Three Steps and one slash.
Pov: Takumi Uchiha.
First step.
He leaps forward and lunges- attempting to pierce my heart. I expected his aim to be perfect but it falters three millimetres to the right.
"Tch!" I loudly click my tongue.
*Ring~*
My hand glides along the thin blade and that sweet metallic sound rings out.
Second step.
He twists his blade to redirect his initial attack- of course he does, I lower my head before he even moves and once again use my small childlike stature to easily weave under the blade.
I'm not faster- I just know better.
*Whooo-*
My hair whips around the blade as my face rises up to glide past the shimmering metal.
Third step.
I take initiative and jab my fingers into his grip, forcing my hand through his palm and resting my fingers along the handle he held.
*Flick*
Tapping my lower fingers harder and letting the top of my hand catch the blade I flick the sword and twist it- flipping it around and I aim for his neck.
Three steps as promised to disarm him- now the final blow.
Decapitation is impossible with this sword and my strength, I imbue it with chakra but I need it to be sharper.
As I run past Purple mask I kick his shin with all my might and send the impact running along the edge of my blade.
Sharp enough to slice cleanly through- I put my momentum into the blade but not too much, just enough to slash through and then retract the blade back into the cut. Letting the head rest on it's flat face.
*SPLASH!*
His body falls forward following his initial momentum and scatters into the sea below.
I balance his head delicately on the tip of this thin blade, one wrong turn and the head will fall off.
I lower the sword and point his head at his brothers for a blow to their moral.
"I told him not to bring a blade into a battle with me- you two will have it much easier than him" I smile and tilt the blade.
*Plop*
The head plunges into the water and the sword I wield slashes through the ocean in order to clean it of it's blood.
The blade is longer then my arm- about double the length of it. Troublesome but not too annoying.
My eyes dim as I settle back into the regular fight- now that my pseudo omniscience is gone considering the other ones lack a sword, that fire within me reduces to it's resting size again.
A shame. I was having fun again for a moment.
Hn.
*SWISH!* *Wooosh-*
Black mask struggles up and instantly shoots a water bullet towards me- I flick my blade and use [Impact Return] to send it right back.
*Splash!*
A wall of water rises as Black Mask performs another set of hand signs and plunges his hands into the water.
*Sploosh!*
As the water wall descends again I notice both of them are gone. I take a deep breath and attempt to rid myself of the obvious visual genjutsu.
They send chakra like a parasite to infect my system, manipulating it from afar- I can flick this parasite off a number of ways but the Shinobi who taught me genjutsu recommended I use the method I thought of first.
Like flicking a light switch I disconnect my heads chakra system from the rest of my body and turn it back on again- for a moment I see my enemies.
Flickering into sight before vanishing again.
Damned Genjutsu- it's reapplied as soon as I turn it off.
*Flick* *Slash!*
I at least saw them throw three kunai at me- I deflect them with my jutsu using my blade.
I reset my chakra system again.
They exist for another moment and I see Black mask throwing a large wave if water at me that vanishes the next second.
I leave myself a second of time when using my impact diverting- not taking any chances as the water rushes across my body.
*SPLASH!*
I plunge into the depths and realise my mistake- If I use my jutsu for more than just a moment that cuts off my water walking from working.
My upper torso is assailed by the wave jutsu and I use the impact to fling myself upwards and back above water.
*Splash!*
I land and shake off the genjutsu again for just a moment.
I see them- except this time they don't disappear, instead they become a blurry mess. Thousands of masked men rush me and only two are real.
Hn. They would be fools to fight me in close combat while I wield a sword, especially after seeing their brother fall.
So Black mask must be preparing a rather big jutsu while I am distracted and Red mask would be distracting me with this new situation.
To catch me off guard I would take a risk- and it seems so did Red Mask.
*Slash!* *PLUNGE!*
I slash the water beneath me and transfer the energy to the top of my head- so that when I stop water walking I drop down into the sea at a high speed.
I shake the genjutsu again- and watch as Red mask flies past where I was and roll across the surface after having failed a tackle.
*Woosh!*
I reach my hand out of the water and pull myself out of the sea again- *Whoo-*
I take a step back as the boat catches some wind and takes off, driving a physical ship in-between the brothers and me.
Hn- much harder to fight on their terms.
Hn? I didn't hear the anchor raise or any sailors call to open the sails, let alone hear the sails drop down and catch wind.
I shake off the genjutsu and the boat vanishes from in front of me and returns to it's original position.
"Too late-" Black mask groans beneath his mask and finishes his final seal.
A giant dragon constructed from water whirls around him at impressive speed- it seems I gave him too much time, letting him form this jutsu.
*BURST!!*
A dragon of water rushes towards me and I lack the speed to move out of the way.
It is long- continuous, if I hold my jutsu for too long I will sink and open myself up for more attacks.
I can mitigate the damage at the very least- I jump upwards and guard with my blade.
*Woosh!*
I return the initial impact back through the water dragons head- but the tail soon flows after and whips across the sword.
