Naruto: A Lazy Life

Pov: Takumi Uchiha.

19 attacks.

19 consecutive attacks from all sides.

19 Shinobi who upon attacking once, prepare to attack again and again, seemingly infinite consecutive attacks.

Overkill for just one Shinobi right?

You would think so- but they did their research, and killing 6 of them certainly made them enthusiastic.

And I am positive they will never let their guard down in front of me again.

I am currently blocking all these attacks with one dagger after all.

*Ting- Ding- Tang!- Ting!*

Metal clashes with metals as my eyes shift so quickly that all they can see is a red blur- my body managing to keep up with my eyes is an incredible feat, worthy of being called my perfect body.

"What the hell is this kid!?" One of them shouts in between breaths.

"ARRRRRGHHHH!!!" One rages against me as he slashes at me thrice in a row.

"DIE!!" One jumps over my head and slashes down.

*Ting- Ting- Tang- Ding- Woosh!*

I swiftly dodge and block all attacks- taking my breaths when I can.

[Critical Point!]

I find the perfect gap to exploit- one quick stab at a shinobi's hands and I disarm him- *Kick* before kicking the blade up into the air and blocking an attack striking from the back.

*Woosh- Bam!*

I jump up to meet the blade as it falls and kick the back of its handle- *Splatter!* The blade flies into a Shinobi's gut as blood floods out of the wound.

*Tap- Ting!*

I land on the ground and block another blow.

*Throw!*

I throw Rin up above me and immediately step forward- gliding my dagger along a blade meant to strike me and stabbing it forward- *TACK!!* I hear the metal strike bone as I push the stiletto into his neck and meet his spine.

*Fwish!*

Blood flies out as I pull the dagger out- I grab the mans sword and throw it at the other Shinobi I just wounded before.

*Stab!*

The blade strikes deep into the side of his neck and I watch both bodies fall as I reach out and catch Rin.

I grit my teeth and flare my sharingan- adjusting my centre of gravity and attempting to block all the strikes against me.

*Slash- Cut!*

Two slashes cross my right arm as I use it to block the blows when I cannot use my dagger.

Damn- two cuts for two kills. Not efficient enough for me.

'{Yes. I am sure they are upset you did not block two attacks that were almost impossible to block}'

No- I opened myself to those attacks when I took the risk to kill... I should have waited for them to make a mistake rather than creating an opening myself.

'{I was being sarcastic}'

Hn.

*Ting!*

*FWISH!!!*

I block an attack and my eye catches something behind the onslaught- two shinobi shooting simultaneous water bullets.

Hn.

*Bam! BAM!*

I hastily try and block the water- but doing so forces my hand to be knocked back and create an opening for the sword wielders... while the second water bullet thumps into my gut.

*Slash- Ting- Swoosh- ding!*

With a split second decision I drop Rin for more flexibility, gaining speed and managing to just barely block one attack while dodging two others.

*DING- SPLAT!*

I block one more attack before grabbing one shinobi's wrist and digging my dagger deep into his throat.

*snatch!*

"Got the girl- Focus on the mission!" A shinobi states and dashes away.

Haaaaa-

I can take a safe breath as all the other Shinobi abandon the idea of fighting me and start rushing towards... Konoha? Why would they be headed for Konoha?

I look at Hatake and frown.

I cannot leave him here- especially if there is reinforcements.

I rush back to him and place him on my back before sliding into a chase using the Saburo Mori style.

*Fwhoo- Fwhoo- Splatter!*

Water spits behind my feet as I apply my weight further into the ground and tilt my body forward- gaining as much momentum as I can.

*Bam!*

A water bullet strikes near me as I push forward and I watch some Shinobi purposely stay at the back of their pack to shoot at me- perhaps taking me out or at least slowing me down.

*Bam!* *Bam!* *Bam!* *Bam!* *Bam!* *Bam!* *Bam!* *Bam!*

I weave through each bullet- my eyes burning with complex speed as I calculate the safest route towards Rin.

*BAM!*

I tilt my head slightly as a water bullet glides right past it.

*CRASH!*

I speed up and catch up to the slowest shinobi- immediately crashing into him and pushing him to the ground as I slide further and further ahead.

I grab both of Hatake's hands with just one of mine as I free up the other hand- which digs into his gear and grabs multiple kunai.

