Pregnant by the Prince of Lust(BL)

Chapter 68: A Private Gathering of Vipers

Eiren’s POV

The moment Eiren stepped into Kaevian’s private chambers, the thick scent of incense hit him. The room was bathed in a dim, bluish light casting long shadows across the walls. Grouped around a low wooden table were the very faces he never expected to see here, let alone together.

Lioren, the fourth high concubine, sat beside his father, Lord Vaust. Across from them were Eiren’s own aunt, Lady Mireth, and Kaevian’s aunt, Lady Lydia. Beside them sat Slyven, the third high concubine of the palace. They were all sharing tea, their voices dropping into a sudden, tense silence the second Eiren entered.

"You all are here," Eiren said, pointing a finger toward the table in disbelief. "How?"

Kaevian chuckled softly, gesturing toward the silk mat beside him at the end of the table. "Sit down."

Eiren did not argue. He walked over and took his seat on the mat. Kaevian picked up a porcelain teapot, smoothly pouring hot tea into a cup and sliding it in front of him.

"It wasn’t easy convincing everyone to gather, I know," Lady Mireth spoke up, lifting her cup to take a slow sip.

Eiren took the cup from Kaevian but did not drink. Instead, he just stared at each face around the table, trying to figure out why these high-ranking nobles had formed an alliance in the dark.

"The Prince humiliated everyone in the throne room today," Lady Lydia began, her voice tight as she sniffled. "The minister who was executed today was my relative—the one I personally introduced to the imperial council. And now he is dead because of me." She groaned, slamming her hand flat against the table slowly yet angrily. "I hate that the Prince refused to listen to anyone. He just did whatever he wanted, and all because of that annoying human!"

Lady Mireth set her cup down with a sharp clink. "Before you arrived, Eiren, Kaevian already informed us of what you have been doing. Why didn’t you tell me about this plan, dear nephew? Why did you keep it to yourself?"

Eiren remained silent for a moment, taking a slow sip from his cup.

This was exactly why he had kept his aunt in the dark. He knew she would react this way—loudly, and with a dramatic flair that could jeopardize the entire operation.

Lady Mireth was someone who genuinely enjoyed watching things spiral out of control. But now that the secret was out, there was no point in hiding it.

"That omega will die in seven days," Eiren announced flatly.

Gasps rippled through the bluish room, and the nobles instantly exchanged frantic looks.

Slyven cleared his throat, leaning forward. "Are you absolutely certain about that? Will it truly work out? The Prince won’t suspect anything?"

Eiren cast a cold glare at Slyven. Feeling the weight of the look, Slyven quickly bowed his head in apology. Eiren took another slow sip of his tea before addressing the table. "The Prince is never going to find out. Even if he does, it will be long after that omega is dead. By then, I will be the one mending his broken heart."

Lioren scoffed, placing his hands flat on the table and leaning forward until his eyes locked directly onto Eiren’s. "And how sure are you about that? Do you honestly think the Prince will just come back to you if that omega dies? Have you even tried to figure out why the Prince suddenly stopped visiting the rest of us? He hasn’t summoned a single concubine since that omega arrived! He is the literal Deadly Sin of Lust, yet he isn’t acting like himself at all."

"What the hell are you trying to say, Lioren?" Kaevian demanded, his tone snapping sharp. "We all have the exact same agenda here, and that is to get rid of Seraphel. So tell us what is going on in your head."

"I am saying what everyone else has been too afraid to say all night long," Lioren replied.

The table instantly erupted into noise. Everyone except Eiren started speaking at once, gesturing defensively or pointing fingers at Lioren.

"What do you mean by that, boy?" Lord Vaust demanded of his son.

"If you have something to say, just say it," Slyven added quickly.

"Is there something we should know?" Lady Lydia insisted, her brow furrowing.

Lioren let out a heavy sigh, looking around at the anxious faces. "I think that omega used some kind of black magic on the Prince. Something to force him to fall in love."

The reaction to the theory was immediate and entirely split among everyone in the room.

Eiren simply rolled his eyes in annoyance, while Kaevian let out a heavy sigh. Lord Vaust frowned deeply, processing the words, but Slyven just sighed in exhaustion right along with Kaevian. Meanwhile, Lady Mireth and Lady Lydia both burst out into mocking laughter.

"What the hell are you even saying?" Kaevian asked, cutting through the noise. "There is no one alive powerful enough to use mind control on the Prince of Lust. He is the deadliest brother among the Sins. He is the god of mind control. Who could possibly bypass his defenses with black magic? I was privileged enough to meet one of his brothers recently—the Sin of Greed—and he was actually pleasant. But Azriel? He is the worst of them. No one," Kaevian slammed his hand gently but firmly onto the wood, "can perform black magic on him. That omega is just lucky to be carrying the Prince’s child."

Kaevian then turned his gaze toward Eiren. "But we have nothing to worry about anymore, since Eiren has already taken control of the situation."

Lady Mireth shifted in her seat, leaning closer to her nephew. "How did you get your hands on that kind of power, Eiren? Your illusion magic can only do so much."

"Let’s just say someone far more powerful than humans want him dead," Eiren replied smoothly.

"So we aren’t the only ones who hate him?" Lady Lydia asked.

Eiren nodded in response.

Lady Lydia smirked, her eyes gleaming with excitement."Then I cannot wait for that annoying omega to die. How dare a lowly thing like him think he can control the Prince and cause such chaos in the court? There is no way a low-life from the slums will ever become our princess. No way."

"Mine neither," Slyven joined in, his lip curling. "That creature is entirely too arrogant. You should have seen the look on his face when he was first introduced to us. He was filled with so much pride, yet he is a nobody—a useless omega from the lowest district."

"And that pride ends soon," Kaevian spoke up, drawing everyone’s attention back to the center of the table. "The omega dies in seven days, right before the wedding. Let’s just play our parts perfectly until then. If anything goes wrong, I have already prepared a scapegoat to take the fall for Eiren."

Lord Vaust nodded in approval. "Good. Once the pest is out of the way, one of you must seduce the Prince again and conceive his child. That is the only way the omega will be quickly forgotten and we will regain his favor.’’

Kaevian nudged Eiren’s shoulder lightly. "That part is up to you. You used to be his favorite, after all. Find a way to win his heart back."

Eiren said nothing, offering only a slow, calculated nod.

Lioren chuckled lightly and tapped his fingers on the table with excitement. "Great. Then we have nothing left to worry about."

Kaevian clapped his hands once, sharply silencing the table to ensure he had their full cooperation. "Even though the plan is foolproof, we must be extremely careful around Anomas, the Lord of Prophecy. And remember, the rest of the Sins begin arriving tomorrow. Make sure you all stand out, play your parts, and try not to get your heads put on spikes."
