Chapter 86: Split Dog
Entering the morgue tent, Purple Cat and White Sheep began to gather intel from the corpses.
Purple Cat was about to speak, but Yako addressed White Sheep first. "Use your Byakugan to check the area around the tent. Walls have ears."
Beneath his mask, White Sheep activated his Byakugan.
He scanned in every direction but found nothing unusual.
Only then did Purple Cat speak.
"Captain, the wounds on the first three corpses were all caused by the same ninja sword. However, the wounds on the final corpse vary in shape—caused by a ninja sword, wire strings, and kunai.
"In other words, one Anbu operative launched a sneak attack and was then besieged by the remaining three.
"The ambushing Anbu was incredibly strong. He held his own in a one-on-three fight, killed two of them in succession, and ultimately ended in mutual destruction with the squad captain."
After a moment of thought, Yako concluded, "Whether it's a two-man Anbu cell or a four-man Anbu squad, the enemy can only control one person. What was their time of death?"