*Swish- Clack- Stab!*

I throw the three kunai in my hand at the next closest Shinobi- one is deflected, the next stabs into his armour as the third gets into his eye.

He topples over ahead of me and I grab and throw another Kunai as I pass.

*Splat!*

*Ruffle...*

Hn- no more kunai- Paper Bomb?

I pull out two, that is all he had? I turn my head around... and slow down.

*SWISH!*

The Shinobi behind me catches up and slashes down at me- I let him get as close as I can while weaving past his blade slash- *THUNK* Before stuffing my hand into the top of his armour and speeding fully to my left.

*BANG!*

I lean even further forward- dangerously forward as I speed up as fast as I can. Had I mastered the technique like Saburo I would have caught up again by now.

*Bam!- BAM!*

The water bullets start up again as I meet the next few shinobi- the new slowest of the pack.

Forget dodging- I will use Saburo's newest forms.

*Swish- Swash-*

The water bullets ripple off my forearm as I slide them across and away from my body- draining my chakra more than it should- the benefit of this is that I do not slow down to weave and dodge the attacks- meeting the next shinobi much faster.

My eyes shine red as I watch his blade slice down on me.

Pov: Mist Shinobi.

I pull the child up over my shoulders more- readjusting as the long distance slowly becomes shorter.

"How far are we?" I ask the Shinobi to my right.

"Ten minutes from minimum destination, we should not risk this plan any further and release the beast there" The other one notes.

"Got it- where are the others? Slowing the Lazy Uchiha down?" I inquire.

"Yes, four of them are keeping him busy while the other eight are setting up an ambush he cannot see coming- when prepared the battlefield is obviously his, but he cannot defend against attacks he never saw coming" He explains.

That is the best we can do then...

*pitter- Patter*

The rain starts to fall harder around us as we rush ahead... after a couple minutes I turn my head back and search the forest behind us.

"They will be cleaning up after. we will not see them until we start returning" The other shinobi states.

"Hm- I just feel uneasy, that child was strong- far too strong to be so unnoticed, if we did not study him due to the close relation between Him and this Kunoichi..." I sigh.

"Exactly. He must be some hidden monster- trained in secret as an Anbu, I would not be surprised if our village has suffered under his hands hundreds of times before..." He replies.

"No- the information stated he had that nickname because he was too apathetic to work, he must be an unparalleled genius..." I mutter.

"Did you see his body? it was trained- not just lightly, he had been training intensely- I have never reached a fitness state that he had" He retorts.

"Ha- a lot of time on his hands to work out then" I explain.

"Still doesn't explain the nickname- it must be a trick..." He grunts in frustration.

"Yeah..." I agree and sigh.

*Vwhoooo-*

A sudden sound rings out behind me and I turn around- all fourteen shinobi sprinting in my direction- they cleaned up that quickly? They all came back unharmed? Not even one injury...?

My head slowly turns to the other side where the other shinobi was- A spear cleanly shines as it breaks through his rib and tears off a chunk of his heart.

Oh. He ignored the distractions.

*CLEAVE!*

Indisputable killing intent leaks from the tip of his spear as it pulls from the corpse that falls behind and swings at me- for a moment I can see a strange figure with red eyes behind the Lazy Uchiha... is this what everyone witnesses before dying by his hand?

Pov: Takumi Uchiha.

*Splatter- Stall-*

My spear cleanly slices across the other Shinobi's neck and he rolls to the ground- I immediately stop my momentum and slide to a stop as the dust picks up from my feet.

I Slide over to Rin and pull her from the corpse laying Hatake next to her safely.

I stand as fast as I can and ready my spear.

"Captain..! I heard you went on a mission...!" I hear Saburo's voice behind me and loosen the grip on my spear.

The enemy shinobi come to stop- hiding in the forest to evaluate the new arrival as Saburo slides to stop next to me.

"Saburo- Take Rin and Hatake to the hospital. have someone triple check Rin's status when you get there, she tried killing herself and these Shinobi want her in Konoha for some reason. Abandon her and prioritize Hatake if she looks... Explosive or otherwise" I Command.

"What about them?" He asks as he slings Hatake over his back and picks Rin up.

...

