Chapter 160: Victory
Nara Shikaku enjoyed a good show.
The Daimyo of the Land of Wind seemed extremely dissatisfied with the Hidden Sand Village—so dissatisfied that he refused to discuss matters in private, choosing instead to unleash his fury right in front of outsiders.
The Land of Wind was already barren. With over twenty ships sunk at Shabo Harbor and their unconditional support for the war yielding absolutely nothing, the Daimyo was left thoroughly disappointed.
Nara Shikaku continued laying out the armistice terms:
"Third, the Hidden Sand Village will pay Konoha a reparation of 200 million ryo, and the Land of Wind will compensate the Land of Rivers with 180 million ryo.
"Konoha has suffered heavy casualties in this war. As the defeated party, the Hidden Sand Village must provide war reparations to fund the death pensions for our fallen ninja.
"The western region of the Land of Rivers has been left nearly desolate by the conflict, and compensation must be made for that as well."
Naturally, Ebizo refused to accept this astronomical figure, and the two sides engaged in a fierce argument over the compensation.
Nara Shikaku remained completely calm, refusing to yield a single inch.
