Chapter 165 1160: Yao God Shines Upon Us
Luh Yao chewed out the Snowman and zapped it with a bolt of lightning.
'People are storming the Dragon Nest to slay a dragon, and you're still busy opening treasure chests!'
The Snowman knelt on the ground, meek and subservient, when a lightbulb symbol suddenly popped up over its head.
"Lord God! Jimmy was wrong!"
"Raising the dragon is what's most important."
"Once Pasha grows up and becomes an adult Evil Dragon, it will attract lots of Adventurers and powerful monsters!"
"To face an Evil Dragon, they'll definitely be carrying treasures, and then I'll be able to get them easily!"
"The Lord God's Wisdom!"
"The Lord God saw through everything!"
"It was Jimmy who was too stupid!"
The Snowman danced around excitedly.
Luh Yao: "..."
'What a fucking genius.'
'Then again, if it weren't so absolutely pure and crazy, it wouldn't be the same Snowman that dared to go after a Main God's Fire of Faith.'
On second thought, Luh Yao considered it further.
'If Pasha manages to grow up one day and become an adult Dark Sun Dragon ruling over the Dragon Nest... there will always be bold humans around. It would probably lead to a classic "Hero vs. Evil Dragon" showdown. That's a classic tale I wouldn't want to miss.'
'Just the existence of a Dragon would influence all the little pixel people, spurring them to become stronger and seek ways to fight against Extraordinary Creatures…'
'That's probably how it would go, right?'
Luh Yao couldn't say for sure.
He decided to watch from outside the Dragon Nest for now.
After the Snowman returned all the way to the Dragon Nest, Pasha was still fast asleep.
Bored all by itself, Jimmy started building snowmen inside the Dragon Nest—although a snowman building a snowman was a bit weird, that's exactly what it was doing.
In no time, the Snowman had molded a white Pasha out of snow. It kept packing and tinkering with it until it became a life-sized ice Pasha.
The ice Pasha had its wings spread, looking majestic and imposing.
Then the Snowman began to diligently renovate the crude Dragon Nest.
Calling it a Dragon Nest was a stretch; it was really just a basin between a group of snowy mountains, situated at a high altitude. The Dark Sun was buried in the snow beneath the basin, making the entire Dragon Nest constantly emit black smoke, looking like a small volcano.
Jimmy first built an outer wall out of packed snow, then paved a path from the Dragon Nest down the mountain, tamping down blocks of ice. It also used snow to create a massive ice archway. Finally, it carried the Pasha ice sculpture all the way down the mountain and placed it at the grand entrance.
It was then that Jimmy discovered the stone tablet left by the Dwarfs.
It hoisted the tablet and placed it next to the ice sculpture.
Only after finishing all this did the Snowman return to the Dragon Nest.
Pasha was also gradually waking up by now. Its body had grown a size larger, now resembling a small calf. It had recovered its energy and was flying circles around the Snowman.
Luh Yao clicked his mouse and found that Pasha had already reached LV 24.
Dark Sun Dragons evolved by absorbing the power of the Dark Star. They possessed a natural Divine Skill for development that ignored world versions. As long as Pasha could safely pass through the Eras, it would continue to grow until it stood at the pinnacle of all Extraordinary Creatures.
Before long, the renovated Dragon Nest received its first batch of visitors.
The newcomers were four little people, all carrying bundles on their backs, wearing rabbit-ear hats and thick cotton clothes. They were all very young.
"This must be the Dragon Nest, right?"
"There's a stone tablet."
The little people gathered around the stone tablet to have a look.
"The writing below is in the script of the Fireplace Race Dwarfs. I've studied a little of it."
"High Furnace Wonders... Ah, so it's that Dwarf Adventurer Group. They were written about in *Pawa's Wondrous Adventure*."
"You actually read that kind of book in the Divinity School!"
"...I just read it in my spare time."
"Actually, I read it too."
"Me too..."
All four little people broke into smiles.
"The stories Mr. Pawa wrote are so interesting. He's also from the Divinity School... But is it a bad idea to detour to the Dragon Nest after our pilgrimage?"
"We are Scholars. We must not only spread our God's Faith and Gospel, but also continue to learn about this world."
"In other words, we're spreading the Gospel to the Dragon too!"
"Enough talk. Let's hurry, or else the Dragon might really come out..."
Scared expressions popped up over the little people's heads.
Then, they all sprang into action.
One little person took out an easel and began to draw a map of the Dragon Nest.
