Chapter 214: Division of Power in the Jonin Council
Early in the morning, right before the Jonin Council meeting.
Yako mobilized all four squads in his division, deploying them around the Hokage Building.
"Today!" Yako instructed. "Within two hundred meters of the Jonin Council meeting room, if a dog walks by, break its legs! If a bird flies in, bind its beak!
We absolutely cannot allow even the slightest accident to disrupt this meeting!
If a bird chirps while the Third Hokage is speaking, it will be a failure on the part of the Fox Squad!"
This was the first full Jonin Council meeting since the end of the Second Great Ninja War.
Every Jonin in Konoha who could attend was present.
The meeting should have been held at the end of last year, the thirty-ninth year of Konoha. At the time, the Hokage Building's excuse for the delay had been to let everyone enjoy a peaceful New Year.
Now that the holidays had passed and February had arrived, the Jonin Council meeting could be put off no longer.
