I have a Multiversal Chat Room, so what?

Chapter 125: Magic, What is it Good For? (Part 4)

I took a smol break with writing just to get some of my real life stuff done and I am now back with this Chapter.

ALSO, if I could get your feelings on just going crazy mode with the Harry Potter universe, it would be appreciated. I have some twists and turns that I could add that would make it far more interesting and could potentially connect it to the wider multiverse... Also I want to delve into the book of Shadows that Drecarios recieved and some Magic The Gathering lore, potentially, so let me know your thoughts...

ANYWAY, I hope you enjoy this Chapter...!

POTTERS ALIVE? NECROMANCY OR SECRECY!?

-𝑅𝒾𝓉𝒶

Shock and horror has met wizarding Britain this morning as various powerful figures and upstanding members of the Ministry of Magic have confirmed that James Fleamont Potter, otherwise known as the father to The-Boy-Who-Lived; more information on page 11, has been spotted wandering the halls of of the Ministry once again.

This sighting was also followed by several clandestine reports from several upstanding, though anonymous, sources that confirmed the Lady Potter... Otherwise referred to as Lily Potter or the mother of The-Boy-Who-Lived has been seen skulking through Diagon Alley’s Knockturn Alley!

After numerous interviews and various first-hand images and sighting, this reporter must confirm for you all that indeed Harry Potter’s parents are ALIVE!!!

Naturally this brings forth a host of questions that I have striven to find answers for... Did they abandon their son after Voldemort’s attack on their house, too scared for their own safety? Were they somehow locked away by dark magics and have only recently been able to break them? Have they always secretly been looking after our beloved Boy-Who-Lived?

So many questions and unfortunately too few answers... This reporter will continue to strive towards procuring the answers to all of your questions.

Please refer any information about the Potters to the Daily Prophet, Rita Skeeter!

I finished clearing the dust from my face just as the chatroom died for another ten hours. The chatroom itself could work for limited times during time-closed missions, much like some forms of satellite internet. Something about the way that time was forced to flow in relation to our current position inside a foreign time-stream caused blackouts for hours and hours on end.

From what I had tracked, these blackouts depended purely on the distance between universes and the relative position in space-time in relation to the universe of who you are speaking to is in... Unfortunately these separate ’outages’ were forced on members that wouldn’t usually have an issue speaking to us in this universe from their original. I hypothesized that this was for fairness... One member couldn’t benefit in isolation from the rest and therefor none of us could betray one another without the potential target realising.

I slid the book on elemental magics back into the alcove it came from whilst standing, the aged black-wood chair rattling as it was pushed back on the dusty floorboards of the Black library. Pixies and some smaller creatures fluttered in the far side of the massive room as a fresh layer of dust softly exploded from the edges of the bookcase as the book slid back into its crevice.

Smacking my hands together I took a brief look around the library, noting the thousands of books that were neatly ordered from floor to ceiling in onyx shelves of a Victorian style. "Let’s go find Shiroe..." I murmured to myself after all of the dust spilt from my hands onto the floor.

Opening the door to the library I found myself contemplating what Shiroe had been doing for the last few days... After we had returned from Gringotts I had been left to my own devices and had been guided to my ladies’ rooms by Kreatcher; who was far kinder than his movie counterpart. I had fooled around with them for a time, creating soaps and self-charged appliances for their daily hygiene regiments, whatever those were. We had also gotten a little touchy before Anna kicked me out of the room so they could have a ’girls night’. Naturally I hadn’t argued with her over that and stepped out with my shirt slightly askew and some purple lipstick clinging to my right cheek.

That had left me in a rather boring predicament where I was denied sex and had very little to do before the mission started properly. After a few minutes of leaning against the side of the door, hoping to hear some saucy noises or something, I finally decided to go find the wayward member of our chat.

Needless to say I found Shiroe head-to-toe in parchment, his elven ears twitching every now and then as his exhausted visage attempted to peer into the soul of his work. At the time he hadn’t discovered anything other than questions and was frantically scanning through the only book in the Black library that spoke on spatial enchantments and dimensional adjustments for rooms, items and magics.