Another hammered together a wooden sign, carved something onto it, and stuck it in the ground beside the Dwarfs' stone tablet. Then he also began mapping, just from a different angle.
The third little person mustered up his courage, walked onto the ice bricks, and peered into the Dragon Nest, as if keeping watch.
The last little person knelt and prayed, "Merciful and wise Lord Yao God, we are passing the Dragon Nest on our pilgrimage. We hope to receive Your protection, that we may return safely to the Yao City Divinity College..."
'So, four Scholars from the Divinity School,' Luh Yao thought.
Just as the four Scholars were nervously working, Snowman Jimmy came running out.
The little people jumped in fright and were about to pack up and flee, but when they saw it was just a snowman, they all relaxed. A running snowman was still just a snowman.
Jimmy excitedly said to this first official group of visitors, "Dragon King Pasha is sleeping inside. Are you going to challenge it? If you beat it, you might get some treasure! You'd better call more people to come!"
The four little people replied, "We are Scholars. We don't fight."
The Snowman was very disappointed and left, dejected.
The four little people looked at each other in bewilderment.
"Dragon King Pasha. It seems that's the name of the Dragon Nest's master. But what's the deal with that snowman?"
"It must have been cursed by the Dragon King... or maybe it was harmed by the Dragon King and hopes someone will help it get revenge. Doesn't *Pawa's Wondrous Adventure* mention Curses?"
"It could also be a trap."
"It'll be trouble if the Dragon King wakes up. We have to tell those who come after us to never go inside. There's a high probability of a trap in there."
The four little people tinkered with the sign again for a bit, then quickly retreated.
Luh Yao clicked on the sign they had left behind.
It read:
TRAP INSIDE. DO NOT ENTER WITH A SMALL PARTY.
—The Appraising Scholars: Tie Sai, Hai Wan, Yan Youx, Shang Jian.
The Dragon Nest's grand opening was not ideal.
...
Luh Yao surveyed the Northern New Continent from above. This place was located in the northernmost part of the world, far from the resource-rich Western Continent and the warm Eastern Continent. It was covered in ice and snow—cold and dangerous.
Very few people came here to adventure. Most were just passing galleys that would temporarily dock on the coast, rest and resupply for a bit, and then leave.
Therefore, on the entire continent, any moving individuals stood out conspicuously.
For example.
The High Furnace Wonders trio.
They were still lingering here.
Luh Yao focused his attention on these Dwarfs.
Somehow, these three had gotten mixed up with the Ice Giant Monsters again. This time, they had a real, full-blown conflict with the giants, and the reason was quite absurd: the Ice Giant Monsters forbade living near their territory, but the Dwarfs insisted on cutting down trees to start a fire.
It wasn't out of rebelliousness or provocation. The Dwarfs carried smithing equipment on their backs, and they needed to forge iron periodically to feel right.
This was both a sacred custom for the Dwarfs and their hobby, and they couldn't smith without a fire.
Because of this, the two sides came to blows.
The Dwarfs were outnumbered and were soon beaten and sent fleeing for their lives.
"Damn Ice Giants, we'll remember this."
Outmatched, the High Furnace Wonders retreated all the way back to the shore. They laid out their equipment again, started a fire to do some smithing, and waited for a passing galley.
Luh Yao noticed that in the northernmost part of the continent, the Ice Giant Monsters were caught up in a chaotic battle.
This Chaos came from an invading group. Their bodies were completely obscured by clouds and mist, and the name displayed above their heads was "Fog Spirit."
These Fog Spirits were not high-level, ranging from LV 5 to LV 15, with health bars between 50 and 150. Above their heads was also a progress bar, indicating a limited duration.
But the Fog Spirits' advantage was their numbers, and they could dissipate and then reform. In a battle of attrition, the Ice Giant Monsters were gradually losing ground.
The Ice Giant Monster Elder, wearing a crown of tree branches, commanded its people, constantly encouraging everyone, "We are followers of Yao God, we will never betray our Faith! Yao God shines upon us!"
"Warriors, fight for dignity and Faith! Persistence is victory! Our God will see our bravery and loyalty!"
'Another God has appeared?'
Luh Yao searched around and finally noticed something unusual about a particular cloud.
Moving the mouse over it revealed two entries.
Unknown Divine Statue.
Apostle LV 29: Papalukas.
The player's information refreshed.
Luh Yao flexed his fingers, his hand resting on the mouse.
Your God has seen your valor.
The Apostle Squad assembled, rushing to the new battlefield.
