Dimensional Chat Group: Starting On Warhammer 40K

Chapter 530: 528

The silver-haired girl pressed her lips together, unable to meet Shiba Miori’s eyes.

Miori hadn’t left after finding them, and her presence only made Seitenshi more embarrassed. At last, Seitenshi shut her eyes, wishing she could pretend they weren’t there.

The private moment passed, though the awkwardness lingered.

Kisara, meanwhile, seemed determined to provoke Miori.

Miori nearly reacted before recognizing the trap. If she showed her displeasure, Kisara would undoubtedly twist it into something else, making her look bad in front of Kain.

She might even drag Seitenshi into it, claiming that Miori’s disapproval was directed at her.

That woman would seize any excuse to drive a wedge between them.

Fortunately, Muroto Sumire’s attention lay elsewhere.

The doctor wanted more material for her research, and her requests were becoming increasingly unreasonable.

Miori and Kisara stared at her. She appeared completely serious.

Kain gave no sign that he had heard the latest demand. His attention was on the research report in front of him.

With that thoughtful expression, he almost looked like an entirely respectable man.

Kisara had to admit that his ability to remain focused on the report and discuss it normally with the doctor was impressive, especially considering how thoroughly he had unsettled everyone else.

“How would you describe the difference between the pseudo-panacea and the panacea you took?”

Sumire’s question drew his attention.

“The difference?”

Kain rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

Since he had already taken the genuine panacea, trying the pseudo-panacea, which produced almost the same effects, hadn’t given him much basis for comparison.

His gaze shifted to Kisara.

After she had taken the pseudo-panacea, he had sensed some sort of connection between them.

Presumably, that was because his blood was one of its main ingredients.

But what exactly was that connection?

Something occurred to him.

Kain withdrew his awareness from the physical world and turned it inward, probing the depths of his consciousness and the space within his soul.

There, he found a soul projection.

Kisara’s.

It had appeared even though he hadn’t deployed his domain. And it was different from the projections that appeared when he did.

It was almost as though her soul projection belonged there, like an officially recognized resident of his soul’s private Warp.

A moment later, understanding came to him naturally.

If Kisara were invited into the Warhammer world, she would be an Untouchable, too.

Her soul wouldn’t project into that world’s Warp. It would connect to his instead.

That connection could also allow him to bring her into his world.

“So that means I can go to your world, too?”

Kisara spoke almost involuntarily.

A mental link had suddenly opened between them. Through it, she had sensed his thoughts and learned things she hadn’t known before.

What an Untouchable was, for instance.

And the dangers of having her soul project into the Warp of his world.

Hm?

She couldn’t sense his thoughts anymore.

He had shut her out already?

She had wanted to learn more about his world. Perhaps a few of his secrets, too.

Meanwhile, she hadn’t adjusted to the connection quickly enough to protect her own thoughts. He had seen right through her.

That was hardly fair.

She shot him an indignant glare.

Then a small, startled sound from Seitenshi drew her attention.

Kisara immediately moved to her side, cutting off Miori before she could approach.

Even now, she had no intention of giving her rival an opening.

Miori could only stare at her.

Apparently, learning that she could travel to another world had done absolutely nothing to make Kisara less aggravating.