*Fling!*
My arm outstretches as the sword is lost to the ocean and my body is thrown backwards- skipping across the water like a stone.
*Wooosh!*
Red mask flickers in front of me and kicks upwards as I raise my head- I pull my arms forward to block but feel no impact as the kick passes right through.
*BAM!*
A second later the real Red mask appears in front of me and kicks me across the side of my head- timing his arrival a moment after his genjutsu vanishes and I release my sleep standing jutsu.
I scatter across the water and slam into one of the docks pillars- before I can make another move I look down and see Black mask finishing up some hand signs- *BANG!*
A pillar of water shoots up and flings me through the wooden plank above me- I rise into the air and focus as quickly as possible.
*Woosh- Woosh- Woosh!*
I quickly redirect three water bullets that want to shoot me out of the air- except there were no bullets.
I turn my system on and off again just in time to see an explosive tag flying alongside a kunai right past me.
*BOOOM!*
[Impact Storage]
My back cracks along the wooden planks as my body hits the ships deck- my stomach churns in pain as I struggle to keep an explosive impact inside a chakra loop.
I turn myself over and struggle out of the impact crater- crawling for safety.
*Flicker!*
The two masked brothers flicker up onto the deck.
I can't mess with my chakra system while storing an impact- which means I cannot discern what is real or not.
But I can predict that at least one of them came up here to continue the series of attacks and leave me no room to counter.
I just don't know where he is coming from.
*SLAM!*
I slam my palm into the deck and release that explosive impact- ensuring I cut up the loose planks around me and fire the shrapnel in every direction.
I swivel my head quickly scanning my surroundings.
The shrapnel will fire in every direction- but the theoretical genjutsu is hiding the real him alongside his clothes and weapons, if the shrapnel disappears from view it's because it pierced his flesh and became a 'part of him', vanishing with him.
Just like his clothes disappear from view alongside him, his jutsu hides his presence and the shrapnel will reveal it by disappearing.
I know where he is- because I know where the shrapnel isn't!
I look up and watch as shrapnel flies in all directions.
Hn? My predictions were off? Where is he? Did no one Flicker up here? I watch the shrapnel fly through the two masked men and conclude there was a Genjutsu.
I jump to my feet stand ready to guard- *Crack!*
A hand breaks through the planks beneath me and grips my ankles.
*SLAM!*
I am pulled down into the ship- they ran inside instead of kicking me while I was down? They clearly don't underestimate others.
I absorb the impact of my knee colliding with the deck as my ankle is pulled and redirect it around my ankle to release my grip.
I pull my leg up and look down- ensuring there is no genjutsu I notice that the masked men aren't inside the ship either, that was a crew member of this ship.
I look back out into the water and can't see them- I quickly climb the ships mast and scan around.
I notice them inside the town- Red mask is carrying Purples remains as Black mask follows behind him.
They are running? Hn, I shouldn't expect everyone to fight to the death like me.
I also can't catch up- they have the body and are accelerating faster and faster.
I don't have enough impact or ability to create an impact great enough to force a fast enough ragdoll rush.
This height is not great enough to drop from.
I have not trained Saburo's technique to be better than regular sprinting yet- nor do I have any ranged abilities to stall them as I catch up.
*Catch!*
A rock is thrown by the captain of this ship and I catch it.
Hn. I need a solution to this problem.
But I lack the preparation to create a solution in this instance.
How troublesome.
*Tap!*
I jump down and use the minimal impact to accelerate me into a full sprint down the docks and back into town.
Rushing down the street and weaving through the people I take off after the two.
They speed up and I can only maintain this current speed.

Pov: Oorochimaru.
He cannot keep up, slowly falling behind...
How can one ninja be so powerful yet unprepared for combat?
It would be as if I showed up to a fight without any plans, poisons or summoning contracts available.
What exactly is this Uchiha doing?
...
I keep up with the enemy and watch them flicker faster and faster.
At the rate they are moving they will arrive at a another unit, the one my spies spotted yesterday- the two brothers are going for a healer.
I should certainly intervene... but I am also curious on how he will handle this new development? Another entire squad of shinobi?
It's just chunin but he doesn't work off of ranks does he? A taijutsu or kenjutsu master is but clay in his hands yet a genjutsu practitioner or ninjutsu user can throw him off balance.
*Hss...*
It's to do with predictability- he is talented in knowing his opponents next move and that is clearly shown in this battle. He isn't faster or stronger, lacking both genjutsu and ninjutsu.
He relies solely on knowing the battle- and with that he has already made the fight even, for 'knowing the enemy is half the battle'.
Or maybe it's the other way around? He knows himself so well that he has won half the battle... so when that sword user stepped into his domain of expertise he suddenly knew the other half of the battle.
Letting him win with ease while struggling with objectively weaker opponents.
I am ecstatic that Sensei recommended I follow for Takumi's safety... or else I would not be witnessing such a talent.
I lick my lips and keep watching the chase- I won't dare interrupt until Takumi is need of actual saving.
Thanks for reading! :)
I will be busy next week so no chapters till the 26th!