"I will ensure to track them down if they split up- it should be an easy Hunt now" I glance at Saburo who flinches upon seeing my eyes.

"-Ah, right- I will get them home safely and swiftly" Saburo nods and immediately sets off.

"So. will you run or hide?" I ask the group that calculates what to do next.

...

"No answer? Shall I speed up the process?"

I grip the spear tighter and flare my killing intent once more- eyes spinning rapidly again.

-1 Hour later-

Pov: Hiruzen Sarutobi.

"Are you certain?" I ask again.

"Very" Kushina nods gravely.

...

"You still need rest Kushina, go back to your hospital room and heal that shoulder" I sigh sadly.

"I can't just leave her here... what are you going to do? What can I do to help? Maybe I just need to check a few scrolls for the right scroll..." Kushina starts to tear up as she rattles her brains.

I look down at Rin, who grips the hospital sheets tightly as she sweats heavily.

"Lord Hokage- Would you like me to ask Captain Takumi if he would bring a Shinobi back alive for interrogation- perhaps they can stop this..." Saburo Mori bows.

"No. They would only stall for time and... we would suffer the worst outcome" I glance to the doorway.

"They are all dead anyway I presume" I ask.

"Yes. I went back to collect and clean up as well, I deposited the corpse scrolls at your desk. Luckily they packed their own bags for murder as I did not" Takumi steps through the door and glances over to Rin.

"How is Hatake?" He asks.

"Severe chakra depletion, will be knocked out for a while" I state.

"And Rin..?" He asks softly.

"We can save her- but she is a ticking time bomb, doing so would kill a lot of people" I explain.

"A bomb? So that is the reason the mist wanted her inside Konoha..." Takumi frowns.

"Are you wounded- that is a lot of blood..." Kushina asks.

"No. just a few small bruises and cuts, perhaps a broken rib" Takumi estimates.

That usually counts as wounded- but I will refrain from correcting him.

"Do you know what a Jinchurikii is Takumi?" I ask him.

"Heard about them- not much however" He responds.

"They hold something called a Tailed beast within themselves. A powerful beast that can cause immense havoc, destruction and chaos- Jinchurikii are used as weapons, Ninja with immense power to take and use" I inform him.

"Sounds like a wonderful practice" Takumi sarcastically notes.

"Right on the money..." Kushina grunts in agreement.

"Rin has had one of those Tailed beasts sealed inside of her. However... that seal was made to unravel" I continue.

"Ah- Immense havoc, destruction and chaos within Konoha" Takumi focuses on Rin.

"Precisely" I nod.

"Can you not reseal it? or safely release outside of Konoha?" He asks as he walks over to Rin's side.

"Re-sealing the beast would take a day for the bare minimum... her seal is unravelling quickly, an hour is all she has at most" Kushina states.

"And removing the beast would kill any- or most Jinchurikii" I add.

...

"Right... so she has an hour..." Takumi nods solemnly.

...

"*Cough*... Takumi...?" Rin suddenly wakes up with a sickly cough.

"Hey Rin... I am sorry for not getting to you sooner- or being there when you got kidnapped" Takumi responds softly.

"Rin...!" Kushina jumps to the other side of the bed and hugs Rin.

"Kushina...? What happened... wait- No- I have-" Rin suddenly jolts up.

*pat*

Takumi gently pushes her into the bed again.

"We know..." Takumi calms her.

"Oh- Rin, I am so, so, so, so sorry!!!" Kushina starts crying into Rin's shoulder.

"No- I am... If I didn't... Kakashi- is he..." Rin chokes out through tears.

"Hatake is sleeping. Though I understand your question..." Takumi sighs.

"I need to apologise" Rin blurts out.

"No, you did nothing wrong. Sacrifice is quite the troublesome concept, but it is clear you intended nothing but good outcomes with yours... if Kakashi believes himself to be in the wrong, to have failed you or even blaming himself for your death- then Obito would be right in calling him an idiot" Takumi replies.

"But- I-" Rin cries.

"You did the best you could with the hand you were dealt. You had the weight of this entire village pressing down on you, responsibility and morality weighed heavy on your shoulders and you lifted it with ease to make the best decision, an exemplary act of one of the finest Kunoichi in this village" Takumi resolutely states.

...

"I... Can't be saved can I...?" Rin cries even harder.

