Something major must have happened somewhere out of Kitsuchi's sight; otherwise, the Hidden Leaf would never launch a counterattack.
He could not tell if the Hidden Leaf was bluffing, using an offensive to create an opportunity to retreat, or if their forces had received reinforcements.
The Sannin were notoriously difficult to deal with. If the three of them joined hands, even a Tailed Beast would not be able to gain the upper hand.
However, Kitsuchi was not afraid of the Hidden Leaf. Not only did his Iwa Ninja have superior numbers, but the combined strength of their four Kage Level ninjas was formidable.
The position of the Iwa Ninja forces had already been exposed. Bakura said he had spotted a Spear Egret Summoned Beast.
It was a very rare flying Summoned Beast; it had to belong to the Hidden Leaf.
Since their position was exposed, they would simply fight.
