as you are" I tell him with genuine compliments.

...

"Thank you sir..." Itachi bows, keeping his thoughts to himself.

But the smile in his eyes betrays his stoic face.

-1 Month later-

"Did you hear the news?" Saburo asks me as I bite into a roasted potato.

"No. I never hear the news" I note and pass the salt to Yu who gestures for it.

"Orochimaru left the village" Saburo states seriously.

"Hn. Very interesting. Which one was Orochimaru?" I finish off the potato.

"Snake sannin... part of a legendary trio of ninja- student of Lord third. Powerful and smart" Yu fills in the details as he picks at the garden salad.

"Any gravy?" Saburo asks.

"No- I forgot to purchase gravy mixture before the stores closed" I note sadly.

"You forgot because you don't like gravy" Yu accuses me.

"I would certainly remember if it tasted good" I smirk.

"How can you hate gravy...?" Saburo shakes his head.

"Like so" I dramatically impale the roast beef with my fork and eat it slowly.

...

"So- any thoughts on the snake leaving?" Yu brings back the prior topic.

"Should I have a thought?" I ask.

"He was well respected- powerful and even contended with Lord fourth for the Hokage title... And he left the village after being found doing 'redacted' in a lab located at 'redacted' to 'redacted'... you can barely read the redacted report. And I have Jonin level access" Saburo tells me.

"Then he did something so terrible you shouldn't read it. Gather a lack of care for things outside your access, focus on what you can read" I shake my head.

"I can't just blindly follow orders... what did the snake do that got him cut from the village? I even looked up to him..." Saburo sighs.

"Because of thoughts like that, the Hokage will be forced to make a more public statement to ensure loyalty among his ninja. Be patient and enjoy your dinner" I adjust my plate.

...

...

"Are you sure we can't buy a dining table? Eating on the veranda floor is getting old" Yu breaks the silence.

"Better than eating in the forest" Saburo comments.

"Or the desert" Yu adds.

"And the swamp"

"Don't forget the cliff face cave"

"Or the-"

"Enough. I get it- I made an error removing the Dining room. I will ensure we have a place to eat the next time my house gets blown to pieces. For now... I will buy a dining table we can set up in the training yard. I can do that tomorrow" I sigh.

"Sorry for cutting into your plans tomorrow... I know you needed the sleep" Yu mocks.

"Yeah, Captains been resting so hard all week... he needs the rest" Saburo shakes his head.

When did they get so annoying?