"No" Takumi holds her hand tighter.

...

Rin starts letting her tears flow freely... as her mouth opens with nothing to say.

...

...

Kushina and Rin silently cry, every so often one of them apologises again for being unable to do more.

...

"I will leave you to say your goodbyes. Rin, you have done well- no, better than just well. Takumi is correct to call you an amazing Kunoichi of the leaf village, we will forever be in your debt- for the lives you chose to save today" I bow... before silently taking my leave.

Pov: Kushina Uzumaki.

"I didn't think I would be dying with so much time in my hands... I... Don't know what to with it..." Rin breaks the silence.

...

"What would you do... if you were me..." Rin asks us.

"I would probably complain all the way..." I tell a joke through my tears.

"Yeah... I could see that..." Rin smiles warmly.

...

"I struggled to- I would have struggled to get up one last time, to do one more thing- to prove one final point. That I deserved life, that it meant something... but that would be meaningless, if I got up that act would have been disappointing, I would die as someone who only knew how to live, who never thought for one second that death could grasp them, I lived a life full of purpose and found absolutely none in death. Thinking on it, I would prefer to die happily, not struggling- not complaining, just happy. Reading a book? Surrounded by those I love... that would be a good way to die" Takumi speaks up.

"That... sounds nice..." Rin coughs.

She is looking pale... is her condition worsening? That seal is unwinding on top of that deep torso wound.

I place my palm on her stomach and use my chakra to detect the state of the seal.

...

No... No- just a bit more time... why are you coming undone so fast? Please... Please...

"Not looking good is it?" Rin asks.

"...No" I whimper.

"How long?" Takumi asks.

...

I bite my lip and take a breath as my body crumbles into sadness.

"A few minutes... maybe less" I huff out.

...

"Hn. Rin... if you have any last words, messages or things you need me to get done. Now is the time" Takumi informs her.

...

"I... think... I am content..." Rin struggles to think.

"Yeah, everyone knows you loved them, and they loved you" Takumi stands up.

"Thank you... Takumi..." She smiles.

"I will go get the doctor, stay human for a bit alright?" Takumi takes a step and I feel the seals final strand undo.

"Arghhh!!" Rin cries out in pain.

I reach for my kunai- but hesitate as I exhale and feel no desire to breath in, the second I do... is the second I realise that getting the doctor will take too long...

"It will be alright Rin" Takumi turns back around and looks me in the eyes.

I start to tear up again and nod.

Takumi straightens his hand and performs the chakra scalpel... before swiftly running the jutsu across her neck.

...

"... Sorry..." Rin mutters with the last of her breath.

"Nonsense" Takumi kneels down besides the bed.

...

"I- I should have..." I choke.

"Kushina, would you like to rest with her until she is taken? I can go get you a blanket" Takumi offers.

...

I nod.

"Very well" Takumi walks away, to grab a blanket and probably report to the Hokage just outside.

Pov: Obito Uchiha.

!

"... What... did you just say..?" I sit upright in this bed, before slowly turning towards Guruguru.

"ahhhh~! Well... that Ri~n person you keep talking about in your sleep..." Guruguru expresses once more.

"Say it again. Spit your lie again!" I throw my sheets away and stand up to confront Guruguru... shaking violently.

"Well- Rin~ has been officially declared dead... I snuck away to investigate because I know how much you liked her~" Guruguru repeats himself.

...!!!

I grip my chest and breathe out heavily- my eye burning up as I start to sweat... it was hurting so much earlier before... was it because of Kakashi?? Was he there!! Why did he not do anything! Why could he not save...

"What happened..!" I strain out.

Who did this?

"Something~ to do with Mist shinobi! I found traces of them hunting her down? But they died too! It was so weird Obito~ That Takumi guy you mentioned before did it, so swiftly!" He recalls and I start to disassociate- mind blurring as my eye starts to bleed.

...Takumi!? Takumi Killed Them!??!?

"Why couldn't he save her- What happened!! Why Didn't you tell me! what..." I stumble over and hunch down... breathing deeper and deeper.

What is this...?

"Takumi Uchiha brought her back to the village~ But was forced to end her suffering" Guruguru's voice, as silly as it is- rattles my mind and becomes domineering.

I see. This is hell.

My vision clears.
