God Crafter

Chapter 25: a narcissist

He'd been so focused on what the compound synergy *felt* like that he hadn't checked what it had actually given him.

He opened the System panel.

**[Voidwalker's Constitution — Active]**

**[Physique Grade: Ancient]**

**Innate Abilities:**

**[Phase Existence]**

*The body exists in a state between physical and spatial. Incoming physical attacks have a 35% chance of passing through the body entirely as though it were not present. This percentage increases as cultivation realm advances. Cannot be activated or deactivated — permanently passive.*

**[Spatial Membrane]**

*A natural barrier exists at the boundary of the body. Mana-based attacks that make contact are partially absorbed and converted into the user's own Mana reserves. Conversion rate: 20% at current realm. Increases with cultivation.*

**[Void Adaptation]**

*The body acclimates naturally to spatial distortion, vacuum, and environments that would be lethal to standard physiques. Movement through spatial techniques costs 40% less Mana. Spatial techniques used by the host carry increased penetrative force — defensive barriers and spatial locks are 50% less effective against them.*

---

He read Phase Existence twice.

*Thirty-five percent chance of attacks passing through entirely.*

Not a dodge. Not a block. Not endurance absorbing the hit. The attack arriving and finding nothing where his body should have been — not because he'd moved, but because his body had briefly declined to be physical at the point of impact.

He thought about the Ashwarden. The throw that had caught him in the ribs three days ago because he'd stepped wrong and couldn't dodge in time.

With Phase Existence active — passively, always, without costing him anything — that same throw had a more than one in three chance of hitting nothing at all.

And at higher cultivation realms the percentage climbed.

He kept reading.

---

**[Sovereign Shadow Bloodline — Active]**

**[Bloodline Grade: Primordial]**

**Innate Abilities:**

**[Shadow Consumption]**

*The host may absorb ambient shadow and darkness as a secondary Mana source. In environments with sufficient shadow density, Mana regeneration increases by up to 300%. In complete darkness, the host's Mana regeneration becomes effectively continuous.*

**[Void Blood]**

*The host's blood carries spatial properties. Wounds inflicted by the host's attacks carry a spatial tearing quality — damage does not register as standard physical trauma but as localized spatial disruption. This bypasses conventional physical defenses, hardening techniques, and defensive Talents that operate on standard physical law.*

**[Primordial Shadow Domain]**

*Distinct from Talent-based Domain abilities. An innate domain that exists as a permanent low-level field around the host. Enemies within 15 meters experience mild spatial disorientation — distance perception distorts slightly, making precise targeting of the host marginally harder. At higher bloodline awakening stages this range and intensity increase significantly.*

**[Shadow Sovereign's Inheritance — LOCKED]**

*This ability awakens at Spirit Realm. Details unavailable until unlocked.*

---

He stopped at Void Blood and read it again.

*Spatial tearing. Bypasses physical defenses and hardening Talents.*

Stone Hide. The D-rank Talent that hardened skin and muscle against impact. The defensive ability that had made those three thugs in the alley feel untouchable to an F-rank kid who couldn't create a stick properly.

Every strike Kai landed now carried Void Blood's spatial tearing quality.

Stone Hide's Talent operated on standard physical law.

*It doesn't apply,* he thought simply. *The defense doesn't apply to what I hit with.*

He moved on.

Shadow Consumption hit him differently than the combat abilities had.

*In complete darkness Mana regeneration becomes effectively continuous.*

He looked at his Domain of Endless Night. The Talent ability that let him plunge a thirty-meter radius into genuine darkness — not dimness, genuine lightlessness — at will.

His own Domain created the condition Shadow Consumption fed on.

He could activate Domain of Endless Night and his Mana regeneration became continuous.

During a fight.

While his Domain simultaneously made every enemy inside it visible through the Decree and disoriented by the Primordial Shadow Domain's spatial distortion effect and unable to target him accurately.

He sat with the full picture for a moment.

Domain of Endless Night active — enemies blind, he sees everything.

Shadow Sovereign's Decree — their every intention readable before they act on it.

Primordial Shadow Domain — their spatial perception of him distorted.

Shadow Consumption — his Mana regenerating continuously in the darkness he's created.

Void Blood on every strike — bypassing whatever defense they're relying on.

Phase Existence — a third of their hits finding nothing.

Spatial Membrane — their Mana attacks partially refueling him.

Voidwalker's Constitution making Void Step cost forty percent less in the environment he's created.

He thought about a C-rank opponent. Someone three full ranks above his official classification.

He thought about what that fight looked like from the C-rank's perspective — walking into a Domain where they couldn't see, couldn't accurately locate their target, couldn't trust their physical senses, couldn't rely on their defensive abilities, watching their Mana attacks feed the thing they were trying to hit.

Then he thought about what it looked like from his perspective — reading every intention before it became action, moving at forty percent reduced cost through a shadow network that was his native environment, hitting with strikes that ignored whatever defense the opponent had built their survival strategy around, regenerating Mana continuously while they burned through theirs.

He closed the System panel.

Stood up.

Walked to the window and looked out at the city.

Tier-5. Mid-afternoon. The platform humming its constant engineered hum below, the artificial sky cycling toward evening above.

Four weeks ago he'd been lying on an alley floor tasting blood and wondering if he could create a stick.

He looked at his hand.

The hand that carried Void Blood. That existed in Phase Existence's permanent partial absence. That was made of the same thing as the shadows pooling in every corner of every building he could see from this window.

* I'm growing to be one of those monstrous genius aren't i?* he thought.

His narcissism hitting it peak for a while before he shook his head and He turned away from the window.

The Shadow Sovereign's Inheritance was locked until Spirit Realm.

He added *Spirit Realm* to the list.

Then went back to work.
