Coulson and Natasha looked at the vast library as Wong walked over to the librarian.

"This is Master Kaecilius," Wong said. "He is the current librarian. If you need anything, just ask him."

Kaecilius looked at them carefully, then turned to Wong. "Who are they?"

"They are guests of the Ancient One," Wong replied. "For now, she has instructed me to guide them. Since they are new and behind the other students, they are allowed to study in the library when they are not training."

Kaecilius studied them for a moment longer.

"They do not look like monks," he said plainly.

"They are not," Wong answered.

Kaecilius nodded once. "Very well. The lower shelves contain introductory texts. Basic theory. Energy control. Do not attempt advanced rituals."

Coulson gave a polite nod. "We won't."

Natasha stepped closer to one of the shelves and picked up a book carefully. The pages were filled with diagrams of the human body, but not like medical charts. Lines of light ran through the figure.

"What is this?" she asked.

"Energy pathways," Kaecilius replied. "Before you can draw power from outside, you must understand the flow inside."

Coulson picked up a thinner book titled Foundations of Eldritch Formulae.

"This looks more my speed," he said quietly.

Kaecilius looked at him. "Magic requires focus. If your mind wanders, the spell fails."

"I've filled out enough reports to have strong focus," Coulson replied smiling.

Wong turned to leave. "For now read and get introduced to it, Training begins at dawn."

With that, he walked away.

Coulson sat at a wooden table and opened his book.

Natasha remained standing for a moment, scanning the room. Students moved quietly between shelves. No one paid them much attention.

"Most wander here by fate," Kaecilius said as he stepped closer to her.

"Is that the same for you?" she asked.

He nodded once. "I lost my family and stumbled here by chance. Since then, I have lived here."

"Most people here are like me," he added. "Now stop observing others and go study."

Natasha gave a small nod and picked up a book from the lower shelf.

Coulson glanced up at her. "Making friends already?"

"He's not the friendly type," she replied calmly as she sat down.

Kaecilius returned to his desk but kept a watchful eye on the room.

Natasha opened the book. It explained how to focus the mind and sense internal energy.

"Close your eyes," she read quietly. "Slow your breathing. Feel the flow within."

She looked at Coulson. "You trying that?"

Coulson adjusted his glasses slightly. "I'm still on definitions."

Natasha closed her eyes anyway.

Meanwhile, a private jet landed in Nepal.

"Finally here," Ethan muttered as he looked out the window.

"Are we really going to learn magic here?" Sharon asked. Frank and Clint, who were seated nearby, also looked interested.

Storm was there as well, but because of his background, he already knew about magic. He was not as excited as the others.

"That's why I'm here," Ethan said with a nod.

The jet came to a stop.

A few minutes later, they stepped out onto the runway.

Clint looked around. "Doesn't look very magical."

"It won't," Ethan replied. "Not at first."

Frank adjusted his jacket. "So what's the plan? We just walk in?"

"Yes," Ethan said calmly.

They got into the car and soon drove toward Kamar-Taj.

The streets were crowded. Vendors shouted. Tourists moved around without noticing anything unusual.

The car stopped near the market.

Clint looked around. "This is it?"

"Yes," Ethan replied.

They stepped out and walked toward the wooden door.

Before Ethan could knock, the door opened.

Wong stood there, calm as always.

"The Ancient One was expecting you," Wong said.

Ethan nodded. "I assumed she would."

Clint looked between them. "Am I the only one who finds this weird?"

Frank crossed his arms. "I'm also wondering how they knew we were coming."

"She can see the future," Ethan said simply.

Clint blinked. "That's not very reassuring."

Wong stepped aside. "Please come in."

They entered, and the noise of the market disappeared instantly.

Sharon looked back at the closed door. "Okay. That's definitely not normal."

Storm remained quiet. He had felt the shift in energy the moment they stepped inside.

Wong began leading them down the corridor.

"Some of you seek knowledge," Wong said without turning around. "Some seek power. The Ancient One will know which."

Frank glanced at Ethan. "And what are we here for?"

Ethan gave a small shrug. "I want to measure my level against theirs."

Wong looked at him but did not say anything.

"You already know magic?" Clint asked.

Ethan nodded.

He snapped his fingers.

A few skeletal figures rose from the ground and began floating around them. Dark energy flickered in their hollow eyes.

Clint stepped back immediately. "Okay—nope. I don't like that."

Sharon stiffened. Even Wong's calm expression shifted slightly before Ethan raised his hand.

The skeletal figures vanished instantly.

"No summoning inside the halls," Wong said firmly.

Ethan lowered his hand. "Understood."

"You practice necromancy," Wong observed.

"Yes," Ethan replied calmly. "Mostly necromancy and dark magic. That's where my specialty lies."

Wong studied him carefully. "That path carries heavy consequences."

"I'm aware," Ethan answered.

Frank looked at Ethan. "You didn't mention skeletons."

"You didn't ask," Ethan replied.

Clint shook his head. "I thought we were coming to learn tricks with glowing circles. Not horror movie stuff."

Storm finally spoke. "Magic has many branches. Some are light. Some are dark. It depends on the user."

Wong resumed walking. "The Ancient One will decide how much you are allowed to practice here."

They continued down the corridor until they reached a large door.

Wong stopped.

"You might be eager to fight her," he said to Ethan. "But she is an powerful one existing for many centuries so do your best"

Ethan gave a short nod.

Wong pushed the door open.

Inside, the Ancient One stood near the window.

She turned slowly, her calm eyes resting on Ethan first.

"You have finally come" she said.

Ethan inclined his head slightly. "I've been busy."

Her gaze shifted briefly to the others, then back to him.
