However, Lu Cheng was mindful of their surroundings, so he kept the kiss brief.
Of course, he wanted nothing more than to announce to the world that Shen Nian was his wife. But this was a school, after all, and he didn’t want her to become the subject of campus gossip because of him.
"I’ll get going now. If you need anything, make sure you call me."
"Okay. Be sure to miss me. I’ll be missing you too!"
After a reluctant goodbye, Shen Nian watched Lu Cheng leave before heading upstairs with her shopping bags, back to her new domain: Dorm 304.
When Shen Nian opened the door, she found that her other roommates in the four-person dorm had all arrived.
"Shen Nian, you’re back!"
Qi Yunzhi’s face lit up when she saw Shen Nian walk in, and she happily walked over to her side.
"Perfect timing! Now everyone in our dorm is finally here! Let me introduce you all. This is Shen Nian, a Traditional Chinese Medicine major. This is Cao Yuqing, an English major and a local, like me. And this is Wang Chunhua, also an English major, from Province W. By the way, Shen Nian, where are you from?"
After finishing the introductions, Qi Yunzhi looked at Shen Nian. She had only asked for some basic information before and hadn’t found out where Shen Nian was from.
"I’m from H Province."
Shen Nian replied with a nod, her gaze shifting to the two girls Qi Yunzhi had just introduced.
Cao Yuqing was dressed similarly to Qi Yunzhi. Both had a refined style, and you could tell at a glance that they came from well-off families.
Unlike Qi Yunzhi’s poised and easygoing nature, however, Shen Nian sensed a hint of arrogance from Cao Yuqing. This condescending attitude became even more apparent when she heard Shen Nian was from H Province.
’So, as an out-of-towner, am I already being ostracized by the locals?’
Wang Chunhua, on the other hand, was dressed rather plainly, and her personality seemed a bit timid. From this and Qi Yunzhi’s introduction, Shen Nian could tell that Wang Chunhua probably came from an ordinary background.
She had just been standing with Cao Yuqing and Qi Yunzhi, and the contrast had probably made her feel quite awkward.
It wasn’t until Shen Nian arrived, and especially after learning that Shen Nian was also from out of town, that Wang Chunhua seemed to relax considerably.
"So, our dorm is two locals and two out-of-towners. Shen Nian, Wang Chunhua, if there’s anything you don’t know about B City, you can always ask me and Cao Yuqing!"
Qi Yunzhi meant nothing ill by her words; she simply believed that roommates should help each other out.
However, as soon as she finished speaking, Cao Yuqing let out an audible, cold snort, clearly uninterested in this enthusiastic offer of mutual aid.
After snorting, Cao Yuqing turned and walked to her bed. She sat down and started arranging the expensive skincare products on her desk, completely ignoring the others.
Shen Nian was unbothered, but Qi Yunzhi, who had just been speaking, looked embarrassed. Wang Chunhua’s face also fell, her insecurities likely triggered by Cao Yuqing’s dismissive glance.
Shen Nian shook her head inwardly. ’Looks like not everyone in this dorm is going to be easy to get along with. And I have to say, I really don’t care for Cao Yuqing’s supercilious attitude.’
’I wonder what kind of background Cao Yuqing has to make her so arrogant. Even Chu Lingxiu, the young lady of the Chu Family, wasn’t this haughty!’
Thinking about it, Shen Nian suddenly felt that although Chu Lingxiu was willful, her willfulness seemed almost agreeable compared to the supercilious Cao Yuqing.
