My Martial Dao Has No Bottlenecks

Chapter 164 - 104: Fighting True Essence

The main gates of the Qiao Mansion were shut tight.

Liang Cheng stood at the bottom of the stone steps and walked up to use the door knocker.

After three knocks, footsteps sounded from within. The door opened a crack, and Uncle Wang’s face peeked out.

"Liang Zhenchuan."

Uncle Wang bowed, opened the door wider, and stepped aside.

Liang Cheng strode inside, and the heavy gates closed behind him.

The front courtyard was empty. Only the stooped figure of Uncle Wang was there to lead the way.

They passed through the front hall and arrived at the Main Hall of the central courtyard. Lamps were lit inside, but it was empty.

"Liang Zhenchuan, please wait a moment."

After speaking, Uncle Wang retreated outside the door.

Liang Cheng walked to the center of the hall and stood there, calm and composed.

A moment later, the curtain of a side door was lifted, and a middle-aged man walked in. He had an ordinary face, but his eyes were sharp and shrewd. He clasped his fist in greeting as soon as he entered.

"Liang Zhenchuan, I’ve heard much about you. You can just call me Old Jin."

"Old Jin?"

Liang Cheng didn’t return the gesture. He had expected Qian Wanjing to appear, not a scene like this. He quickly composed himself.

"Where are my master and Senior Brother Zhou?"

Old Jin’s smile didn’t waver. "Martial Arts Hall Master Yang and Master Zhou are resting in a wing in the rear courtyard. Their lives are in no danger. As long as Liang Zhenchuan agrees to one thing, I will immediately see them off."

"Speak."

"Didn’t Madam Qiao give you something before she died? Just hand it over."

Liang Cheng shook his head.

"I never took anything from Madam Qiao."

Old Jin’s smile faded. "Then I’m afraid I’ll have to ask Martial Arts Hall Master Yang and Master Zhou to stay a few more days. As for Miss Qiao’s childbirth... it is a perilous affair to begin with."

Liang Cheng was silent for a moment. "I need to see them first."

"You may."

Old Jin turned to the side without any attempt to bargain. "Please, follow me."

The two of them passed through the rear hall and into the back courtyard.

The West Wing was brightly lit, and the faint, suppressed moans of a woman could be heard. The doors and windows of the East Wing, however, were shut tight. Four men in black stood guard outside, their auras steady—all of them at Transformation Force or above.

At Old Jin’s signal, one of the men unlocked the door.

Inside, Yang Wei and Zhou Hu were shackled hand and foot with special iron chains, seated in chairs. Their clothes were torn and their faces bruised, but their breathing was stable. It was clear they hadn’t been severely tortured.

"Master! Senior Brother!"

Yang Wei looked up, and upon seeing Liang Cheng, he cried out anxiously, "Liang Cheng, get out of here!"

Zhou Hu struggled, the chains rattling. "Junior Brother, run! It’s an ambush..."

Liang Cheng confirmed that their lives weren’t in danger and felt a little more at ease.

He turned back to Old Jin. "I don’t have what you want on me, but I’m taking them with me."

"Then that will depend on your abilities, Liang Zhenchuan."

Just then, a blood-curdling scream erupted from the West Wing!

It was immediately followed by the midwife’s panicked shout, "This is bad! She’s hemorrhaging!"

Yang Wei’s expression changed. Liang Cheng was about to move when Old Jin raised a hand to stop him. "Stay your hand, Liang Zhenchuan. Give us the item. We have the best doctor on standby."

Sure enough, an old man carrying a medicine box appeared.

Liang Cheng stared at Old Jin. "If anything happens to Qiao Zhi, you’ll all die with her."

Old Jin shook his head. "Miss Qiao’s life is in your hands, Liang Zhenchuan."

Yang Wei looked worried as agonizing screams came from the delivery room. At that moment, seizing the opportunity while everyone was distracted by Qiao Zhi’s cries, Liang Cheng suddenly struck.

Old Jin reacted instantly, his Protective True Qi flaring to life. He, too, was a True Qi Realm expert.

But this time, Liang Cheng pushed his Wandering Dragon Step to its absolute limit. His Golden Armor Realm power erupted completely, and the True Qi from his Broken Wave Technique surged within him, wave after powerful wave.

Old Jin’s Protective True Qi was shattered in an instant. Before anyone present could react, Liang Cheng had him by the throat.

"Quick, let him go save her."

Liang Cheng gestured toward the doctor. Old Jin’s expression was grim. Liang Cheng sent a jolt of Power through his hand, and the pain forced Old Jin to speak.

"Fine. Save her."

The doctor acknowledged the order and, clutching his medicine box, hurried toward the delivery room.

But just then, a cold sneer came from the roof of the East Wing. "Treasure Pavilion, you certainly know how to pick your moments."

Everyone looked up to see a figure that had appeared on the courtyard wall at some unknown time.

"Wu Zhenshan!"

Liang Cheng was surprised. He hadn’t expected Wu Zhenshan, who had been in seclusion, to show up here. Old Jin hadn’t anticipated this either and was momentarily stunned.

But before the doctor could take a single step, Wu Zhenshan struck, grabbing him. "Liang Cheng, since the item is in your hands, hand it over, and I’ll let him go in."

Wu Zhenshan’s voice wasn’t loud. He had one hand clamped on the old doctor’s neck, his five withered fingers slowly tightening. The doctor’s face immediately turned purple, and a gurgling sound, "GHKK-GHKK," came from his throat.

Liang Cheng stood his ground, his right hand still gripping Old Jin’s throat, his left hand hanging by his side as he stared intently at Wu Zhenshan.

’Wu Zhenshan is out of seclusion.’

’And he’s had a breakthrough.’

His aura was as deep and still as a dark pool. The baleful Cold Yin Qi surrounding him was contained almost perfectly. If not for Liang Cheng’s Cultivation of the Profound Yin Sword Technique, which made him highly sensitive to Cold Yin Qi, he would have barely noticed it.

’He broke through silently, without any sign, and no one knew. His appearance here now means all my actions have been under his watch.’

"A fine scheme, Wu the Treasurer."

Liang Cheng spoke slowly, his voice steady. "But now that you’ve shown yourself, aren’t you afraid the Martial Arts Academy will come after you?"

The corner of Wu Zhenshan’s mouth curved into a cold arc. "Bai Hong has gone to the Border Sea. Liang Cheng, no one can save you tonight."

"You were lucky before. I never thought you’d be able to kill that waste of space Xu Jinjiang. I missed my chance, and you were fortunate enough to escape."

Liang Cheng’s expression changed, but then he shook his head. ’The True Essence Realm expert from back then had a much more terrifying aura. It definitely wasn’t Wu Zhenshan.’

Just then, Wu Zhenshan’s five fingers tightened another fraction. The old doctor’s eyes bulged, his face turned a deathly blue-purple, and his legs began to twitch.
