Chapter 217: It Is You Who Do Not Understand 101

Chapter 217: Chapter 216: It Is You Who Do Not Understand 101

In front of the main gate of the Iron Guard Fortress.

Leontus and Lorgar Aurelian stood in the clearing, their bodies tensed as they watched the orbit above.

The once unchanging sea of Tyranids ships was now enduring fierce artillery fire from further out.

Dense Macro Cannon fire slammed into the massive bodies of the bio-ships, the huge explosions creating a roar that sent these behemoths crashing into the ground with mournful wails.

There were so many bio-ships overhead, blocking out the sky, that the surface defenders could not distinguish between day and night.

But now, as the Macro Cannon fire fell like raindrops, the layered bio-ships were breaking apart, revealing the sunlight that the surface defenders had long missed.

Beneath the thunderous artillery fire, brilliant beams of light pierced through to the ground!

The defenders cheered in excitement; having long been driven to despair by the Tyranids, everyone knew their battle was not for victory, but merely to delay.

Therefore, any force striking the Tyranids now was excellent news for the defenders.

Even if it were another group of enemy forces, it would be a ‘friendly’ enemy force that could help them share the pressure of the Tyranid Swarm.

Only Leontus and Lorgar Aurelian gazed at the shocking scene above, though they had not yet established radio contact with the other side and did not know how many had arrived.

But just the roaring scene above, reminiscent of a ‘War of the Gods,’ with chunks of biological wreckage falling like giant gods.

Leontus and Lorgar Aurelian knew that the scale of the ‘rebel’ fleet that had arrived was so unimaginably vast.

That they actually dared to launch a frontal assault on the Tyranid Swarm!

After watching for a long time and listening to the radio static nearby as others tried to contact the fleet above, confirming that this group of ‘rebels’ was not attacking any Imperial forces, Lorgar Aurelian was the first to react.

He stared blankly at the Light Lance that had pierced through the bio-ships and slammed into the surface; Lorgar Aurelian withdrew his gaze with difficulty and then looked at Leontus beside him:

“Could it… really be… that group from back then?”

Lorgar Aurelian even spoke cautiously, and Leontus, whose gaze had been interrupted, felt his entire body tremble imperceptibly after hearing the words ‘that group.’

Then, trying to appear as stable as possible, Leontus turned his somewhat stiff body to face Lorgar Aurelian beside him:

“Has Guilliman… also turned traitor?!”

This seemed inexplicable, but Lorgar Aurelian understood very well the meaning behind Leontus’s question.

Because it was easier to believe that Guilliman had turned traitor than to believe that the Ancient Legions had come back to save Terra!

But after Leontus finished speaking, not to mention Lorgar Aurelian, even he himself realized that this was simply impossible.

But since Guilliman could not have turned traitor, could the Ancient Legions be the ones to save Terra???

Leontus could not understand it at all, and even though Lorgar Aurelian knew this was the only answer left, his face was full of disbelief and an unwillingness to believe it!

Until a green Light Lance, which Lorgar Aurelian and Leontus had never seen before, blasted open a patch of the sky.

The surrounding bio-ships disintegrated in a way that the Tyranids found most unacceptable, and the radio, which had been noisy for a long time, finally transmitted a faint human voice.

“Surface… respond…”

It was intermittent, but the surrounding defenders were still excited and stirred upon hearing the familiar human language.

Just as Leontus took a deep breath, preparing to respond seriously, at the very moment everyone’s attention was on the radio, three massive biological ‘projectiles’ came roaring down from the mountain above Leontus!

And the target of these three massive biological ‘projectiles’ was none other than Leontus, who had lost all his defenses.

He was also the central hub commanding the Imperial forces, holding the Tyranids firmly at the Sanctuary Star.

The first to move were Lorgar Aurelian and two squads of Custodians beside Leontus.

The others did not ignore their central hub, but under the extreme speed of those three huge biological projectiles, they didn’t even have a chance to react.

The Guardian Spears in the hands of the Custodians fired Bolter fire at the sky.

The powerful Bolter fire roared against them, but only kicked up large splatters of shrapnel and a pitifully small amount of chitinous shell.

Then, as Lorgar Aurelian personally dragged Leontus away, three Norn Emissary slammed with a roar into the ground filled with Imperial Guardsmen and Astartes.

Only one Custodian was killed on the spot by the Norn Emissary because there was no way to get away, while the remaining Custodians hurriedly scattered and continued to maintain high-output firepower.

In the clearing where the Norn Emissary landed, the dense crowd of Imperial Guardsmen and Astartes instantly became ghosts under the chitinous blades of the Norn Emissary.

Never mind how elite the Kasrkin among the Mortals were, even the Astartes, when facing the Norn Emissary directly—and there were three of them—showed such powerlessness that they were practically no different from Mortals.

Everything that had just happened was but a very brief skirmish, lasting only an instant in terms of time perception.

But as the first round ended, in the gap where the surrounding Mortals finally reacted and hurriedly raised their guns.

Lorgar Aurelian watched the Custodian who had been instantly crushed to death, his eyes twitching violently with infinite terror.

He looked seriously at the three Tyranid behemoths before him, which he had never seen before and which were completely unique in appearance.

On one hand, he was curious that among the mass-produced, quantity-focused Tyranids, there could actually be such unique individuals.

On the other hand, he was terrified by how these three behemoths had managed to hide on the mountain under the very noses of the Custodians for so long!

Then, the brief gap ended, and as he watched the three Norn Emissary cooperate with each other, with large numbers of Warrior Bug suddenly emerging from the ground, protecting over a dozen Neurothrope Tyrant as they coordinated with the Norn Emissary to attempt to decapitate Leontus, even Lorgar Aurelian felt a huge sense of powerlessness in his heart.

The Mortals couldn’t even delay them for a moment; accompanied by broken limbs filling the sky, these Mortals would just aim their guns at the Tyranid Swarm, only to have their brains burst instantly under the terrifying psychic power of the Neurothrope Tyrant.

Even if the Astartes gritted their teeth and pulled the trigger while blood gushed from their mouths and noses, their counterattacks were futile and weak; the Norn Emissary only needed to gently wave a blade to easily finish off several or even a dozen Astartes!

At the moment, only the Custodians could barely hinder the advance of the Norn Emissary, who were assisted by a large number of Neurothrope Tyrant.

But the price was that, right before Lorgar Aurelian’s eyes, they were constantly surrounded and beaten, chopped into pulp by this elite Tyranid squad!

“Reinforcements, call for reinforcements immediately!”

Leontus also reacted, retreating in the direction away from the Norn Emissary while reminding Lorgar Aurelian.

But Lorgar Aurelian, seeing that even his own Custodians could only barely delay them, could not imagine what reinforcements could withstand this group of Tyranid individuals before them.

Could they conjure up hundreds of ‘little Primarchs’?!

Until despair appeared on Lorgar Aurelian’s face as another Custodian was chopped into four pieces, and the radio, which had just established contact not long ago, transmitted a response far clearer than before:

“We can provide reinforcements.”

Lorgar Aurelian stared blankly at the radio, stunned for a moment, and then powerlessly and speechlessly said:

“You don’t understand the enemy we are facing at all!”

The radio was silent for a moment, and then another young voice took over the communication:

“No.”

“It is you who do not understand 101!”
