Chapter 272: 272 | Void Star Saber! Type 5!

The man’s expression changed. Dexter immediately grabbed the chain tighter, then pulled.

“What—”

The Ultra expert was yanked forward, his eyes widening. Dexter raised his knee.

‘BANG!’

The man twisted at the last instant, and Dexter’s knee crashed into his side instead of his abdomen.

‘CRACK!’

At least one rib broke. But the man was experienced. His elbow came down simultaneously.

‘BANG!’

It struck Dexter’s shoulder. Pain exploded down his arm, and Dexter staggered. A presence appeared on his right. The second man had returned. Fast. A palm slammed into Dexter’s ribs.

‘BOOM!’

Dexter flew sideways and twisted in midair and landed, his boots scratching across the ground.

The two Peak Ultra experts moved together with perfect coordination. One high. One low.

Dexter blocked a fist aimed at his head. The second man’s leg swept toward his knee. Dexter jumped. A palm followed and he twisted but another fist brushed across his jaw.

‘BANG!’

His head snapped sideways, and blood filled his mouth. Dexter staggered backward as the first man appeared behind him.

A thorn chain wrapped toward his throat. Dexter ducked, and the second attacked immediately. A kick slammed into Dexter’s stomach.

‘BOOM!’

He flew backward, and a tree exploded behind him. Dexter crashed through it, wood splintering everywhere, and landed hard.

The two men advanced. One smiled coldly. “You should have stayed at your picnic.”

Dexter slowly stood up as blood ran from the corner of his mouth. His damaged forearm was already beginning to heal, and the men noticed. Their expressions changed slightly.

The second frowned. “Regeneration?”

Dexter spat blood onto the ground, then opened his right hand. Space rippled, and a weapon appeared in his hand. It was a saber. The instant it materialized, the atmosphere changed. The blade was dark, with a faint star-like patterns shimmered along its surface as though pieces of the night sky had been trapped within the metal.

‘Type-5 Void Star Saber.’

The first man’s eyes narrowed. Dexter wrapped his fingers around the hilt, and a low hum rolled from the blade as the earth beneath him vibrated.

“Move.”

The first man stepped backward instinctively, and his expression changed when he realized he’d done it.

Dexter vanished as thunder exploded.

‘Crackle!’

The Ultra expert raised both palms as a mountainous barrier formed. “Mountain Fortress Barrier!”

A translucent wall appeared, and Dexter’s saber descended.

“Thunder GodKill Saber Art.”

Lightning crawled over the blade, and the Void Star Saber’s spatial patterns illuminated.

“Void Godslayer Slash!”

He cut. For one instant, nothing happened. Then the barrier split. The man’s pupils contracted. “What?”

The saber continued through.

‘SLASH!’

Blood erupted from his chest as he flew backward like a missle!

‘BANG!’

He smashed through a stone wall hidden among the forest ruins.

The second man’s face changed. “A Type-5 weapon!”

Dexter was already turning as blue lightning climbed the saber and flames followed like thunder.

Lighting and fire twisted together. The veins in Dexter’s arm bulged and his muscles screamed. He poured mana into the weapon.

“Thunder GodKill Saber Art, third Form.”

Dexter raised the saber and slashed. “Eightfold Lightning Severance!”

‘CRAKLE!!!’

One slash. No, eight.

The first thunderclap shook the forest. The man’s face hardened, and his palms rose toward the sky. Dark mana erupted. Clouds gathered unnaturally overhead.

“Shadow Bone Demon Finger!”

The sky darkened and a gigantic finger emerged from the swirling shadow clouds. It looked skeletal, ancient and demonic.

Black runes covered every joint as the enormous finger descended toward Dexter. Trees beneath it bent and the ground cracked.

Dexter’s first lightning blade rose.

‘BOOM!’

It struck the finger. Nothing.

The second followed.

‘BOOM!’

The finger slowed.

The third thunder blade crashed upward.

‘CRACK!’

The descending finger stopped. The man’s expression changed. “Impossible.”

Fourth.

‘BOOM!’

A crack appeared across the finger.

Fifth.

‘CRACK!’

More fractures spread.

Sixth.

‘BOOOOOOM!’

The demonic finger shattered as dark energy exploded through the sky.

The seventh lightning blade tore through the collapsing technique. It continued downward. The man roared. “Barrier!”

A thick Ultra Realm shield appeared.

‘CRACK!’

The seventh strike shattered it. His eyes widened. Then he saw the eighth.

“No…”

‘BOOM!’

The final blade struck. The man disappeared. Trees exploded one after another. One. Two. Three. Four. He slammed through them before crashing into a massive boulder. The boulder detonated as dust erupted.

Silence descended through the entire forest.

Dexter stood in the center of the destruction as lightning crawled over his saber.

Flames burned around his shoulders as blood dripped from his knuckles. His chest rose and fell heavily and every breath stabbed his ribs.

One Peak Ultra expert lay buried beneath a ruined wall. The other was somewhere inside the cloud of shattered stone.

Dexter turned and Aurelyx stood farther ahead. She had stopped walking as her violet eyes rested on him.

Dexter lowered the saber. “Come here.”

Aurelyx’s brow furrowed. ”Annoying.’

She turned away, and something snapped inside Dexter.

“Lyra!”

He moved and he had only moved two steps when his pupils contracted.

The air beside Aurelyx distorted as space itself seem to have ffolded. Dexter stopped.

Someone stepped out: an older man in plain dark robes. His white hair was tied neatly behind his head. He carried no armour, no visible weapon, and no aura.

Dexter detected no footsteps or breathing. Most unsettling, he heard no heartbeat—even now. The silence remained absolute. The old man might as well have been a corpse.

He calmly placed one hand on Aurelyx’s shoulder, and she stopped. Her expression changed.

Dexter’s grip tightened around his saber. “Take your hand off her.”

The elderly man surveyed the wreckage: broken trees, shattered stone, cracked earth. Two injured Peak Ultra experts lay nearby. At last, his attention turned to Dexter.

“You have made quite a mess.”

Dexter raised the blade, and flames climbed it. “I said… let her go.”

The old man’s eyes briefly moved toward the saber. “A good blade.”

Then toward Dexter’s flames. “And a troublesome bloodline.” His expression remained completely indifferent. “But you should learn when to lower your head.”

The old man lifted one hand as his index finger extended towards Dexter.
