"Sister, me too!"
Shen Nian heard a young, boyish voice beside her. She turned her head and, sure enough, saw Gu Zifan standing right next to Gu Hengzhi.
"Fanfan, you’re here too!"
Upon seeing Gu Zifan, the anger on Shen Nian’s face quickly melted into joy. She never expected to see him here. The sight of him was enough to soothe some of the fury she’d felt just moments before.
"Yeah, I came with my big brother!"
Gu Zifan nodded. He had finally convinced his big brother to take him out to find her, but for days on end, his brother had been too busy.
Today, he’d finally caught his big brother on a day off and had pestered him into taking him out. He never imagined he’d actually run into Sister Xiao Nian. He was ecstatic!
But his joy was short-lived. The moment he saw someone daring to cause trouble for Sister Xiao Nian, his little face went cold.
Gu Zifan knew he was still little and not very strong, but his big brother was! So he immediately tugged on his brother’s sleeve, urging him to go help Sister Xiao Nian.
But when Gu Zifan looked up, he saw his brother already staring in Sister Xiao Nian’s direction, his brow furrowed as if he’d seen something deeply troubling.
When he saw the men about to lay a hand on Shen Nian, Gu Zifan panicked. He turned to call out to his brother, but before he could say a word, he saw that his brother was already striding toward Sister Xiao Nian. So, he scrambled to follow.
Just as he’d expected, his big brother was amazing. He stopped the men before they could even touch Sister Xiao Nian. Moreover, the moment those bad guys saw his brother, their faces filled with fear.

The three men fixed their pleading gazes on Gu Hengzhi. They hadn’t paid Shen Nian any mind, and they certainly weren’t concerned about a little kid like Gu Zifan. The one they truly feared was Gu Hengzhi.
Gu Hengzhi glanced at the three of them and didn’t speak, instead turning to look at Shen Nian.
He didn’t say a word, but his meaning was perfectly clear: the person they had offended was Shen Nian. Begging him for mercy was pointless.
The three men understood his unspoken message, and that very understanding filled them with even greater terror.
’Just who is this woman? What’s her background, that this esteemed member of the Gu family would treat her like this?’
But it was obvious this was no time for curiosity. Their pleading gazes shifted from Gu Hengzhi directly to Shen Nian.
However, before they could start begging, the little boy beside Shen Nian beat them to it.
"Sister, they’re all bad guys! They wanted to bully you, so you can’t let them off the hook! Big Brother is here, and so is Fanfan—we’ll definitely protect you!"
As he spoke, Gu Zifan, still worried Shen Nian might get bullied, tugged at her arm to pull her behind him. Then, he turned and shot the three men his most ferocious glare.
"Mhm, I believe you, Fanfan," Shen Nian said, "but don’t you worry. I won’t be bullied."
After saying this, Shen Nian turned to the three men. Gu Hengzhi had already released the man he was holding, but since he hadn’t said a word, none of them dared to run.
