Chapter 225: I Don't Care
Half an hour later, Orochimaru entered the Hokage Building.
The ninja inside the building actively avoided him, pressing themselves flat against the corridor walls as he passed.
The aura surrounding Orochimaru had grown even colder and more sinister.
One of the medical ninja caught a whiff of the scent clinging to him, recognizing the distinct smell of chemical preservatives.
Orochimaru stepped into the Hokage's Office. Seeing that Danzo was also present, he simply ignored him and took a seat on one of the sofas without being asked.
"Did you need me for something? I'm very busy."
Danzo felt a wave of relief. So Orochimaru treated Hiruzen Sarutobi with the exact same disrespect; he wasn't just targeting him.
Hiruzen spoke up. "Lately, certain elements within the village have been restless. They have grown frantic, reaching a state of absolute lawlessness.
"Sumi Shimura and Yu Sarutobi were both slated for promotion to Jonin. They were killed on the very eve of their promotions."
