Chapter 398: I’ll Tell You Right Now

Shen Nian looked at Lu Cheng and started to worry about the things she had just said. ’Did my words go too far? Did I provoke him too much?’
However, before Shen Nian could dwell on it, she felt herself being lifted into the air.
"Ah!"
Shen Nian cried out, looking at Lu Cheng, who had suddenly walked up and swept her into his arms.
Lu Cheng didn’t say a word, simply carrying Shen Nian straight into their bedroom.
After gently placing Shen Nian on the bed, Lu Cheng closed the door and drew the curtains.
Only after confirming that no one could see inside from the outside did Lu Cheng return to the side of the bed.
"Um, don’t get too worked up."
Shen Nian said to Lu Cheng, swallowing nervously after she spoke.
Then, the words her two sisters-in-law had told her began to echo in her mind, and her face immediately flushed red.
"Do you think I shouldn’t be excited?"
Lu Cheng said as he looked at Shen Nian, his expression all but spelling it out for her.
’Calm down. You need to be calm. Just stay calm.’
Lu Cheng slowly walked to the side of the bed and gazed at Shen Nian for a long moment. He then leaned down and brushed a light kiss across her lips before moving close to her ear to whisper.
"Now, I’ll show you exactly what I’m capable of!"
With that, Lu Cheng lowered his head and captured her lips in a deep kiss.
When she woke up the next day, it was already broad daylight. Shen Nian lay in bed, gazing at the sunlight filtering through the curtains, her mind in a haze.
Of course, Shen Nian hadn’t forgotten what happened last night. The memory of it, even now, made her want to pull the covers over her head and hide.
At some point, everything had just spiraled out of control.
Toward the end, she only vaguely remembered Lu Cheng carrying her to the bathroom in a daze.
She was now in clean clothes, and the sheets on the bed had been replaced with a fresh set—all thanks to Lu Cheng.
Still, whenever she thought about last night, all Shen Nian wanted to do was huff at Lu Cheng.
Even so, she didn’t regret it one bit. ’Now, Lu Cheng and I are finally a real husband and wife!’
At that thought, Shen Nian couldn’t help but smile as she lay in bed.
Seeing how bright it was outside, Shen Nian knew it was getting late and struggled to sit up.

’It was so unfair! She was aching all over like this, yet Lu Cheng was still able to go to work feeling refreshed and full of energy!’
The pain was too much, and Shen Nian fell back onto the bed. Soon after, she heard a noise from outside the room.
’Huh? Is someone home?’
Shen Nian soon found out the source of the noise when Lu Cheng strode into the bedroom. But...
