Naruto: A Lazy Life

The Monster of Eksharn.

-The Emperor's home world-

Pov: The Empress.

"Lucius... how did the southern lands treat you?" I ask with a smile on my face, most graceful and elegant.

Lucius takes a seat opposite to me, sitting under the dark shade cast by his own Aura- Unable to make out details on Lucius, he so graciously lets me see the very dark silhouette of the 'Reaper' and two shining white pupils within the darkness he creates with his essence.

My personal assistant holds her umbrella tighter- ensuring she does not make a mistake during this meeting of the Empires greatest powers.

Excluding the Emperor of Blades of course.

"It was humid and boring. The leaders have been squashed, weaklings moving weaklings was all it was" He adjusts his clothes, as he gazes into my soul.

"I had heard rumour that Eksharn's Grand Protector favoured this little rebellion, did you inquire further?" I sip my tea politely.

"Wasn't the man you are thinking of. His disciple took his name, sided with the weaklings and created a ruckus with the common folk" Lucius replies.

"How was fighting him- I had heard the Grand protectors disciple was quite the talent, control over aspects of life and death was it?" I tilt my head.

"Yes my lady- First aspect of Dread and second aspect of passion, allowing him control over forces close to life and death" My personal assistant affirms.

"He was dead. The Grand Protector beat him down in public, which is why I was so bored" Lucius snaps his fingers.

A nearby maid rushes over with a teacup and some biscuits- plating them in front of the reaper.

"His own disciple?" I raise an eyebrow as Lucius takes one long sip of his tea.

...

"Yeah. Said he owed 'The Monster of Eksharn'- apparently my Emperor did some bullshit down in the southern lands when I was not looking" He chuckles as he politely places his cup down.

Hah. Of course his name creeps up.

"Monster of Eksharn? Remind me" I tilt my head again, looking to my personal assistant.

"A year before the Emperor was crowned he ventured into the south and started digging into someone else's business my lady. Records of this time he spent down there are hard to find... But since no one recognized the Crown-Prince they assumed he was a wandering traveller and gave him a nickname fitting his deeds. Always covered in blood and spotted surrounded in destroyed carriages, chains and more... They referred to him as more Monster than man, fighting without weapons and clawing through humans and demon alike. The Monster of Eksharn, the particularly small kingdom with a few strong players, He slaughtered most of them and left silently. Core players in those slaughtering's understand he was demolishing the slave trade in his spare time, The Grand Protector must have witnessed his deeds... or personally saved him from slavery. Rumour suggests that the Grand Protector was once a slave and so I am to assume such events transpired" My personal assistant informs me.

...

The mortals and common-folk assumed he was a monster always killing, while those on the top knew the truth- which is why he had such a horrid name spur from breaking slavers.

"Heh- you think he did that on his own or with orders from the Empire's darkness?" Lucius laughs with a chewed biscuit in his mouth.

He gets so un-mannered when talking about my husband.

"On his own. Slavery was never on that Old man's long list- did not care for it or hate it. But I know my dear had a grudge against slavers, due to that 'incident' in his youth, do you recall Lucius?" I smirk.

"How could I forget- with only one aspect... taking on a Demon king? Ridiculous... if I were not his friend before, then I would have been too scared to stay in this Empire" Lucius shakes his head.

Demon Kings. Those who have fully inverted, perverted and defiled their own path- obtaining three Impure aspects, much easier to obtain than standard Aspects as it is much swifter to dive off the path then walk it to the end like my dear did, how he obtained three aspects is beyond me. It is good that Demons lose control and purpose at that level, if any Demon King knew how to use their aspects even a little...

...

Luckily Lucius hunts them before they grow now- we don't want to wake my husband to slaughter one measly smart king now, do we?

Pov: Ken Hyuga.

"... And as seen- while powerful and competent this team is not nearly strong enough to qualify for something as powerful as full control over their mission assignments, Takumi is no elder- no clan leader and certainly not experienced enough to make such decisions, I implore you to reflect on what you all saw today and ask yourselves this... if it were the enemy and not the Hyuga they were fighting today, would they have lived?" I finish my main bullet points.

The crowd murmurs between each other- talking over the facts.

"Ken Hyuga was it?" I turn around and see Takumi holding Yu's blade by his side, gently tucking the end behind his back.

"Yes, do you wish to address the crowd- I would love to debate you on this topic" I ask the boy.

If he gets this power... he wields the same power as a Clan leader or esteemed Elder- very few gain positions capable of mission control, the Jonin-Commander being one of them. Him gaining this position means that the Uchiha have two clan members with position control, able to pick the finest missions before handing them over to the rest of the village- not only that... politically Takumi would have some weight behind his words if his team succeeds this way, perhaps having the potential to vote on very important meetings... I need to ensure that the Uchiha does not get another vote nor sway within political waters.

"Do you enjoy tormenting others?" He asks, not loud enough for the crowd gathered to hear if they were not paying attention.

"What are you accusing me of?" I ask louder, getting the crowds attention. If this is a child lashing out at me for ruining his fun... then I have the advantage in public conversation.

"It was a question- you can answer questions can you not?" The child strengthens his grip.

What an odd constitution... no training but he apparently has the body of a taijutsu master.

"I do not enjoy tormenting others- are you upset I have called out your team? Do you wish to defend your brazen power play that you made by asking for full authority over your own team?" I raise an eyebrow, looking as innocent as possible for the crowd.

"If I was making a power play I would have killed a few people in this crowd by now- I despise talking in circles for 'sway' amongst the crowd, it bothers me tremendously" He admits.