Looking at the majority of his notes I found several references to the gateways of his own universe and quite a few small tid-bits on the powers that his universe could exhibit from items in dungeons or through enchanting materials. I had tried to draw his attention but he was so absorbed in his work at the time that he merely grunted at me as his glasses dipped lower on his nose, black bags hanging low under his eyes.

Shaking my head I snapped myself from the wayward recollection and smoothly opened the same door that I had a day or two ago, the pungent smell of ink and parchment wafting directly into my face as I released the seal on the room.

"Finally... This will solve so many problems..." Shiroe’s voice dully reverberated from deeper inside the room as I swung the door inwards.

"So you were able to figure out dimensions, yeah?" I questioned with a chuckle as I sidestepped a few stacks of parchment and several randomly placed chairs that seemed to have been placed for the convenience of accessing said stacks of writing.

Shiroe tiredly regarded me before sliding his glasses up his nose. "Yeah." He glanced back at his desk and the completed book he had written on the process of creating pocket dimensions before speaking again, "I wanted to solve some storage problems we had back in Akihabara. Pocket dimension would allow us to expand the storage capacity of the banks and therefor my own influence over the players who are unruly."

One of my eyebrows raised at his blatant manipulation of the guilds before I shrugged in response to his own raised brow. "I can’t judge I guess, I just conquered a country not but a day ago... Or is it two days? Time is weird." I stated offhandedly whilst settling next to him, staring down at the new book he had written.

"It’s only been a day, if you left a day after it happened. You know that and are just trying to distract me from the fact that you conquered a country... Which is intriguing considering the amount of resources you could now technically supply the chat room if you wanted to..." Shiroe mused before his voice faded and he entered into thought.

"I could always grant a lot of resources, my powers are bullshit. This just means that I can outsource the process to less efficient industries instead of using my precious time to create them." I pulled a nearby chair and sat down as I finished my pseudo speech.

"Ah, a fair problem. I would have simply manipulated the banking system into my favour and then had them fight each other whilst I reaped the benefits and outsourced any resource issues to other people using money... But your way has far more autonomy and much less risk of failure if you have enough military force behind you." Shiroe rubbed his eyes as he worked through our approaches.

"Meh, both could have worked... In my universe though there are a bunch of super powerful people that can topple the global economic system if they wanted to. Owning a country is far superior for security since I could simply create a new banking system using my abilities and technology, meaning I’m not effected at all by the shenanigans of other people." I eased back onto the chair and grabbed his book, opening it to the first page and reading the introduction to what he called ’dimensional-weaving’.

"Yeah, probably better you did what you did." Shiroe acquiesced as he watched me flick past the first and second page in less than ten seconds, my mind already having dedicated those pages to memory as the details of his research began popping up.

"Your way works very well if you’re trying to use stealth and subterfuge to slowly accumulate power whilst your are weak and growing strong. Manipulating financial institutions is the classic way that people gain wealth, through loopholes or simply knowing people who control those cogs of power... I’d say my way of doing it is more akin to a General than a Politician. Your way is the Diplomacy route, to use gaming terms..." I extrapolated whilst I flicked past the thirtieth page, the details of how he was creating talismans using his scribe skill to create anchor points that are used as an outline for a dimensional breach imprinting itself in my mind.

"Ah, well, I’ve never played classes that are heavily PVP based... I prefer the support role. It allows me to control a battle or outcome in a direction I like." Shiroe rubbed the back of his neck as he watched me ’skim’ past another ten pages.

"Yeah that is fair... I’m kind of the same but I design my soldiers in such a way that they can do tasks for me. I dislike some of the more chaotic elements of relying on people’s psychology to have them do things for me... A lot of villains and heroes have fallen in fiction because of over-reliance on other people to do things for them." I responded whilst I reached the core of Shiroe’s research on creating pocket dimensions... The Talismans are permanently bonded to the material or item they are placed to becoming runes that weave the raw space that the talismans ripped open, creating a spherical space beyond the breach that was stabilized by the permanent nature of the runes on the outside...

’I can copy this easily. Hell, this is probably easier than the Wizarding World’s way of doing this...’ I thought appraisingly.

