Chapter 425: A Good Deed?
This fleeting guest didn't attract anyone's attention on the farm at all. After planting the seeds he had on hand, Ron wiped the sweat from his forehead, took the water handed to him by Indeedee, and sat down by the eaves of the roof as he drank.
In two days at most, Ron would be ready to prepare for his trip to Kalos.
However, since Dawn was abducted and brought back from the Sinnoh region by the Wizard and Indeedee, when he took her to Kalos later, he'd probably have to help buy her a return ticket to Sinnoh.
While Ron was thinking, Indeedee, who was standing nearby, slipped away somewhat awkwardly.
Ron, not having the time to notice this, set his water glass aside and waved at Magearna.
So, Magearna walked over and began reporting the current total quantities of the farm's various products, as well as the items that needed to be purchased next.
"I'll leave the farm to you for the few days I'm in Kalos," Ron added.
"Magearna!"
Magearna nodded, turning her head to take a look at the farm.
Under Magearna's allocation, the Rattatas were currently working together with the Geodudes to dig up the withered crops and plant new seeds in their place.
The farm was bustling with activity, making it feel like, for a brief moment, she had returned to the past, to the days when she worked on the farm alongside everyone.
"Magearna."
After handing over the work and resting for a bit, Ron took the shopping list of seeds he needed to buy and headed to Pierre's store.
It was basically a routine. Aside from buying the things he needed, he would also inform Caroline and Pierre about his trip to Kalos, and then help the couple bring some things to Abigail.
Before he even entered the door, Ron heard Pierre's voice coming from inside.
"No, I really can't eat anymore. Who in their right mind eats this stuff?"
"Then why did you make so much!" Caroline said, slamming the pile of Seafoam Pudding onto the counter. "I don't care, you made it so you have to finish it! No wasting!"
Otherwise, wouldn't her kitchen have suffered in vain? Heaven knows how much time she spent getting it cleaned up.
Pierre sighed heavily, scooped up a little bit with a spoon, and fed it into his mouth. Just then, Ron walked in, and Pierre's eyes lit up.
"Ron, want to try this? Half price right now—no, low price, only 1000g!"
"Ignore him, he stockpiled a ton and couldn't sell it," Caroline said, shoving Pierre aside, then asked, "Do you need to buy something?"
"Yeah, I need some seeds." Ron handed the list to the counter. Pierre, still struggling with the Seafoam Pudding, stood up as if granted a royal pardon, grabbed the list, and scurried to the warehouse.
Caroline laughed. "He probably won't dare make this again in the future. It's right that he learns a lesson."
"I'm going on a trip to Kalos in a few days," Ron said. "Do you need me to bring anything for you?"
"Eh?" Caroline looked at Ron in surprise, her eyes widening in delighted shock. "Can you?! That's wonderful! I'll prepare it and send it over right away. I really don't know how to thank you. The Dance of the Moonlight Jellies is also considered a day for reunion."
The couple actually missed Abigail terribly.
In past years, they could always see her bouncing around the docks. In a flash, Abigail had already been in Kalos for over a year.
Ron smiled and waved his hand. Seeing Pierre return, he took the seeds from his hands, bid the two farewell, and left.
Pierre sat back at the counter with a worried look on his face. Just as he was mentally preparing himself to fight these Seafoam Puddings, he saw Caroline's busy figure.
After a moment, he realized something and stood up from his chair.
"Ron's going to Kalos again?"
"Yeah, hurry up and prepare the things," Caroline said, already turning around and bustling about the house.
Pierre looked at Caroline, then at the Seafoam Pudding on the table. After a moment, he picked up the puddings, deciding to do a good deed for the first time in a long while.

The moment chasing the Moonlight Jellies disappeared past the coastline was exactly when the sun rose from the sea.
Sailor lay by the railing, watching in awe as the sun leapt out of the ocean. Then, the warm yellow light covered the entire sea surface in an instant.
"How is it?" Willy asked, biting on his pipe.
"Ratta!" Sailor stood up on its hind legs, stretching out both paws, feeling the sea breeze blowing from the horizon. It closed its eyes in pure contentment.
This was exactly the transitional moment between summer and fall, so the sea breeze not only carried the sweet, cloying fragrance of summer, but also a hint of the bitter scent of fall—of withered, yellowing, decaying leaves. All the scents mixed together, and surprisingly, it wasn't bad.
Willy didn't speak anymore. He stared at the horizon, blowing out a long ring of smoke.
When people are confused or disheartened, they should look at the sea. Knowing how vast the world is, they would no longer get bogged down by minor details.
He looked down at Sailor.
Sailor lay there, wearing its little captain's hat on its head. Its expression was hidden, but looking at its wagging tail, one could easily tell its mood was quite good.
It's fall again, huh.
It wasn't until noon that the small boat sailed back to Pelican Town.
Willy chewed on a piece of smoked dried fish, just about to pack up and take a nap. As soon as he disembarked, he saw Pierre standing there.
"Why are you here?" Willy asked curiously. He opened the door as he glanced over Pierre. "What's up, need to buy some fish?"
"No."
This was Pierre's first time doing a direct good deed.
After a fierce internal struggle, Pierre barely managed to squeeze the words out of his mouth.
"Um—uh, this—Seafoam Pudding—"
"I can't afford it," Willy answered bluntly.
"No!" Pierre glared at Willy with some resentment. "I didn't say I was selling it to you."
Willy raised an eyebrow.
It was obvious the Seafoam Pudding didn't sell yesterday. He didn't believe for a second that Pierre didn't have ulterior motives regarding him.
After all, in the entirety of Pelican Town, he was probably the only one who actually liked eating this stuff.
"Uh—I'm giving it to you." Under Willy's shocked gaze, Pierre placed the massive stack of Seafoam Pudding in his hands onto the table. "If there's nothing else, I'm going back."
"Wait? Give it to me?" Willy pinched himself.
As an old sailor, he felt he had the courage to face any storm or wave.
But that didn't include the town's ultimate miser gifting him a massive pile of expensive Seafoam Pudding.
"Really? No extra charges?"
"No need—" Pierre didn't feel the beauty of doing a good deed for the day at all. He only felt a profound ache in his wallet.
So, Willy paused.
"Alright, reciprocity is key." Willy walked straight into the house, then fished out a pearl. "I'll give you this. I heard Ron is going to Kalos in a few days. If you make this into an accessory, Abigail will probably love it."
