Marvel: Sign-In System – Starting with the Glint-Glint Fruit

Chapter 142: Gravity, One of the Four Fundamental Forces of the Universe — Matthew, King of Gravity [BONUS CHAPTER]

In the air above Moscow, Matthew wore a leather jacket-style windbreaker over a white Oxford shirt, with jeans and loafers below.

His black, slightly tousled hair danced in the wind.

He spread his arms wide, strands of electricity coiling around him. A red glow flashed in his eyes.

Around his body lingered a dark purple gravitational field visible to the naked eye. Invisible lines of force spread like a spiderweb into every corner of the mirrored Moscow.

When he spread his arms and slightly lowered his fingertips, the first wave of gravitational torrent erupted.

It was not a thunderous impact.

Instead, it was a greedy pull like a cosmic black hole, carrying the violent power of gravity as it instantly tore everything apart.

The red walls of the Kremlin were the first to collapse.

The heavy bricks and stones were shredded by the pull of gravity, like building blocks crushed by an invisible giant hand. Every blue brick and every glazed tile was forcibly stripped away.

They followed the gravitational trajectory and gathered madly, forming a spinning torrent of brick and stone. It swept through like a storm devouring clouds, and wherever it passed, the eaves of buildings and the spires of towers were instantly torn off and twisted.

The once-majestic Kremlin was ripped into a suspended ruin by that raging gravity in less than ten seconds.

This destructive gravitational storm did not stop. Instead, it continued spreading, sweeping along the streets and engulfing the entire city of Moscow.

The birch trees on both sides of the streets, along with the stone roads beneath them, were forcibly lifted together.

The roots of the birch trees were torn apart, dancing wildly in the air as branches and leaves shattered one after another.

The stone roads were dismantled into broken fragments. Every slab was accelerated by gravity, becoming like a howling cannonball as it smashed into the surrounding buildings.

The once orderly streets were instantly torn into ruins crisscrossed with ravines. The ground split into cracks like an iron web and was swallowed by gravity in an instant.

Even the tributaries of the Volga River did not escape disaster.

The gravitational field forcibly distorted the river's course. The silver-blue water that had once flowed calmly was dragged out of the river channel and turned into a massive curtain of water, then torn in midair into countless droplets.

Every drop of water was accelerated by gravity, carrying a bone-chilling cold as it smashed into the buildings and bridges along the banks.

Under the double impact of gravity and water flow, the steel structures of the bridges bent and snapped like paper.

The bridge piers were uprooted, spinning and colliding within the gravitational vortex, until they were finally ground into fine metallic powder.

The embankments and frozen soil along both sides of the river were lifted and crushed under the pressure of gravity. Losing its support, the river water turned into mist across the sky, dragged by gravity into that dark purple force field that devoured everything.

The wind howled. The dimension trembled. Moscow within the mirror world collapsed in an extremely short time.

The remains of birch trees, fragments of buildings, and the river's water mist. Interwoven with gravity and repulsion, they formed a massive vortex of destruction. Every inch of land and every building was completely erased.

Moscow, once Russia's iconic city, was reduced to nothing but debris flying across the sky. The traces of Red Square, the outline of the Volga River, the golden domes of the Kremlin, all vanished under the violent force of gravity and repulsion.

Only the dark purple force field around Matthew still remained, radiating a suffocating pressure and declaring the complete end of this destructive gravitational storm.

Matthew floated in midair, overlooking the city that had been completely reduced to ruins. The red glow in his eyes slowly dimmed.

He remained silent for a long time.

Only then did a smile rise on his face.

"As expected, combining technology with mystic-side power is the right path. Knowledge really is power." Matthew smiled brightly.

So far, the development potential of the Rumble-Rumble Fruit was indeed above that of the Glint-Glint Fruit.

It was not because of anything else, but because of development difficulty. With the real world's already mature theories and knowledge, transforming them into developed abilities became far easier.

Many things about Devil Fruits could not be examined too closely.

Because they could bypass many things that fundamentally did not exist and could never appear. They ignored many physical rules.

Only in this way could they develop abilities that should not have existed.

The Rumble-Rumble Fruit had allowed him to develop the use of gravity.

What was gravity? One of the four fundamental forces of the universe. Newton had proposed universal gravitation.

Between objects with mass and energy, there existed a basic natural interaction of mutual attraction.

Gravity was the underlying rule by which mass curved spacetime, causing all things to gather and attract one another. It had no repulsive property, and all objects with mass were affected by it.

It was a rule.

When someone could grasp and use this force, it meant that a thinking being had taken hold of a terrifying weapon with no upper limit.

It represented destruction.

And through the extended development of the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, Matthew had initially grasped this destructive rule-like power.

Of course, it was only initial mastery.

Because being able to use created gravity to easily destroy a city did not mean he could currently affect this planet or destroy it.

This was closely tied to his brain's computing power.

When his computing power was insufficient, no matter how he used it, the range his gravity could cover was only the city of Moscow, or perhaps a little more. It still could not reach a greater scale.

Of course, the brain's computing power was also connected to his physique.

As his physique continued to improve, his brain was also growing and strengthening at the same time. Meditation was likewise a method of developing the brain.

Without question, so far, the Rumble-Rumble Fruit had become one of Matthew's highest abilities for unlimited growth.

The other was magic. The only limitation magic placed on him was energy. His upper limit for development was likewise at the cosmic level. Matthew had mastered both.

Just as Matthew was thinking with joy, his brow suddenly moved, and he turned his head.

He saw the figure of the Ancient One slowly appear.

Unlike at the beginning, the Ancient One seemed to have become much more spirited.

Her physical condition was extremely good.

So healthy it was almost absurd. Matthew believed that if the Ancient One wanted to, in her current state, she could live until the Big Bang.

Clearly, after the timeline had been completely changed, the Ancient One had stopped pretending.

"Incredible. Your progress is truly beyond imagination."

The Ancient One was still wearing that yellow sorcerer's robe, holding a folding fan in her hand. She floated beside Matthew and looked down at the destroyed Moscow below, unable to help sighing in amazement.

At her level, she could naturally tell that the method Matthew had used was not magic.

To destroy a major human city so easily without using magic, compared with when she had first met Matthew, his progress had been like a rocket.

One had to know that Matthew's attainments in magic were also increasing day by day.

Now, even the Ancient One could no longer enter the Mirror Dimension opened by Matthew so easily. She needed Matthew's permission to do so.

This was partly because Matthew's magical attainments were advancing at astonishing speed, and partly because of attitude.

She had to treat Matthew as an equal, not as an investment target with endless potential, nor as a junior.

So in many matters, she could no longer act as though it were only natural. Just like this time, respect was mutual.