"Ah, how are the robots coming along?" Shiroe asked in curiosity, his quill poised over one of his notebooks... It seemed he was interested in my FR2s.

’Wait, this can achieve what the mega-structure that allowed for the creation of the ZPMs did but with some paper talismans and a sprinkle of magic... Hah! Take that Morgan LeFay!’ I stifled laughter as I started giving some general information on how the FR2s were designed and what they had on them for combat and medical situations. Shiroe was noting everything down whilst murmuring about making golems or constructs.

"Hmmm, I wonder If I could make an FR3 that has a far larger ammo-cache through dimensional pockets in the arms?" I murmured as my brain started generating several hundred different ways that pocket dimensions could be used for warfare or for travel...

’WAIT! Traditional warp drives could be made using this... Create a bubble of space-time, a pocket dimension, and poke a hole on the other side with a set of coordinates and we could probably jerry-rig an instant FTL drive that allows us to teleport instantly through galaxies.’ It would require a lot of testing but it could be possible.

"Hmmm, I could possibly link pocket dimensions across universes and we could simply have a hallway that connects all of us together." Shiroe picked up on the same bandwidth I was currently running on but in a unique direction.

"I’ve already done that, plus my way allows us to transport a lot more than just ourselves." I interrupted that specific use of his dimensional-weaving.

"Yeah, but what about creating factories across universes? You could connect a mine in my world to one of your factories in Luke’s universe, then you could create the parts or whatever there and send the end product through immediately to your home universe... All within seconds of each other and it will always be present so long as the runes are intact." He countered smugly, his fingers snapping his glasses to the top of his nose, the lenses flashing somehow; it was probably magic, definitely couldn’t be anime logic, that would be in wrong form for the world of Harry Potter.

"Damn..." I muttered.

"This is a touch broken, the admins should probably be called at this point." Shiroe commented in exasperation as his shining glasses settled down and the reality of creating pocket-dimensions, so easily, weighed down onto his conscious.

"Magic, what is it good for? Eh..?" I laughed suddenly after misquoting a popular song back on earth.

Shiroe shook his head and scoffed at the irreverent tone I had used, all the while Harry and his family were raucously talking down below in the loungeroom.

Meanwhile, In Little Hangleton...

"In the name of the father..." A man with a cross intoned solemnly over the top of a gravestone in the dreary cemetery, "The son and the Holy Spirit... Amen." The man finished his prayer as the grave of Tom Marvolo Riddle’s father sported fresh flowers.

The local church did this from time to time, gracing the forgotten graves with fresh flowers in hopes that those who had passed on would either continue to enjoy the presence of god or finally escape Hell through repentance and find God’s grace once more.

"Father Anthony, why do you insist on doing this for the Riddles?" A nearby elderly woman asked, a veil of black hanging over her face as she watched the priest slowly rise from his knelt position.

"Everyone deserves the curtesy of thought and kindness, perhaps the Riddles more than most... What was inflicted upon them was God’s will but still something that we as humans should feel empathy for." The priest informed softly, his golden eyes drifting over the statue of the angel of death that loomed atop the grave.

"Ah, bullshit. The Riddles were homosexuals and incestuous at best, the bible states that they deserve no empathy." The old woman spat before marching off in a huff.

The priest merely shrugged in resignation for her soul and actions.

He stared at the grave for a minute or so, his mind working away at the problems and truths that the old lady had stated. Half-way into deliberating his answer a distinct popping sound echoed from behind him, his wand lowering into his right hand as several dark presences made themselves known.

"Avada Kedavra!" "Avada Kedavra!""Avada Kedavra!""Avada Kedavra~!"

Four killing curses swarmed towards his back and around him before he could even think of turning around, let alone dodging... It was within these last few seconds that he witnessed four Death Eaters march towards him with giggles and laughter bubbling out of their throats.

"The Dark Lord will return, we just needed a close relative’s corpse... Thank you, for the donation..." A man with a slithery voice whispered into the relative silence of the priest’s death as the maddened cackles of a woman reverberated in the background.

Nothing else existed for the man past this point as he slumped to the ground limply, his eyes vacant and his soul already cleaved from this mortal coil.
