Jiang Li lifted her chin. "Let’s go."
Shen Yanzhi looked back, and upon seeing Jiang Li in a tracksuit, said, "I’ll go change too. This outfit is too formal."
Jiang Li blinked in confusion but didn’t say anything.
’It’s not like we have anything else to do today anyway. He could go for a full spa treatment, let alone just change his outfit.’
When Shen Yanzhi came out again, he had changed into a gray tracksuit identical to Jiang Li’s. Anyone who didn’t know better would have thought they were wearing matching couple’s outfits.
Jiang Li glanced down at her own clothes, then at Shen Yanzhi’s, wondering if he had done it on purpose.
’But as an adult, she knew some questions were better left unanswered.’
’After all, if she was wrong, things would get awkward.’
The two of them left the room, went downstairs, and hailed a taxi straight to the most luxurious mall in the city.
It was eight stories tall, with countless shops large and small. The sheer variety of goods was staggering, almost like a wholesale market.
The first place they went to was a men’s clothing store. A sales associate greeted them as soon as they walked in. "Hello, welcome to Biteer."
"What style of clothing are you two looking for today?"
Afraid Shen Yanzhi would object, Jiang Li beat him to it and replied, "We can look at business or casual styles."
Thinking of the monotonous sea of shirts in his closet, Jiang Li added, "Something a bit more colorful. No white or black."
The associate made an inviting gesture. "You two can take a look over here. These have more vibrant colors and are perfect for either casual wear or parties."
Jiang Li immediately spotted a light blue suit. It had a novel design, with the shirt and vest combined into a single mock two-piece.
She pointed at it and looked at Shen Yanzhi with anticipation, blinking. "Why don’t you try it on? I’ve never seen you in a blue suit!"
Shen Yanzhi’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He looked away and replied, "Okay."
’Forget trying on clothes—if Jiang Li asked him to pluck the stars from the sky, he would do it without a second thought.’
The associate took down the suit and led Shen Yanzhi to the fitting room. Then, she stood beside Jiang Li and remarked, "You two have such a wonderful relationship."
Jiang Li smiled and scratched her head. "It’s alright."
Waiting around was boring, so Jiang Li gestured with her chin. "You can pick out a few more outfits for him."
The associate’s eyes lit up. ’Looks like my compliment hit the mark,’ she thought, then said gleefully, "Of course, I’ll go right now."
There was a mirror in the fitting room. The moment he saw his reflection, Shen Yanzhi had an urge to rip the suit right off.
It was the first time he’d ever worn such a brightly colored suit, and every fiber of his being felt uncomfortable.
After giving himself a lengthy pep talk, he hesitantly stepped out of the fitting room. Meeting Jiang Li’s appraising gaze, he asked, lacking confidence, "How does it look?"
Jiang Li gave him a thumbs-up. "It’s absolutely perfect!"
’He looks years younger in it.’
’The time and place were all wrong. Otherwise, she’d have shown Shen Yanzhi exactly what it means to be pounced on.’
’To think such a handsome man was hers... The very thought brought her a wave of happiness.’
Her eyes were glued to Shen Yanzhi. "I remember this comes in a few other colors. Why don’t you try on every single one?"
The corner of Shen Yanzhi’s mouth twitched. "How about we don’t?"
’The blue one alone nearly killed him, never mind several other colors.’
Jiang Li wasn’t discouraged by his refusal. "Alright, if you don’t want to, you don’t have to."
’Besides, she knew his size. She’d just buy all the other colors anyway.’
’He’d have to wear them whether he wanted to or not.’
Just then, the associate returned with a few more outfits she had selected. "Sir, your wife asked me to pick these out for you. Would you like to try them on to see if they fit?"
Hearing this, Shen Yanzhi raised an eyebrow almost imperceptibly. "Alright."
Jiang Li was dumbfounded. ’What a blatant double standard!’
’The clothes she’d asked him to try on were just as colorful as the ones the associate picked out; only the styles were different.’

While Shen Yanzhi was back in the fitting room, Jiang Li called the associate over. "Please bag up the outfits you just brought over, as well as the blue suit and that same style in every other color."
Just as the associate was about to leave, Jiang Li added, "And pick out a few trench coats and hoodies as well."
’He had suits now, so trench coats and hoodies were also essential.’
’A man that handsome had to try every style. It’d be a shame not to.’
