Slime Girl

Chapter 302

- Shari -

"So, what do you think?" (Liqu)

Okay, I'm out of words.

Liqu just took common sense and threw it into the gutter.

What else could I say, aside from...

"That was by far one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen, and I know you already!" (Vela)

Yeah, that.

"Awh, but look, I can really move well in this disguise!" (Liqu)

Disguise isn't the right word for what it actually poses to be.

This is a fleshcoat!

She's wearing this man's outer hull like some piece of clothing, while her slime sustains the general form from the inside.

"Okay, I can see that you're moving, Liqu, but this is just wrong!" (Shari)

"Oh, it's the voice, right? Let's see, I need to adjust it a bit like this, then that way, now a little more like this... and... voila!" (Liqu)

While she's talking, her voice gradually becomes deeper and more masculine, until it eventually sounds just like the man supposedly would sound like.

I don't know what distresses me the most.

To see Liqu do something like this, how casual she is about the act, or that the slime I always traveled with just took on a male persona, and what the implications are for me.

Yeah, the implications are truly the greatest issue.

In different ways.

"What did you actually mean by 'this could work'?" (Shari)

"Well, you said we'd have to reach this human that we wanted to reach. And those humans were with him, as you just said. So, if we'd go there like this, maybe we could just walk up to him?" (Liqu)

In a flesh coat?!

"Liqu, you can't be serious!" (Shari)

"Actually, this plan has its merits. It might actually work." (Vela)

What!?

"Vela?! You're absolutely the last one I'd have believed to say something that would even remotely support this!" (Shari)

"I'm pragmatic here. She truly looks like a normal human. Furthermore, like one of them. I also know you two can imitate voices as well. She just did. Therefore, this disguise may work." (Vela)

"In what way?! We walk up to the gates, and Liqu tells them she took you and me prisoner? Who would believe this?!" (Shari)

"Ehm, no. Not quite." (Vela)

"Not quite!? How else?! I mean, why would we... Oh no. Please tell me you're not actually suggesting that." (Shari)

"I'm suggesting nothing. You were the one who wanted to infiltrate the enemy headquarters as soon as possible. I'm only saying that this suggestion is the best I've heard until now. It might be unusual, but I'd say that it's not something they'd be expecting." (Vela)

For real.

Not even I was expecting this.

"But, but I..." (Shari)

I don't want to step into a corpse puppet!

"I suggest you figure out what you want then. Because otherwise we can just keep staying here." (Vela)

Why is she...

No, I need to think this through logically.

I simply can't afford to waste too much time.

My parents are likely in danger.

More so, the more time is wasted.

If we were to head to Siras now as we are, they would rebuke us at the gate.

I also don't think that the security is going to be so lousy that we could just sneak in there.

The Marquis basically prepared for war.

Any less than at least tight surveillance seems unlikely.

So what about Liqu's idea...

I could pull this off.

Take over a corpse, act like we are returning from our mission, and they may lead us right into their headquarters.

It's definitely feasible.

Liqu got a point, all that's keeping me back are my sensibilities.

And right now, they are objectively holding me back!

I know what I have to do.

As far as I despise even this very idea, I need to make the best calls.

Thus, I stand up and walk to the best choice I could make.

This awfully loud ranger woman.

Not because of personal animosity, although that may play in, but more importantly, she was so loud that I am rather convinced that she got a leading role in this group.

That or the most hated team member.

Upon closer inspection, she was a lean woman.

Maybe late twenties, early thirties.

And particularly her hair is nice, with this deep shade of red.

Damn, I sound seriously wrong saying that while planning to literally wear her body as a flesh coat.

Although her skin is of quite riddled complexion.

Not the most even, a lot of freckles.

Mum could've probably given her a good herbal mix to help with this.

Not like this would help her anymore.

So at least tell me the empty, bloodshot green eyes she's staring into the void with.

I really should stop thinking about her.

Separate corpse from the person she was.

Just use the body for what I need.

I slide out of my uniform.

I won't be able to take it where I'm going.

Now there's nothing but the act itself.

Even if I really don't want to.

I start with a first careful dip.

A bit of slime past her mouth entrance.

At the contact with the dead meat, I need to suppress the urge to begin dissolving.

Aside from this, it disturbingly reminds me of what I did to Nia.