"You would have... killed some of the people gathered here?" I repeat louder.

"Are you an idiot- can't you hear me you old bag of bones?" One of his eyes twitches.

Oh- he is mad~

"I-"

"-Shut up, I need no answer from a cowardly enslaver- I don't even know why I asked, why anyone would take control over another's life is thought for lesser mortals" He cuts me off before I can speak.

...

Did Yu spill our clans secret to his captain? Thinking he can protect him? Oh child... to betray one's own clan... I need to bring him back more than ever, to ensure the Clan carries out proper discipline and damage control for our reputation.

Haa- it is not like the crowd gathered lacks knowledge on this, only the most prominent members of the village are gathered here today, the one's who were free of course. I can dismiss his hatred for our clans protection methods as loud as I wish and no foul will come my way.

"I believe you have lost me here- are we not debating your authority promotion? Why bring up the Hyuga clans safety measures?" I ask politely.

"Yu lost because you used your 'Safety Measure' to ensure he performed horribly" Takumi looks me dead in the eyes.

The crowd murmurs.

I laugh.

"How preposterous! Why would I do that? Would it not be obvious to everyone here if I did so?" I gesture to the crowd.

No one was paying attention to something as small as a twitch, no one would notice- unless they were paying attention to every detail with deep accuracy.

"So you wish to retry? I can send Masaru down here again- or perhaps Daigo would be more fitting to fight Yu? I admit you lucked out with Saburo Mori, he is talented... but Yu failed. A team built with one good crutch is no team worth anything" I settle down.

I glare right back into his eyes- meeting them and starting up a mental battle, a simple staring contest.

"Let's settle this ourselves then- a tie breaker" Takumi frowns.

"You wish... to duel me?" I raise an eyebrow.

"If you win- I lose all my authority, If I win- you release Yu from his slavery" Takumi offers with a scowl on his face.

I look past him... into the crowd and glance at our current clan head.

"Since you like 'Safety measures' so much, I will even let you mark me if you win" Takumi states a very decisively good deal.

The clan head nods to me.

"Is everyone fine with this verbal contract?" I look to the crowd.

Having an Uchiha serve the Hyuga..? Is this a dream come true?

"Absolutely not- Takumi holds no rights to sell the Uchiha bloodline" Fugaku Uchiha stands tall in the stadium.

too good to be true.

"I own my Clan Identity- I do have the right and I am willing to use it. You signed that deal yourself Clan Head" Takumi counters, not looking away from me.

...

The crowd goes quiet for a single moment... not moving at all- wondering who will speak up next.

"I believe he is correct- however I am against this as well, please think before you act young Takumi" Lord third stands up and addresses us both, I turn to bow but can still feel Takumi's gaze lingering on me.

"Thinking is for those without both passion nor purpose- I have both right now" Takumi answers.

"Very well- I accept this offer" I smile at the child.

Who does he think he is? He is a fish trapped in a well- I am far beyond his level of power to the point that he might as well have signed his soul away with that offer.

...

"Ken Hyuga- Versus Takumi Uchiha-" The announcer looks to the crowd and uneasily starts the fight.

"Stop glaring at me with that bloodlust of yours- do not blame me for accepting your terrible deal" I scoff.

"Bloodlust?-" Takumi smirks.

"-START" The announcer calls.

"-I suppose you do meet the requirements for my 'Cruelty'~" Takumi blinks.

His eyelids close... spinning tomoe hidden as I pull up the sleeves on my robe-

His eyelids open and I immediately leap back to the far end of the stadium readying myself for death.

The world seems darker- his chakra bubbles from his skin, rage radiating off of the child- the Sharingan vanishes, as his cold red dead stare digs deeper into my soul than I have ever peered into. The crowd vanishes from my mind as my heart races, breathing becomes rapid- loud- sweat drips down my forehead and my Byakugan activates out of fear not command.

...

This... is a child?

No... that is a Monster.

"Are you sure that is the stance you wish to take?"

"W-What?" I wake myself up- calming down and focusing up. How embarrassing that a child made me lose composure for a moment.

"Are you sure that is the stance you wish to take- flustered freak?"

I use my Byakugan to gaze over myself and the stance I am in- it is defensive and open to counter his attacks... what is wrong with it? Is he trying to psyche me out? Why is it... nearly working? No- I am in control. This is my training, I should not betray it- my experience states I need to counter his oncoming moves now. And I trust that experience.

*Woosh*

One blink- and that Monsters blade is inches away from my chest.

*Flick*

I deflect it and step to the side- He is there already, I deflect his next attack- but he is where I step before I can plant my foot.

He is a step ahead of me- do I really need to go all out against this thing?

My Heartbeat skips when the cold metal brushes past my wrist and all the way up to my neck.

*Bam-*

I pull out the [Eight Trigrams Vacuum Palm]- sending Takumi flying backwards and narrowly dodging death. I then immediately switch my stance to something else- something more complicated and useful- he must have designed a Hyuga-counter with Yu, I need to use something more advanced than basic Hyuga clan defensive tactics.

...

The smoke rises, and I see him stand up from the impact, undamaged.

What blessing did he receive to gain such a relentless body?

"Are you sure that is the stance you wish to take?"

He gloats- smiling as the dust settles, and switches his stance too.

Is he... adapting to my fighting style from looking at my static stance?

Is that how he read me so clearly before? Is it the sharingan? How did he do it... I had yet to make any moves, the Sharingan cannot read a still stance and simply guess the next steps to that form- that is ridiculous, stupidly so.

"As brainless as I thought"

Oh. He turned off the sharingan just before didn't he?
