Chapter 83: The Supreme Lord Is Certainly Busy with the Organization’s Affairs
Cain’s limbs froze, and his body grew as stiff as an ice statue as he watched Lucy advance toward him with elegant, confident strides, wearing that faint, subtle smile that never portended anything good.
Within him raged a tempest of clashing questions: What had brought her here? He had left her at the castle only a few hours ago to rest, yet here she was, standing before him amidst this wreckage.
The truth that Cain refused to admit aloud was that the thing he feared most in this entire existence was Lucy. He feared her because, in all seriousness, he could never read her thoughts, and he worried that her polite, gentle smile was merely a mask concealing a diabolical plot to kill or torture him in revenge for that night when he had made her pregnant against her will.
Yet, in a cruel and ironic paradox, she was also the only woman his cold heart had ever deeply loved.
Consequently, he felt a suffocating cocktail of emotions as he watched her now: one side of him screamed to remain cautious and suspect her reasons for following him, while another side danced with joy at the sight of her, asking with internal eagerness: ’Will I receive my psychological "treatment" today? Or will the dose be doubled tonight?’
Cain clenched his fist, commanding himself not to lower his guard.
Forcing a fake smile, he spoke in a tone he tried to keep calm: "Lady Lucy... what a wonderful coincidence to run into each other here! But what urgent mission was so pressing that it required Lady Lucy to personally venture out of the castle?"
In response to his question, Lucy’s smile widened slightly, appearing utterly sweet and innocent. However, if Cain could have breached her mind at that exact moment, he would have fled without looking back. Her mind was buzzing with a thousand and one ideas, positions, and experiments she intended to practice on him tonight... and perhaps for the next ten days.
The reason? In simple, deadly terms... Lucy had struck the bargain of a lifetime!
Just two hours earlier, she had met that strange, terrifying man in the black suit. In exchange for their deal, he had not only given her a complete and detailed copy of the legendary [Soul Touch] technique she had long dreamed of... but he had also revealed truths that shocked her to her very core.
He had told her the absolute truth: "Cain loves you too, Lucy."
At first, she had not believed a single word, thinking he was joking or trying to deceive her. But the man had astonished her when he began detailing precise situations and interactions that had occurred between her and Cain in the past, showing her how she had completely misunderstood everything. Cain loved her, but he was terrified to admit it because he believed with absolute certainty that she was plotting to murder him in revenge for the night he got her pregnant.
Lucy had nearly clutched her head in sheer shock and bewilderment when she realized the colossal scale of their stupidity and misunderstanding.
So, all this time, both of them had been lying to themselves and fighting windmills, when a simple confession from either would have allowed them to be happy together?
This was, without a doubt, the most ridiculous yet happiest piece of information Lucy had ever heard in her life.
Lucy recalled how she had asked the mysterious man, after feeling a sweeping wave of gratitude for learning the truth: "Why are you telling me all this? When you, in return, have taken nothing from me yet?"
The mysterious man had smiled a calm smile and said in a deep tone: "As long as she is happy... I too shall always be happy. What I want from you is only one thing, Lady Lucy... and I do not want you to be lenient about it at all."
Although Lucy did not understand who "she" was—whose happiness brought him such joy—she had nodded her agreement without hesitation; the news he brought her was worth any price.
The man spoke, the smile never leaving his lips: "Do not worry... All I want you to do is ensure that Cain does not leave his bed for ten consecutive days... and if he tries to escape the room... well, you surely know what to do with him."
At that moment, Lucy’s eyes had flashed with a devilish gleam, and she had let out a wicked, promising smile.
She did not understand this powerful individual, nor could she read his deep intentions, but one thing was certain to her: he was an "extremely virtuous and benevolent" person!
In any case, and after learning the truth of Cain’s feelings, Lucy was never going to let him leave. Not before that aching, overwhelming longing between her thighs was put to rest before she lost her mind entirely.
She had said to the man with gratitude: "I do not know who you truly are, but you can certainly ask for anything else at any time, and as long as I can do it... I will agree without hesitation."
The smile remained painted on the mysterious man’s face as he delivered his final words before vanishing like a specter into nothingness: "Take good care of her..."
And the man vanished from before Lucy’s eyes, leaving her frozen for a moment, unable to believe what had transpired. She wondered to herself: ’Who does he mean by "her"?’
She was truly mystified by this powerful man, but she was definitely... definitely deeply grateful to him.
And in the present... Lucy looked at Cain, who was visibly trembling as he stared at her with suppressed anxiety and dread.
Her internal smile widened further and further upon seeing his fear, and she murmured to herself mischievously: ’It is time for some "intensive treatment," Mr. Cain... and you won’t escape me this time.’
She looked at the rubble, then directed a feigned look of inquiry at Cain: "Mr. Cain... is this destroyed building not, according to my precise intelligence, a branch of the Transmigrators Organization? What are you doing here amidst this destruction? Do you have some hidden connection to this organization?"
Cain shook his head rapidly, denying the accusation instantly in an attempt to slip away cleverly: "Me?.. No, of course not! I was just... I was just taking a stroll... isn’t that right, Marcus?"
Cain turned eagerly toward his subordinate, only to find Marcus staring at him with a anxious, terrified expression.
With absolute, utter stupidity, Marcus wanted to confirm his loyalty, so he blurted out: "Indeed, Supreme Lord!.. For Supreme Lord Cain is always busy with the high affairs of the Organization, and would never waste his time here!"
In a fraction of a second, Cain snapped his head toward Marcus and directed a deathly, thunderous glare at him—a look carrying within it all the fires of hell and the promise of eternal damnation for making such a catastrophic declaration right in front of Lucy!