Yet as a source of comfort, this one here won't complain anymore about my treatment.

More of my slime enters, mapping out her inside structure.

I push more inside, becoming increasingly familiar with her digestive tract, until...

"Prrffbllt"

I, I think I pushed too far.

God, that's so embarrassing!

Once I can recover from my shame, I notice that Liqu's possessed male body is next to me.

"You know, I could give you some tips." (Liqu)

Damn, why does she have to speak in such a masculine voice?

This is disturbing!

Yet if I tell her not to do this, she may stop it at a crucial time.

So I appear to have to put up with it.

"You see, if you want to get enough slime inside, you'll have to dissolve the inside. Hollow it out. But it's quite difficult to stop before removing the skin as well. Maybe you should practice this first if this is your intended body." (Liqu)

God, so I have to do this more than once?

But I guess she's got a point.

While I don't want to know how she got experience with this exact thing, she certainly dissolved enough humans in her life to be knowledgeable about their bodies.

I move to another body and start dissolving.

Some part of me feels weird about this.

Sadly, not just about the act, but rather, because I'm already full.

Yet I need to figure out how to hole out a proper disguise of a body.

"For starters, maybe be generous with how much meat you leave. Too much is worse than too little. The former you can correct, the latter not. Also, you should really leave the skull. If anything is lacking there, humans will notice." (Liqu)

Makes sense that a wobbly skull would be suspicious.

Just thinking about how the head of your comrade starts to wobble and deflate.

But once again, I have to ask myself where this insight stems from.

Given that I never heard stories, the other participants never made it out of this horror story.

I try to follow Liqu's advice and dissolve the innards.

This directly leads to leaking around the dissolved stomach and intestines.

The issue persists, the more I take away.

And then it happens.

I dissolve too much and create a hole in the skin.

The change between skin and muscle was barely perceivable, but I should have noticed nonetheless.

Yet I am not as wasteful as that I would switch bodies here.

I continue hollowing out until there's little more but the skin remaining.

I try to raise the body with my slime, like I usually do with my body doubles, but something is wrong.

The whole construct is far more wobbly than I'd like it to be.

Also, it's difficult to maintain a proper counter pressure, given how easily the whole thing caves in.

It's so bad that I'm starting to get frustrated.

Especially, as Liqu doesn't seem to have any of these issues.

Yet this is no time for complaints, but for getting this right.

So I turn with my question to Liqu, asking for assistance.

"Maybe you should leave the bones as is. They help a lot with keeping the form stable. The ribs are quite good, but the others work just as well. Yet too many can be quite heavy to drag around. It's on you to figure out the best balance for you." (Liqu)

Okay, that was informative.

Another corpse is quickly found, and my task starts.

I dissolve the inside, leave the bones and a bunch of meat, and then try to bring in as much slime as possible.

Liqu was right about balance, as I find that with too little slime present in certain parts, those get too unresponsive.

Yet, I'm not trying to carve them out completely this time.

Instead, I focus on just doing as much as I need.

Eventually, I can move with this one.

I call that a success.

Which brings me to the last step.

The body I initially chose.

I apply everything I learned, prioritizing leaving the body intact over top efficiency.

The more meat I take away, the more can be pushed inside.

Actually, I compress so hard that I fear for the stability.

A meatbomb would be quite unintended.

Then the final step comes.

I move my core to her mouth.

While passing her teeth, I make extra sure that my core shell is as tough as it can be.

While it's weird to settle inside her stomach, this one was now thoroughly holed out and cleaned to not be of concern.

Once my core is established, the rest goes even easier.

Now I can move the slime even better, more directly inside the body.

It certainly feels simpler.

I feel it spread to the tips of the arms, the end of the legs, but also up the head.

Liqu warned me not to dissolve the skull.

At least not completely, as it's still required.

Yet, unfortunately, I had to get rid of the brain.

"Can you hear me? If you're okay, then once you're ready, only partially dissolve the eyes. That should do it." (Liqu)

I follow her advice.

The eyes are quickly identified.

I dissolve the back part and am subsequently capable of seeing through the lenses.

Then, I add a bit of slime to the eyelashes and can open them by using the gluey effect.

Thus they open, and I look at the world with eyes that aren't my own.
