Chapter 128: We must rescue the Ian family
And in a completely different place...
At that exact same moment, while Nathan was suffering in the depths of the palace from the bitterness of his choices and his misjudgment of reality... Cain had just arrived through the dimensional portal, tearing through the fabric of space to return once more to Planet Earth—specifically inside the room where Lucy was still sleeping peacefully.
Cain stood in the middle of the room, looking toward the bed and at Lucy, who was fast asleep. He took a slow breath, feeling a sense of temporary relief that this "mighty monster" named Lucy had not woken up yet; otherwise, their problems would have multiplied and become far more complex than they already were!
Cain reached a firm decision within his heart: he had to inform Lucy immediately that they needed to stop this absurd game and withdraw completely. Earth was not a world where they could adapt to being in with absolute freedom; they had already caused unnecessary chaos and trouble through simple mistakes and reckless actions. Any further wrong decision from them could lead to dire, catastrophic consequences that would harm innocent civilians here and alter the course of their lives.
And that was by no means part of their primary goals or plans for this visit!
Furthermore, matters outside were growing increasingly complicated at this very moment. The police forces and special security units would undoubtedly begin surrounding the main palace of the Ian family along with all their commercial properties, and they would likely arrive at the palace much faster than anyone could imagine.
From the start, everything Cain had done was merely a light adventure and a game for amusement, but now... after the Ian family had fallen under criminal suspicion and direct accusation because of him and Lucy without having committed any crime, he had to move with lightning speed and absolute decisiveness to resolve this dilemma himself. After that, he would return to resume his journey and settle matters with his daughter Amelia, who had grown extremely upset with him due to his absence.
While Cain was immersed in these thoughts, observing Lucy sleeping with her gentle, sweet expression... Lucy felt his presence in the room.
She stirred under the warm blanket and turned her entire body to face him, then opened her eyes with a soft laziness and cast a quiet, questioning look at him:
"What is it, Cain? Are you ready to continue what we were doing before you stepped out?"
When Lucy uttered those words, Cain shook his head in refusal immediately without hesitation, speaking in a firm tone overflowing with seriousness:
"I believe we must put an end to what we are doing right now, Lucy... We have only spent two full days here, and during them, we have done nothing but cause troubles and crises in a clumsy manner!"
In a fraction of a second—and in a lightning-fast, magical manner—Lucy regained her full attire and returned to her usual complete elegance without even making any visible movement. She got off the bed and stood firmly before him, her eyes narrowing suspiciously:
"Has the Cain I know... the one who can resolve all complex problems and crises in the blink of an eye, suddenly disappeared? Don’t you want our marriage to be unique and special compared to any other marriage? What difference does it make if we hold a massive, legendary wedding ceremony? Even an ordinary count in our world can easily do that! I only wanted our marriage contract to be extremely special—a rare moment whose every detail we would remember forever..."
Lucy took a few steps closer to him, resting her head and delicate palms against his solid chest. She spoke in that gentle, enchanting tone that she knew all too well was his sole weakness, trying to dissuade him from his decisive choice.
However, Cain kept his gaze fixed upon her and said in a serious voice:
"This is childish behavior, Lucy... You don’t know the scale of the disaster that occurred in the street while you were sleeping here! We must go immediately to the main palace of the Ian family to transport the rest of their family members to our world and palace, after the dangerous consequences we have caused."
Lucy’s eyes widened in surprise and wonder, and she stepped back slightly, asking, "What do you mean? What exactly happened?"
Cain clarified the situation for her, attempting to simplify the picture:
"Because of the relics truck you destroyed after we left the jewelry store... it so happened that the jewelry store was also owned by the Ian family! And because of the camera recordings we destroyed with our own hands, along with the memories you erased from the workers’ minds there... the police and security authorities assumed the family is in direct collusion with that catastrophic ’Smile’ organization!"
As Lucy analyzed Cain’s words, she came to realize the gravity and reality of the situation. At the end of the day, this marriage document was merely a formal procedure that changed nothing about the reality of their love, offering nothing more than passing memories... but for ordinary human beings to be harmed and thrown into the depths of prison because of the two of them was something that could never be accepted!
In the end... she was the one who had carved the emblem of the "Smile" organization onto the road with her own hand to shift suspicion away from them and mislead the investigation! If those innocent people were thrown into prison or suffered harm due to framed suspicions, it would be her direct fault and responsibility.
Lucy looked at Cain and spoke in a tone devoid of playful affection: "So... what do we do now?"
Cain sighed heavily as he reviewed the steps of his emergency plan:
"I still don’t know the exact location of the Ian family’s main palace... We were surrounded and blockaded by the police while I was with old man Vincent and Nathan in the limousine in the middle of the street. I eliminated the leader of the blockade and transported everyone who was with me in the vehicle to our palace under Zardar’s care."
Lucy’s brows furrowed as she looked sharply at Cain:
"If the police surrounded you in the limousine that quickly... that means their security teams must have surrounded the Ian family’s main palace at the exact same time! We need to rescue them and transport the rest of the family members immediately before it is too late."
Cain nodded in confirmation, turning toward the window overlooking the street:
"I truly don’t know what I will do with them after transporting them to our world... Transporting them will be seen in the eyes of this world’s authorities as conclusive proof of the charges against them, and there will be no turning back whatsoever after that! But events have already transpired, and I am the one who made the decisions... so I must fix the situation with my own hands."
