The front desk clerk wanted to, but it was out of her hands.
She bit her lip and explained, "Boss, it’s not that I don’t want to get you a room. The thing is, the system won’t let me check anyone in until the payment has gone through."
Jiang Li was surprised the hotel had a system like that and scratched her head. "Don’t you have a master key? Can’t you use that?"
"Only the housekeeping staff has master keys, and they’re only supposed to be used for cleaning or in case of emergencies."
Jiang Li let out a "tsk."
’I thought we could check in as soon as I bought the place. I never expected it to be this much trouble.’
’I was hoping to get them settled and head home, but now it looks like I’m stuck here too.’
’Then again, Zhong Xu went to find the person in charge, so this should be sorted out soon. It won’t be a problem for long.’
She gave Zhao Jingyi a look. "Fine, we’ll just wait over there for a bit." Zhao Jingyi quickly picked up the contract.
The three of them went to a nearby sofa and sat down. The quick-witted receptionist immediately poured three glasses of warm water and served them one by one.

Brushing some imaginary dust off her clothes, she said to Zhao Jingyi and Xia Mengxue, "Come on, let’s get you checked in."
Once they were at the front desk, the two of them took out their IDs.
Jiang Li gestured grandly. "Book it for a month to start."
’If someone else booked the room for a full month, they’d have to spend money all over again. It was better to book it for a month in one go and eliminate any future trouble.’
Knowing she was the new boss, the receptionist immediately gave her a 50% discount on the room rate.
Once the room was booked and the key cards were in hand, Jiang Li turned to the two of them. "Alright, you two can stay here for now. I’ll have the computers and other equipment sent over."
Xia Mengxue asked, reluctant to see her leave, "Sister, are you going already?"
Jiang Li didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. "I have other things to do. I can’t stay with you two all the time."
Although Zhao Jingyi was also reluctant to see her go, she knew Jiang Li had already helped them enough.

Jiang Li took the contract and waved to them. "Alright, I’m heading out then."
Once at the door, she had Xie Wan come pick her up.
She was in a pretty good mood, probably from having resolved a major issue. After getting in the car, she said to Xie Wan, "To the supermarket. I need to buy some groceries."

After looking around for a bit, she picked out some fruit and snacks.
It was only when she was about to check out that she remembered she was there to buy groceries for a meal. She went back and got some seafood and other ingredients.
When she got back to the villa, Shen Yanzhi hadn’t returned yet.
After a moment’s thought, she gave Shen Yanzhi a call. "When are you coming back?"
Shen Yanzhi paused, then replied, "I’m not coming back home. I’m going straight to dinner in a bit."
"You’re home already?"
Only then did Jiang Li remember they were having dinner with Lu Zhi’an and Zheng Qi that evening. She gave an embarrassed laugh. "Yeah, I just finished up."
Shen Yanzhi shook his head in resignation. "Should I come back and pick you up?"
"No, it’s fine. I’ll just have Xie Wan take me. You don’t need to make a special trip."
