Chapter 479: The Death of Luo Sha
Kakashi hadn't expected Minister Fox to test him.
Why not continue the assault on the Kazekage?
Kakashi immediately answered, "Lord Fox, Minato-sensei said the village isn't planning to send ninja forces into the Land of Rivers. Our goal is to stop the Hidden Sand Village from joining the war. The ideal outcome would be to assassinate the Kazekage and leave entirely undetected by gods or ghosts. Minato-sensei was delayed by a mysterious enemy, though, so the assassination failed. If we press the attack and force a kill on the Kazekage now, it will only provoke the militant faction of the Hidden Sand Village. They'd use avenging him as an excuse to accelerate their push for war. Ninja never abandon a mission just because the enemy is too strong; they'll often throw themselves at powerful foes regardless of the cost. Forcing the death of Kazekage Luo Sha in front of everyone right now wouldn't stop the war—it would accelerate it."
Yako nodded. "Kakashi, your way of thinking is excellent. You can look at the big picture and consider problems with the mindset of a Hokage."
Uchiha Hato's eyes widened in shock.
For Minister Fox to praise Kakashi so highly... had Kakashi already entered the sights of the village's upper echelons? Had he been marked as a rookie for focused cultivation?
No wonder Kakashi had become a Jonin at twelve years old.
"Kakashi, take Uchiha Hato and Nohara Rin and hide," Yako said. "An unexpected variable has appeared in the mission, pushing it beyond your squad's capabilities. I will take over from here."
Kakashi wanted to ask about their squad's mission, but he realized Minister Fox had already vanished.
