Chapter 30: Chocolate Memories
No wonder he couldn’t detect her approaching earlier.
Not only was he distracted, but her footsteps also produced no sound.
There were countless spells and skills like those, such as silent steps, assassin’s aura, etc.
Fredrinn couldn’t place a finger on which one hers was, but it at least allowed him to raise Jenny from the random category to the interesting category in his mind.
Currently only Jacob and Jenny were in that tier.
Andrea, Rhea and Naomi were in the thrall candidates tier.
However, Andrea misread the interaction completely.
In her eyes, she only saw Fredrinn staring at Jenny’s retreating back, the jiggling movement of her ass as it rose and fell in a hypnotic manner.
It was so well shaped and perfect that even she, as a woman, felt threatened.
In addition, she didn’t even bother to notice that Jenny’s footsteps made no sound. Why would she care? She had bigger problems to deal with at the moment!
She turned and gazed at Fredrinn, whose hand was still resting intimately on her thigh.
Every time he moved his finger even slightly, she felt it, making her fists clench as she struggled to control her hormones.
Once Jenny was gone out of the picture, Andrea shifted away from him, forcefully removing his hand from her body as she pouted.
She was giving him full reign over her body and yet that bastard was more interested in staring at that blondie’s ass?
Fredrinn blinked incredulously. He didn’t even know why she was feeling mad.
His eyes then fell over Naomi and Rhea, who were both sitting a small distance away and looking in their direction while holding their phones out.
Naomi seemed to be turning it on every couple seconds before turning it off, while Rhea was only holding it for show.
"Did you guys have some food earlier?" Fredrinn asked casually, asking all the three of them.
"Yes. We ate together if you don’t remember that either." Andrea scoffed softly as she replied. A small pout was still visible on her face as she folded her hands under her breasts.
But that only made those melons pump up more and look even more tantalizing.
"Uh, yeah." Rhea also answered briefly, nodding.
She then paused, her mouth parting open as if she had something to speak but couldn’t find the right words.
"Are you still hungry...?" Rhea continued, tilting her head as she said apologetically, "I’m sorry that we finished your noodles and you barely got anything. I can ask Jacob for more and make some if you want..."
It was her way of interpreting his question.
After all, why would someone pick up the food topic if they weren’t hungry themselves?
Finally, Naomi was the last one to reply.
"I... ate in the evening earlier." She said softly, "Jacob distributed some biscuit packets."
Fredrinn nodded to all their replies before turning to Andrea, "I do remember that we ate together, Andrea."
Then he turned to Rhea, "Thank you for asking but I am not hungry." He smiled genuinely.
He felt touched by her caring nature.
And finally, he looked at Naomi.
Although she didn’t say much, it wasn’t hard to guess that she was still hungry.
Just her tone was enough to convey that. She probably didn’t mention it because she didn’t want to sound too annoying.
"Only biscuits?" Fredrinn questioned patiently.
"Yes." Naomi nodded, "When Jacob was acting as the leader, he said that we do not know how long we are going to be trapped here, and hence we should preserve our rations for as long as possible.
In addition, there’s no bathroom here so eating too much would be another kind of trouble that he didn’t want to deal with."
"Pfft–" A laugh slipped out of Fredrinn’s lips.
He could understand Jacob’s thought process and where he was coming from, but the way Naomi mimicked Jacob made him laugh.
Clearly she was still holding grudges over getting underfed.
He slipped his hand into his jacket and pulled out two chocolate bars.
Jenny had tossed them to him earlier and he had stored them without much thought. Who knew they would come to use so soon?
They were the large kind, the ones that he had seen in his childhood.
His mother used to keep them inside the fridge and give him a couple of pieces every day.
At that time he used to devise plans to open the fridge and sneak out the chocolate, but he was too short to do so.
"Here, an apology gift from me if you will. Share it with Rhea too." Fredrinn tossed the chocolate bar towards Naomi as he reminisced about the fond memory.
He never knew that he would remember the past from a fricking chocolate bar, but he wasn’t complaining.
On an autopilot, he tore the outer cover before unwrapping the aluminium foil around the chocolate, breaking it in half and then breaking the half into two parts once again.
"Gift from me," He gave Andrea one-fourth of the chocolate, making her snatch it with a humph.
"Gift from you or from that blondie?" She mumbled.
"Uh, her gift was to me and my gift was to you? So technically, from me." Fredrinn chuckled before looking down at the piece of chocolate in his hand.
If his child version saw it, he would probably complain that it was days worth of chocolate, but to Fredrinn, it was still way too small to satiate his hunger.
Still, just for the old times sake, he broke the piece into a smaller one before popping it in his mouth.
The chocolate melted in his mouth, the silkyness of the food assaulting his untrained taste buds which weren’t ready for such deliciousness.
He closed his eyes unconsciously, not daring to bite the piece as he let it melt completely before swallowing it.
Then without even opening his eyes, he broke another piece and tossed it in his mouth.
Outside, Andrea watched him blankly. The man that had made her wet more times than she could count, and had kissed her right in front of a crowd, was currently acting like a child that tasted chocolate for the first time!
She turned to look at Rhea.
Before both ended up laughing.
