Shen Yanzhi got up, took his bowl and chopsticks, and sat down to Jiang Li’s left. Lu Zhi’an immediately said, "I’m a bit lonely over here by myself. Why don’t I sit next to you?"
Zheng Qi’s lip twitched. "Suit yourself."
’No wonder they say the city is full of schemes. I thought Shen Yanzhi moved over for Jiang Li, but it turns out it was just an excuse for someone else to move over.’

Zheng Qi did a spit-take with her drink. Lu Zhi’an immediately handed her a napkin. Zheng Qi took it and thanked him. "But it wasn’t that exaggerated."
’It was a good thing the lazy Susan was automatic and the dishes were placed closer to the center, or else Zheng Qi would have ruined them all by herself.’
Lu Zhi’an started patting Zheng Qi’s back to soothe her. "Calm down, don’t get so worked up."
’You really couldn’t blame her for being worked up.’

Jiang Li, who had been keeping an eye on the commotion, asked, "You two are making such a scene. Should we get you your own table?"

As if remembering something, he pulled a brocade box from his pocket. "Sister-in-law, this is a wedding gift for you."
Jiang Li raised an eyebrow as she accepted it. "You’re a funny one. We’re already halfway through the meal, and you’re only just now remembering to give a gift."
Lu Zhi’an scratched his head in embarrassment. "Well, I only just remembered."
Jiang Li set the brocade box aside, a knowing, aunt-like smile on her face. "I get it."

Shen Yanzhi was in charge of putting food on Jiang Li’s plate, acting as part of the background.
Lu Zhi’an would chat with Zheng Qi from time to time, and the atmosphere was quite harmonious.
After the meal was over, the two of them even exchanged contact information.
Jiang Li shot Shen Yanzhi a look. Shen Yanzhi said, "It’s getting late. Xiao Li and I will head back first. Zhi’an, I’m counting on you to take Zheng home."
Lu Zhi’an shot Shen Yanzhi a grateful look. "Leave it to me."
Jiang Li stood up and patted Zheng Qi’s shoulder. "We’ll be heading out then."
Zheng Qi waved her hand. "Be safe on the way."
If she had needed Jiang Li to accompany her in the beginning, now, after spending over an hour together, that initial awkwardness was gone.
The moment they left the room, Shen Yanzhi asked, "So? Do you think it’ll work out between them?"
Jiang Li considered Zheng Qi’s current attitude. "I’d say there’s a good chance."
"I mean, if I were Zheng Qi and a handsome, rich guy was pursuing me, I definitely wouldn’t say no."
Shen Yanzhi seized on the key point. "You think Lu Zhi’an is handsome?"
Jiang Li’s lip twitched. "What? He’s your buddy, for crying out loud. Am I not allowed to say he’s handsome?"
Shen Yanzhi turned his face away. "No."
Shen Yanzhi’s reaction made Jiang Li think of a certain word: *tsundere*.
Jiang Li laughed. "Alright, alright. If you say so."
Once they were in the car, Jiang Li finally started to open the gifts from the two of them.
Zheng Qi had given her a sleep-promoting aromatherapy set, while Lu Zhi’an had given her a diamond bracelet.
Back home, she went upstairs, put the bracelet in her jewelry box, and casually grabbed a set of pajamas.
Her gaze swept over to the bag on the side. After a moment’s hesitation, she took the aromatherapy from the bag and lit it with a lighter.
After she got out of the shower, she felt a little hot as soon as she got into bed.
Before she could even lie down, Shen Yanzhi pounced on her like a starving wolf, so passionate it was almost excessive, as if he wanted to devour her whole.
Jiang Li protested, "Hey, what kind of decent person does this every single day?"
A smile glinted in Shen Yanzhi’s eyes. "After being a vegetarian for so many years, I’ve finally gotten a taste of meat. What do you think?"
