Spider-Man: No Responsibility, Rise of Spider-Monarch

Chapter 266: The Monarch feared by zombies finds the source of the zombies!

All the way to the palace in the capital of Wakanda, Ryan found the situation there was no better than in the city.

Because Wakanda had previously sent out most of the Dora Milaje, who guarded the royal family, to clear out the Skrulls, not only was the capital city's defense empty, but even the palace's defense was hollow.

By now, it had mostly fallen; roaming zombies could be seen everywhere in the palace...

Wakanda probably never expected that one day, disaster would strike from within...

And it happened so coincidentally on the day they sent out most of their forces...

Otherwise, just by relying on the protection of the Dome Energy Shield, Wakanda could have actually avoided most of the danger.

Unfortunately, it's not the likely scenarios one fears, but the one-in-a-million chance.

Now, that one-in-a-million chance had occurred.

Shaking his head, Ryan continued deeper into the palace.

Along the way, Ryan discovered a very interesting thing.

That is, these zombies didn't seem to have any hunger for him; it could even be said they showed great disgust toward him!

As soon as he landed, instead of being excited by flesh and blood, they acted as if they had encountered feces, avoiding him at all costs!

This piqued Ryan's interest, so he slowed his pace, wanting to figure out exactly which part of his power these zombies were afraid of.

After all, he had too many types of power on him now; without clarifying, it would be hard to apply the right remedy...

So, while walking through the palace, Ryan began to suppress his powers one by one.

First was the Symbiote; Ryan had Riot actively enter a dormant state.

Without the protection of the Symbiote suit, Ryan's 'delicious' true self was suddenly exposed to the air.

But the zombies still maintained that posture of disgust and fear toward him, showing no sign of wanting to attack him.

So the problem wasn't with the Symbiote...

Next, Ryan suppressed the powers of the other god-clan bloodlines in his blood.

For example, the Aesir, Olympian Gods, Frost Giant royalty, Titan race, Hulk genes, Captain Marvel abilities... and so on, a series of bloodline abilities that did not belong to Ryan's own Spider Abilities.

But even after he had suppressed all these bloodline powers, those zombies still had that disgusted expression as if looking at feces.

This left Ryan a bit speechless.

He had suppressed all the external powers integrated into his body, yet these zombies were still afraid. Could they be afraid of his original Spider Abilities?

After all, with the external powers suppressed, only... wait!

Ryan's forward steps suddenly paused as he realized something...

Right, that's it!

In his body, besides the powers completely integrated into his genes, there was another category of things that were just temporarily stored in his body and hadn't truly integrated!

That would be...

With a thought from Ryan, three brilliant gems—green, yellow, and blue—floated out of his body and circled around him!

Sure enough, as soon as the three Infinity Stones came out, the reaction of the zombies around him became even greater; they weren't just disgusted and afraid anymore, they simply turned tail and ran!

Seeing this scene, a flash of inspiration hit Ryan, and he suddenly thought of something.

The next moment, he took back the Time and Space Infinity Stones, leaving only the Mind Stone in the air.

Then, Ryan narrowed his eyes, and the emotional perception ability of his Spider-Sense was actively turned on.

Sure enough, after turning on the emotional perception ability, he immediately saw a special frequency fluctuation on the Mind Stone, and the fear emitted by those zombies originated from this special frequency fluctuation of the Mind Stone!

So, the case was closed; what these zombies feared wasn't any of his bloodline abilities, but the Mind Stone stored in his body!

This plot feels a bit familiar...

Ryan's Super Brain reviewed the plot again, and in just a second, it settled on a specific storyline!

He remembered; isn't this the same principle as in the Marvel what if...?? plot where Vision could use the Mind Stone to drive away zombies?

So... the Universe next door is actually the Marvel Zombie Universe from what if...??

Thinking of this, Ryan actually breathed a sigh of relief.

Good, good. It's not the zombie virus from the comics, just the zombie virus from what if...??

In the what if...?? plot, the source of the zombie virus infection was Dr. Pym traveling through the Quantum Realm to save his wife and bringing back a quantum virus.

Although this zombie virus is also very troublesome, even infecting powerful beings like the five-stone Thanos, the late-stage Scarlet Witch, God-King Thor, and so on...

But for Ryan, it wasn't completely unsolvable.

If it were those zombie viruses from the comics that infected for various trans-dimensional reasons, that would be the real trouble!

Even for the current Ryan, those zombie viruses would be fatal!

After all, in the comics, some zombie viruses could even infect Galactus, one of the Five Great Entities!

Some sources of infection even come from Worlds similar to the Cthulhu Old Gods, belonging to a conceptual level of infection source; there's simply no cure, and in that kind of Universe, there is only despair!

Even if Ryan himself were in that kind of Universe, forget about protecting everything he owns, he might not even be able to guarantee his own safety...

However, if it's just the zombie virus from the Quantum Realm infection in what if...??, then Ryan still has the confidence to solve this trouble.

Even if he can't cure the zombie virus and restore the infected to normal, he has the confidence to crush everyone who is infected!

At worst, he'd just spend some time killing all the infected in the neighboring Universe!

Carnage the Marvel Universe—to be honest, Ryan is actually quite interested!

Now that the source of infection was clear, Ryan felt even more relaxed.

A relaxed smile appeared on his face, and with his hands behind his back, he floated leisurely toward the depths of the palace as if strolling through his own backyard.

As for why he was floating toward the depths of the palace, it was because after he actively turned on his emotional perception just now, he had clearly seen a massive amount of emotional fluctuations rising into the sky from deep within the palace!

Besides the rage and bloodlust inherent to zombies, there were also emotions of fear and despair!

Obviously, those couldn't be emotions emitted by zombies; they could only be from the survivors of Wakanda.

"Dad... Father! No! Father!!!"

Deep within the palace, the Royal Laboratory.

Shuri, her face covered in tears, was protected behind Queen Ramonda of Wakanda, while Queen Ramonda herself held a Vibranium spear, desperately resisting the figure in the Black Panther suit in front of her.

This figure in the Black Panther suit was naturally not T'Challa, but the current Black Panther and the current king of Wakanda, King TChaka!

After the zombie virus broke out in Wakanda, in order to rescue his youngest daughter Shuri, who was trapped in the laboratory by a large number of zombies, T'Chaka put on the Black Panther suit he hadn't worn for a long time and personally fought his way into the laboratory to save his daughter Shuri.

Actually, with the full coverage protection of the Vibranium suit, King TChaka himself would not have been easily infected.

But Superheroes in U.S. comics have a common problem: no matter how critical the situation is, when they talk, they f*cking love to take off their masks or helmets.

And clearly, King TChaka had made this fatal mistake...
